The staff is not adequately trained to deal with large crowds. The buffet sat empty of several items for a long time. The wait staff passed by our empty water glasses with water in their hand several times. They had one guy at the omelette station juggling that plus waffles. He was doing a good job but needed a helper. The manager ended up giving us a 25% discount for all the trouble. They did not check us in through our Opentable reservation and actually cancelled as if we didn’t show up. And when we called to mention it they said it was Opentables fault but Opentable said the restaurant marked it as cancelled.
Unfortunately we tried to book this restaurant for lunch on Saturday of the big ten championship which was a very crowded weekend. Reviews looked good so we booked and got confirmation for lunch. When we showed up the restaurant was closed. Very disappointing. We then had to find another restaurant where we then had to wait another hour for a table. They really need to update their hours and this result will make me not go there again
It would be great for lunch if it wouldn't take 30mins for the bill. There wasn't any reason for the bill to take an additional 30 minutes.
The staff was great. The atmosphere was fine but the food wasn't much better than the continental breakfast at some hotels so $16 per plate was a bit much
It took over ten minutes for anyone to come to our table and service was spotty and slow after that. The food was closer to a hotel free hot breakfast than what I would expect from a $17 buffet. Generally we were disappointed.
The Pasta Bar which used to be absolutely wonderful Chef Bryan's tutelage is now mediocre at best. The price has also increased dramatically. I will not be back as there are too many other options especially at that price point.
FYI, the menu on Open Table still shows a price of $12 for the Pasta Bar when, in fact, it is now $17.50.
The atmosphere, food, and staff were exceptional. My wife and I were dining here while vacationing based on a recommendation of a friend and we we're thrilled. Highly recommended!!!
We had a great breakfast here, but then lunch was a major disappointment. Service was terrible and even though there were only a few other diners in the restaurant, we were made to feel that we were an imposition on the waitstaff. Our order was incorrect and we never received some items ordered.
Fantastic! What a gem! Great food, great service, not too overpriced and an employee discount for those who work for the State of Indiana. The salad/soup/pasta/dessert bar is excellent!
Very convincing located with great service and good food.
Service was slow and server was forgetting to bring things.
We ordered a smoothie that came out warm, not cold as a smoothie should be. The staff replaced it but the taste was subpar still.
The chicken sausage was cold and dried out. The chive garnish was excessive on the eggs and potatoes we ordered. The potatoes were greasy and did not seem cooked to order. It gave the impression that the food came from the buffet line.
Overall, is way overpriced for the quality of food and overpriced for brunch in general. Beware with what you get in a hotel restaurant.
After tip, for two people, it came out to a $54 breakfast for an egg sandwich and eggs, potatoes and sausage with an OJ and smoothie.
The waitresses on March 10 were great!!!
Terrible. Nothing but a low rate hotel breakfast restaurant trying to be a wannabe Cafe Patachou. Terrible service. Mediocre food. Over priced. Will not be going back.
Tasty breakfast. Absolutely terrible & slow service.
The selection of foods for Sunday brunch was marginal. Cappuccinos came from Starbucks across the way.
Jelly at the table were half full.....so who knows what was going on in there.
dining at this spot, and it was amazing!! I definitely look forward to going back to their pasta bar! Service was a little odd, but the food was great!
Indy hotel restaurant that is so so. Could be OK for breakfast if you were staying at hotel. Otherwise skip it.
Nice lunch buffet. One of the better downtown lunch buffets, just wish it were a tad cheaper. I would eat there again.
We ate here for lunch in hopes that it would be a good dining experience. The menu looked good and it appeared to have a good atmosphere. Upon arrival, we waited 10 minutes before a server or staff member even acknowledged us. We were then served by a less than friendly waiter.
I normally don't mind stodgy places, but even the stodgiest of restaurants in Indianapolis have better wait staff and far more attention placed on the customer.
Although the meal was okay, the change is chef is noticeable. It used to be fun going through the pasta bar line, but now it's just ordinary. And the end product was not as satisfying as with the old chef. And I must say, the olive oil left on the plate was not enticing at all.
The new system is no longer attractive, this is what used to be special when you like to eat pasta in Indy.food and service still excellent
NIce Place. I am sure I will dine here again in the future.
great job! cannot wait to come back for a visit. food was amazing.
The white bean soup was outstanding! We were able to enjoy a quiet holiday lunch and the restaurant is easy to get to from Circle Center Mall.
Our work group had a holiday lunch outing at One South. Everything was great and we had a very nice time. Most of the group ordered the pasta bar and liked it very much. We will consider that restaurant again for a group lunch.
I love coming here for lunch. The pasta bar is the best thing since slice bread. Brian behind the bar is great. We had Joe as our server and he was very attentive. He brought refills and bread before they were needed. I will be back again!
Very convenient before Colts game. not crowded and able to get in and out in approximately 1 hour. Omelets are very good
We eat here a lot for lunch. Staff got my reservation mixed up and service was very slow this day, but the food is great and it is nice atmosphere.
Food was good and service was great. I was very impressed with the chicken sausage (i don't eat pork) and the made-to-order omelette and waffle station. The wait staff was friendly and were always around to offer drink refills. If I ever stay at the Hyatt again, I will definitely eat there.
I made reservation and no one checked me in. I waited at the empty restaurant for quite a while- no one monitored the door. I asked for unsweetened grapefruit juice, I got sweetened pineapple grapefruit juice. They did not have Sweet n Lo, so I went to my room to get my own packs. When I came back, my coffee was already poured and was no longer hot.
So, for a high-scale restaurant, the quality of service was rather low class.
We stayed at the hotel and choose to have breakfast here. The menu looked like it had lots of options that were appealing but we ended up chosing to do the buffet. There were the standards - eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. There was also an omlet station Not being a huge fan of eggs, I didn't partake of this. However, hidden at the end of the line - just past the omlet station - there were very yummy pastries. Overall the restaurant was bright and appealing. I would likely eat here again if I were in the area or staying here.
We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The place was empty so it was very quiet. Our food was good. It was cooked fresh. Our waitress was Kathy and she was pleasant. We had a nice time.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Waitress was exceptional!
We love going to the Hyatt for the lunch pasta bar; however, our waitress was extremely rude. Hope we do not get her next time.
This place is wonderful! The food is great and the ambience is mellow yet bright and modern. The staff are what really make One South a treat. Everyone is helpful, kind, and genuinely happy to see clientele walk through the doors. They have a small yet deliciously satisfying breakfast buffet during the morning hours. And, in the early afternoon they offer a very tasty pasta bar that includes a small pasta station. The price is a little high, so go here when you desire the need to treat yourself. You will be amazed!
Do the pasta bar. Don't worry if you are trying to cut the carbs, you can get salad, soup, and it also has a ton of veggies and meats you choose from. Menu items are overpriced so this is why I recommend the pasta bar.
I had several business breakfasts and lunches during an annual meeting at the Convention Center. The location was very convenient for a getaway to a quiet area where we could enjoy a real lunch served quickly. The pasta bar was a big hit. The breakfast buffet was equally good, fast and delicious. Servers were very accomodating, attentive and friendly.
Located inside the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis Hotel, this venue takes pride in the "farm to fork" style of cuisine. My colleagues and I went there for lunch. I had their special salad served with a corn yogurt dressing. I didn't want to go too heavy on the dressing since it looked as though it was still fermenting. My colleague and I noticed an effervescence which we felt was a defect. Otherwise the food was very good.
I love this place! My partner and I try to work the pasta bar lunch into our schedule at least every other month. It's always great to go there.
