One of the oldest Tandoori restaurants in Surrey conveniently located close to Godalming and Farncombe has had a major makeover, with lovely new decor and lighting, but it still offers the same sumptuous Indian cooking that has made it a favourite for over 38 years in Surrey. The light, bright frontage leads into a warm, modern stucco dining room with stylish fabric seating and traditional artwork and pierced metal wall lights. Chef Rahman's award winning menu includes dishes like starter of adrakhi lamb chops and chilli paneer, main courses of murgh makhani and mughlai lamb shank, or one of the many expert tandoori dishes. Add some naan, raita, rice and a glass of complementing wine from the well devised drinks list, and you will be glad you made the trip.

Let me start off by saying the food was absolutely delicious, and will definitely order again. But only as a takeaway. We were the only people in the restaurant on Saturday night and the service left a lot to be desired. We waited a long time for our food, but saw dozens of takeaways being packed and collected. We saw our waiter on three occasions - when he took down our order, brought it to the table and when it was time to pay the bill. To get a drink we had to go to the bar ourselves. I understand that in these times takeouts are the lifeblood of a restaurant, but surely when you actually have patrons inside they should get some level of service

Always enjoy our meals at Farncombe Tandoori. The menu is shorter for Covid but there is flexibility within that and we felt it was a very safe place to eat out.

We came to the restaurant to make use of the eat out to help out, but we were over charged for everything, including £10 for poppadoms for 3 people. We were charged for rice that was supposed to be included in a dish and over charged for drinks. We felt like we had paid full price after the vouchers had been deducted. The food was nice, but we felt like the prices has been inflated compared to what the menu on the website says.

1st time we were impressed with food, service a little hit and miss and masks not worn over mouth and nose - only on chin. A couple of observations they list their beer as 660ml bottles when In fact it’s 620ml and We were charged £8 for poppadoms for two which we feel was excessive. The restaurant itself is quite dingy and very few people were seated. 2nd time we wanted to support them with the help out eat out scheme. Service was real slow, nearly an hour between poppadoms and mains being served. The takeaways were clearly taking priority over the restaurant. No one apologised for the wait. I received my dish in a soup bowl and it was flavourless and watery with over cooked tough chicken. Rice looked like it had been sitting there for some time and possible reheated, onion bhajis really greasy and nothing like we had before and my husbands mixed grill was burnt. Overall a really bad meal and expensive for what we received. Also there was a bad sewer smell wafting from the toilets into the restaurant. Not pleasant! Won’t be returning.

Pricier than some other Indian restaurants but we’ll worth the money - really tasty fresh curries with plenty of vegetable options. Very quiet at 7.30 on a Saturday but did get busier later. Already booked to go back again!

Incredibly friendly and attentive service, great food, served quickly and treated like we were the only people in the restaurant. Definitely coming back here again.
