Farmer's Table - Little Italy
It had been over a year since we’d eaten at Farmers Table and it was good to be back! Food and service was excellent!
Made a reservation and we were seated right away. Love the outdoor seating. Server, Johnny, was adorable and sweet, but when our food came out, it was not hot. Toast was barely toasted. Food was about a 7 out of 10.
The gluten free pizza was the closest thing I’ve tasted to what you get when you’re in Naples. Absolutely blew my mind!
Let me start by saying Katie, our waitstaff was great. Always attentive and patient as we made our food and drink decisions. The food ,however, was a disappointment. First , when i made rez there was no mention of prefix menu. ( it was Easter). So okay i gave them a pass on that. But our clam chowder was inly lukewarm and our filet was overcooked. Could have complained figured it was energy i didn’t want to expend. The pizza was very good however. So my advice is stick to the things they do best... pizza.
Had a prix fixe menu that wasn't mentioned on OT or Yelp. It wasn't a bad deal...but let me be specific. Three adults in our party. Ordered Crab cakes, mixed greens, and the clam chowder. Chowder was very good; crab cakes did not seem fresh enough for a 6:30 pm dinner- as if they were prepped earlier and then warmed. Salad was very good and dressing was just right. Tried a cocktail and it was refreshing, but a light pour. We ordered pepp pizza, the New York, local sea bass, and Gnocci. Gnocci was good and would have been excellent except it wasnt served hot enough (a theme is developing by now); sea bass was unremarkable, but not bad. They ran out of new york but offered a filet mignon as a substitute. The filet was temder, but again, served just above warm. The 🍕 was very good. Ordered the chocolat mousse for dessert but was informed that they were out so subbed for a read pudding that was actually served just the rigbt temp (yay!). Overall, ot a bad meal, just fell short of a $200+ meal.
Food was okay but we thought a little overpriced. Loads of outdoor seating with plenty of heat lamps!
Friendly service and Good Food! a very nice option for lunch or dinner and great location!!
Loved it, great service!!
Food was not good
food was not good. they tried to serve us bad sea bass then the shrimp that we asked for instead tasted like it was previously frozen... the truffle pizza was good. service was subpar
Prime Little Italy location, however, there are other choices to explore. I would recommend as a ‘safe’ choice, but for the price, better value for your money and time, may be rewarded within walking distance.
Service was not the best which started from the hostess to the server. The food was mediocre.
Great service. Pizza tasted amazing.
We always have a nice meal at Farmer's Table. We all enjoyed appetizers (artichoke was delicious! Octopus was well done). I had the salad with butternut squash and shared the prosciutto pizza, which was absolutely delicious. Others had some pasta dishes, which I did not taste, but they all enjoyed. Had the Pig cocktail - a bit disappointed it wasn't in the pig cup, but the waitress said people stole them all. :( Will return many times.
It was my mom’s birthday but they didn’t do anything special.
Amazingly fresh food!!!
Service was a little off. Not much attention paid to us.
Took a girl here for a first date! Great atmosphere and great customer service. Food came out quick and was delicious. Will be going here again in the near future!
Food was fantastic! Ambiance was fun and exciting. It was super busy and our Server was way overwhelmed. we had to ask for our check and boxes, we actually only saw our sever twice the entire time. Overall a great place
We enjoyed good italian food and great service. The truffle pizza is amazing. We'll be back.
Probably some of the worst food we've had dining out in San Diego. Ever. Was super excited when I saw octopus on their menu - part of the reason I made the res, as it is my favorite. Ordered it as one of our appetizers - it never came. Ordered one of the "jars" to be served with bread. Rather than a mason jar, the mushroom and olive tamponade came in a bowl. Both the spread and the bread were flavorless. Negroni was good but a super small pour. Both of the guys had the filets - they were inedible, soaked in some weird thick sauce and a bad cut of meat. My swordfish was awful - also mostly inedible. it said "roasted with fine herbs" but was more lightly breaded and pan seared, which I never would have ordered. They brought us a dessert to compensate for forgetting the octopus. The dessert was also bland and not worth the calories. Super disorganized and overall terrible. Will not come back.
Great food and service! Our table was by the door that was kept open for the servers to deliver food/drinks, but unfortunately it was a windy and chilly night. I would definitely go back on a warmer day and recommend to others to try!
They only had one server in the whole restaurant so there was a line of people waiting outside. The hostess turned her back to all those people waiting and wouldn’t look at anyone or acknowledge them. Very bad experience all around.
I have always been satisfied with the food and service. This time however, the service was very slow and had to ask for our server 3 times regarding one of the entrees.
Didn't really get an apology or proactive steps to make the experience better.
Very positive experience here. The waitstaff was kind and attentive. I loved the blackberry lemonade drink. The prosciutto and arugula pizza is absolutely incredible! Their charcuterie board is sizable and appropriately priced for how much you receive. Tables were spaced out appropriately. Would definitely return!!
Pizza had a weird burnt aftertaste to it and took a while to come out. It honestly felt like they had forgotten about us and the time I had been here before seemed to me like the servers were more interested in the guests. I didn’t feel that way this time around.
A little chilly but just ask for a heater.
Half the employees wore their masks only covering their mouths or had masks hanging off their ear.
Server was great and and food came out really fast. I think I just don’t like their Chilaquiles. The salsa is bitter. Drinks were good and everyone else liked their food. It was a good time.
GREAT SERVICE! GREAT FOOD! GREAT PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was nice outside seating at the bar loved the drinks too many crab shells in my crab cakes but other than that it was good
The octopus appetizer is a great start.
Great dinner experience with friends
Gluten free crust was not good at all, extremely chewy almost not edible. Very disappointing.
We are here before COVID and food was great. Today food was not that good and nothing special about it. It was pretty much a basic brunch. Probably won’t be back anytime soon.
Great place for good eats! Loved everything about this restaurant. Helpful, attentive staff. Delicious and photo worthy food options. So much to choose from and we will definitely be returning soon!
Paloma our waitress was awesome
Very good experience, excellent service! Everyone was very attentive and I liked that 2 people cleaned the tables before the next patron. My only suggestion would be to use a metal cover like they use for room service when bringing food outdoors to keep food warm until brought to table.
We were there for the Valentine’s prix fixe menu. Despite having reservations they were out of of options from not the mains and the desserts. The chicken was dry. They were clearly trying to rush people through to get more parties in. Not a good experience for the cost of the special menu.
I’m only giving it a high rating because our server made our night.
