   my problem is the food is too fancy. no just plain pasta with marinara sauce, or other much simpler plates. also a bit pricey. love the setting but offer simpler food. maybe i'd recommend it, not sure

   The outdoor seating here is so lovely and comfortable. The food was mostly great. We followed the recommendations of our server Becky and were not disappointed. All around she was an amazing server. We will be asking for her next time we dine there. Which will be soon!

   Our waitress was wonderful and the starters were very good but the Tagliatelle was swimming in grease from the meat sauce and the chicken was over breaded and over cooked.

    Fabians is one of our favorite restaurants. We were so excited to take our mother there for her birthday. We had a reservation and after a short delay we were seated at a nice table in the lovely courtyard. We did not get greeted by a server for a long time and instead the hostess came by to take our drink orders. When we inquired about specials, the hostess told us she was not our server and didn’t know the menu. We continued to wait for our server and sadly our service did not improve throughout our lunch. We had to ask for sweetener for the teas and continually asked for water refills, etc . One person in our party ordered French fries without salt and our waitress advised us that t the kitchen misunderstood and make them all without salt so she brought us a salt shaker. She did not offer to have them remade correctly. The food we had was good and we tried to not let the poor service overshadow this special occasion. We don’t think we will be in a hurry to go back again soon.

    This restaurant was my favorite place and had become a tradition for us for Mother's Day. The service was still very good, and the restaurant was clean and beautiful. But I went there because the food was outstanding on prior visits. It was not this time, and sadly, I don't think that Mom is going to want to return.

    Took my mother here for Mother’s Day and was so impressed on the experience. The menu was special for Mother’s Day. Our service was wonderful and we didn’t feel rushed at all. The atmosphere was perfect out on the patio. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to take mom!

    It was a lovely Mother’s Day brunch except for the poached eggs were extremely overcooked and made the eggs Benedict unpleasant. They were more like hard boiled eggs. For many the scrambled eggs would seem overcooked also. The starters and other dishes we had were very enjoyable and the Bloody Mary’s were delicious. The only issue appeared to be with the cooking of the eggs.

    Menu changes only slightly so the dishes are consistently good. The ambience outdoor and inside is relaxed which I prefer. Great place for a cocktail as well

    Service was wonderful. The Fabian staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Outdoor eating is so pretty with the trees but misters would have made our meal even more comfortable. This is my third visit and I will certainly be back.

    Our waiter Steven was and is always amazing. He makes the experience phenomenal. Amazing at pairing wines with the main dishes and he is extremely engaged and knowledgeable of the entire menu. The Chef is amazing too! Keep up the outstanding job!!

    We love this warm and cozy neighborhood restaurant in Fair Oaks. Food is fantastic and the service is wonderful. The outdoor patio dining area is really nice especially in the evening when the lights around the trees are on.

    The food at Fabian's is always wonderful. Over the years we have sampled almost every one of the breakfast specials and they are masterful at the potatoes, biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict . . . all yummy. And their chocolate caramel pot d creme is heart stopping. Our waitress was very good, when she finally was directed to our table, and took good care of us; the restaurant is still running with minimal wait staff and the hostess was stretched thin. Once the food was ordered though, it was prepped and delivered promptly. A note to the restaurant and Open Table - I tried to revise my month old reservation 3 days before our meal to add another person to our party. Open table said there were only resevations available outside if I wanted to add one more person, and the weather was poor and our original reservation was inside, where we wanted to sit, so the birthday girl (age 84) did not get to see the grandnephew who wanted to come and wish her well. When we arrived at our appointed time, it was kind of upsetting to see 2/3 of the interior of the restaurant empty. They could have easily seated us at a table for 5. Not only did it throw a pall over the event, since he had stayed behind to not force us to eat outside, but it lost the restaurant another $70 on the tab. You need to figure out how to clean up the communication between the Open Table app and what is really available. Such a bummer he missed out on his favorite breakfast treat, and you missed out on another chunk of change in the till . . . for no good reason.

    I love the outdoor area, its perfect!! Food is always good. Italian food is not my favorite, especially since I can't have gluten. Service was very good! Mimosas were perfect! I've eaten here many times, maybe 7-10 times over the past several years, always a good experience. Highly recommend!! Would love them even more if they had more gluten free options for me! :)

    As always the staff is fabulous. And thank m empathetic to how difficult things are now in the restaurant business. Unfortunately Fabian’s food has been declining post pandemic. Our lunch today just didn’t have the flavors that Fabian’s is famous for. The gnocchi resembled Scrabble tiles and had no flavor. And the number was more like a garnish. My arugula salad was bland and not worth finishing. Same thing with the green goddess salad. I’ve been a customer for ten plus years and ordered takeout all during Covid. I even ate outside for an anniversary celebration with the weather in the low 50s. I will continue to visit but sporadically.

    Fabian’s is a lovely place. Always enjoy going there. Food is usually excellent. Last night the seafood special at $34 way too oily. Maybe trying too hard to make it special. Just an expensive overdone dish. Crispy chicken was excellent as was the risotto. The outside which is so nice had very many noisy diners, hard to have a cozy dinner under those circumstances. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly.

    On every level, absolutely one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, and I've been to thousands throughout the world. Every dish was delicious (party of 5 women). There was a new dessert on the menu, which was shortbread cookies with 3 dipping sauces (berry, pistachio & Earl Grey lavendar)...SO YUMMY. We were there for Saturday brunch & were seated in their beautiful, oasis-like patio. A wonderful experience.

    Party of 6 on a Sunday in the patio area to celebrate a birthday. We had the Brunch menu. Our experience from checking in to paying our check was excellent. Food was delicious - everyone loved what they ordered. We shared all offered desserts. Our server was lovely and attentive. We will definitely be back again in future for lunch and dinner.     This was my first visit to Fabian’s Italian Bistro. I went with friends for brunch. We loved the food, the service, and the ambiance of the restaurant. There is a lovely patio and comfortable interior booths. I can’t wait to go back and try this place again for lunch or dinner!
