Our inspiration is the Zeus Faber, one of many local fish that can be fished sustainably and from our shores; although it has a wonderful Latin come Greek name, it also has a very British name - John Dory.

Faber is the Latin word for ‘Smith’ and as Smith is the most common name in English, we decided it sits well with our ethos - we want to be accessible to all.

Setting us apart from the rest is our commitment to working with local fishmongers who run out to the coast each evening to collect day-boat fish and local ingredients. This means that everything on our menu is fresh, sustainably sourced, and supports the local economy.

Our chef Ollie Bass believes in creating dishes that are not only delicious but also ethical and responsible.

A perfect spot with Eventim Apollo, The Lyric & Riverside studios only 5-10 minutes walk, dine in with us to feel like you're at the coast in the heart of Hammersmith

Faber is a good restaurant; the fish was nicely cooked .The survey does not distinguish in 'Service' score the table service which was a very good versus the time taken to cook and then present our order ,which took way too long.This one point-excessive waiting -is the only thing that prevents Faber being uniformly top notch

We prebooked a table at 18:45 as we were seeing a show at the Apollo at 20:00. Lovely looking restaurant. Given a nice table. Got a drinks menu. Had to chase up after 10 minutes for a food menu. Ordered at 19:00 from specials board. Got drinks at 19:05. Had to chase up for food at 19:30. Food arrived at 19:40 - unappetising, poorly executed dishes. If these are the specials, at £30/dish, i dread to think whats on the regular menu. We did not eat. We highlighted the shortfall in service & quality. You apologised profusely and waived the cheque. Overall it felt like a 1hr punishment not an enjoyable preshow dinner. M&S food to go saved the evening 5mins before the show started.

Amazing setting & service. Fabulous selection of fresh fish & shellfish, perfectly cooked. Some interesting cocktails to start meal with a bang!

Very nice. Glad it’s a real fish and seafood restaurant and not half hearted. Fish was truly fresh and really well cooked. Good wine list featuring a good selection of English wine. Service knowledgable and friendly . Menu. Good mixes of shareable plates and full course items. Skate was really good

Unfortunately the food is extremely overpriced aligned with portion sizes being way to small. They charged me £32 for a TINY skate steak with a horrid sauce without any sides. The starters were ridiculously small, basically a mouthful. The only item giving value for money was the cod fish and chips which you can get anywhere. There are much better fish restaurants that provide honest value so you do not leave significantly poorer but STILL hungry.

The restaurant matched up to the photos on the App, light and airy and the tables not too close together in an historical building in Hammersmith. A good selection of seafood as you would expect with some options for non-seafood lovers. We were greeted with a smile and this continued with all the waiting team which was great. A decent wine selection with a good number offered by the glass, waitress offered guidance as well so good training 👍 We had the fable oyster selection which was interesting and tasty and the skate wing, you will need a side to share, chips were chunky and good. We would come back again when in the area

We booked Faber's as we were at Queens. The restaurant is spacious and modern and bright. It's really close the the Hammersmith tube. The service and manner as excellent delivered by Frankie who was great and nothing was an issue for them. My guests really enjoyed the varied menu of fresh fish. One of our guests had a special diet requirement which other local restaurants would not accommodate. Faber's immediately reassured me that they were knowledgeable and could help with this. 10/10!

Dissapointed. This was our second time here and likely our last. The stars are for the lovely service and the chips! The rest was quite awful. The squid was nice but quite chewy in the middle of the skewer. The croquettes were tasty but fairly runny. The sole main course was tiny with more bones than fish. My ‘pollack bouillabaisse’ was definitely not a bouillabaisse. The dry fish could have been masked by the soup/broth if it actually came with any. It had the meanest spoonful of liquid which did not require the spoon provided or the bread ordered to mop it up. There were 2, maybe 3 jersey royals chopped into mushy pieces. Just really disappointed, especially for the price. We left hungry.

Lovely fish restaurant, we had small plates and they were all really good. The menu changes fairly regularly as they are dependant on what is available at the market. All ingredients are locally sourced (UK). The team are very helpful and will advise on what to go for. Recommended.
