Moore, the beloved, Chicago-based, chef, has manifested a vision of elevated Southern cuisine in a Northern city where the bulk of the Black American community has direct Southern ancestry and roots.                                       The modern take on the dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. As I looked around our table of 6 at the end of dinner, they were all completely empty. Our waiter's recommendations for wine selection were right on target. Delicious Gamay. Ambience was excellent Will return for sure and will definitely recommend for small and large groups

                                      10/10 experience! Food was AMAZING! Atmosphere was wonderful and the music set the mood. Would definitely come back again.

                                      Beautiful room with modern, comfortable . Large bar and patio seating as well. Chef’s pedigree is Southern cuisine and they are a few menu items that give a nod to that but thematically the food seems all over the place. Pricey for the size of the dishes. Shrimp cebiche was good, fried green tomatoes with burrata was interesting, catfish dip and crackers was underwhelming. Would like to see more interesting dusted along those lines vs salmon, pasta, steak frites, burger (though that burger looked good on someone else’s plate). Might try again for the oxtail or chicken dish.

                                      I mean the food plus the ambiance what more can you ask for! Can here specifically to support black owned business. And this place is more than I could have imagined. Can we talk about how good the oxtail and purple grits were!? I’m Jamaican so that says a lot we don’t mess around with oxtail being cooked incorrectly LOL. Only thing I’d say is maybe more cocktail menu choices on the happy hour menu… for the lady’s who want a pretty drink

                                      Best oxtail we’ve had - don’t miss this dish . The smoked catfish dip had the comforting semblance of home but leveled up for the taste buds. And the host to server were so warm and authentic in their care for us - they truly appreciate good food and will tell it to you straight with care . Such a lovely dining experience and will be back next time we are in Chicago.

                                      Okay - Food was good and full of flavor, but the online and print menu listed a Shrimp Ceviche, the server said it was removed from the menu, then came back and said the Chef had one left - so is it on or off? Do you have the ingredients or not. Atmosphere lost points as the curtains in the windows were tied up in knots. It’s what you expect from someplace that doesn’t focus on the details of maintaining the original design as you’d never do this with quality window treatments. But what triggered me from the beginning was a staff member in a red trucker hat. Regardless of one’s political persuasion, when I come to dinner it’s to escape the outside world. Where it was MAGA or another brand, it was too close to be in a comfortable environment and truly relax. These series of details demonstrate a slip in professionalism that distracted from the otherwise well prepared dishes and balanced menu.
