Moore, the beloved, Chicago-based, chef, has manifested a vision of elevated Southern cuisine in a Northern city where the bulk of the Black American community has direct Southern ancestry and roots. Soil was rich and ready for the unique warmth of his ideas. The opening team of etc. has created a space, menu, beverage program, and flow of service that is simultaneously down-home and adventurous, and as intriguing and challenging as it is familiar Our mission is to bring a high level of experience, taste, and cocktails to the loop/printers row, family-style and without any pretension.

                                      Food was just ok. Waitress was nice but seemed very out of it. She didn't seem to know the menu, at one point she walked away while we were still talking to her, she told us the restaurant doesn't take temperature requests for their meat and that everything comes medium. But my burger came out so well done I could barely chew it. Very lack luster experience

                                      Amazing experience! Loved the modern interior with blue tones. Service was wonderful (attentive but not overbearing). Food was creative and unique, and absolutely delicious! We will be back.

                                      It was my second time in. We were on a date. Our server did a pretty good job of being attentive without being intrusive. We both had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the food quality, ambience, and caliber of hospitality. Top Marks!

                                      For one of the best new restaurants in Chicago according to Eater, it was dead for a 7pm reservation. Less than half full which kind of killed the vibe. Food was great but service was lacking. Even for it not being busy, attention to our table was intermittent at best. We had to ask various staff for forks and water at different times, and sometimes our waiter was nowhere to be seen to ask for these things. Again, food was excellent, cocktails were good too, but not enough to overcome the dead vibe and inconsistent service.

                                      Brunch was amazing! Chicken&Waffles a must have, cinnamon roll was a great starter for me😋 The avocado on the homemade brioche was kissed with just the right amount of heat. It was outstanding! Not a drinker so just had coffee which was very good 👍🏼. Tiger shrimp with purple grits was enjoyed by my sissy! The salmon croquettes were delicious but the potatoes that accompanied were amazing 👏🏼 😋 👌 I will definitely return for another Sunday Brunch!

                                      After seeing a video from a food critic about the brunch at this place, I decided to take my wife and daughter to try their food. I made reservations for dinner, and maybe their brunch would've been better. I had their suya chicken, it was ok. The chicken wasn't all the way done to the bone. My wife ordered fried green tomatoes, and it came with 3 slices. She ate half a slice and didn't like it. She didn't eat anymore and was content and didn't want to try anything else. My daughter had their burger and was satisfied. My wife told our server that she didn't really like the tomatoes. Mind you She only ate half of one of the 3 slices and it was $21 for the 3. The manager said there was nothing wrong with it, so he wasn't going to take it off the bill. How are you going to make us pay for something that wasn't edible to her tasting? Any other place would've taken it off. After talking to the manager he decided to take it off. He actually had an attitude about it and one thing you're not gonna do is bully me into paying for something that isn't good enough to eat. With their menu options and the way they do business, I don't know how long they'll be in business. I definitely won't be back. For me to be writing a review, which is something that I never do, my experience was just that bad.

                                      We went here for dinner and was just ok. For the cost our entire meal (eat $200), the portions were extremely small. I was not impressed. The food itself was not bad and it tasted pretty good, I just didn't like the cost compared to the amount of food. I also did not like the way the tables were so close to the kitchen/server space. I really didn't want to see the "mess" that was piling up in the service area while they brought out food. It's not a totally bad spot to eat, but I couldn't see myself going back there for a meal.
