Birthday dinner with family. Excellent service. Perfect decor and ambience.
Excellent service. Excellent food. They even remembered my “birthday” note for my sister and brought out a delicious dessert to celebrate :)
Fries were good. Everything else terrible including service
Service was slow. The food seemed as if it came out if a microwave. I had the fish. It was chewy and flavorless. The plate has a runny, dare I say sauce, on it.
Great food and presentation. Cocktails were excellent and the wait staff were very friendly and attentive.
Although the menu was limited, the food and the service were outstanding. The view out to the park with lights on the trees added to the ambience. It was a delightful evening!
The service was good and solicitous. I ordered the burger w/ fries, and both were good; the fries were not warm - probably bc they were getting other orders ready to serve us at the same time. The cost of the meal was more than I would have paid normally and I am not sure if I would search out the Estuary if my visiting family were not staying at the Conrad.
The service was amazing and the ambiance is beautiful. Portions are VERY small and the quality was not on par with the price. If you are considering this restaurant, I would suggest Joe’s instead.
This was our third visit and it did not disappoint. We haven’t been since the pandemic and we’re curious of any changes. We didn’t get a lot of extras like pre-pandemic but our food and drinks were great. My wife and I shared the crab cakes and steak both were delicious.
Excellent NYE dining experience
The restaurant wasn't actually Estuary, which is still closed due to COVID. It was not made clear to us that our reservation had actually been made at the Conrad Hotel's bar.
The surprise notice that only the bar area would be open threw us.
Really, really disappointing. I received a call from the restaurant 45 minutes before our reservation, just as we were leaving the house, that we would only have a limited dinner menu. If we had had the courtesy of more notice we likely would have found a reservation elsewhere. In addition, it was 20 minutes after our party was seated before anyone came to take our drink menu. Finally, 30 minutes after that we received our drinks. I get that staffing is a challenge currently, but that seemed excessive to us. That wasn't all either. Our party all agreed that the Spicy Tuna appetizer was pretty horrible. The Little Gems salad was only adequate at $17 as were our entrees. The last complaint: our wine was poured initially, but no one ever came back to refill our glasses. What? At this price point?
Service amazing food generally good, desserts not so much
Incredible dining experience. Food was terrific. Service from the staff, especially our waiter, Ryan was superb. Had the hanger steak and it was extremely juicy and tender. Thank you.
Food was excellent as expected. The beverage manager seemed to be a wine connoisseur and was very intelligent in all of the wine and was very proud to tell us all about the wine we ordered plus similar ones he’d think we’d enjoy at a later time. Would come back just for him!
The food was merely okay. For the price, I was expecting something more exciting. The bigger issue however were the oysters. My girlfriend was particularly interested ordering a half dozen, but we were told they had ran out for the night. That's disappointing, but understandable. A table of four diners were then seated next to us and proceeded to order the same. When they were informed of the lack of oysters, one of the ladies expressed her disappointment and started that was one of the reasons why they specifically chose this restaurant tonight, exactly as my girlfriend did less than 10 minutes prior. The waiter said he'll ask the chef if anything can be done. Towards the end of our meal, the waiter appeared with oysters for their table only. What the hell? Where did these "out of stock" oysters magically come from and why weren't we offered any? Definitely never going back.
Beautiful ambiance - wonderful service - excellent food. The entire experience was fantastic and would go back anytime
We had a nice dinner, but the restaurant seemed understaffed. It took us awhile to get service. Eventually my husband ordered our drinks from the bar and that got us attention. Lovely environment with nice views. Delicious gem salad; kale salad was fair. Pretzel crusted fish nuggets were outstanding. Also cocktails were well made and very good. A nice option when staying in the hotel.
After viewing the Holiday Tree Lighting, we visited Estuary for a birthday dinner. The customer service at the Estuary was EXCEPTIONAL by everyone we encountered. Lauren, in particular, was our server and she was very attentive and gracious. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious and it offers beautiful views of the Holiday Tree. Although I did not capture pictures of the main course, the Fluke Meunière with Buttery Potatoes and Sautéed Spinach as sides was the perfect entire. I look forward to returning to the Estuary soon.
Wonderful meal . Great service by Ryan . Menu is on smaller side but food is very good . Calm and pleasing ambiance.
Couldn’t wait to come back after you reopened. Maybe thanksgiving was a bad choice. All the sides were really bland. We were shocked. Will try regular menu again soon.
Nial Harris Garcia and the team provided fabulous Michelin star worthy service. The food was excellent and overall a standout restaurant for the DC area. Super cool hotel and restaurant decor that feels more New York or Los Angeles than DC: we see this as a very good thing. Dramatic modern views in the restaurant and neat circular bar. Absolutely recommended for a special occasion or any occasion for a celebration of life with your partner or group of friends.
I'm not sure if the Thanksgiving menu reflects the original menu but the flavor profiles for my selected items weren't to my liking.
We went for thanksgiving - price fixe menu was delicious with excellent options. Portion sizes were more than adequate. the service was impeccable and the entire staff was kind & courteous & it was nice to watch the open kitchen. We will definitely be back for a regular service - but their holiday offering was very good!
I went to Estuary for Thanksgiving and was blown away by the amazing meal and service. They sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable and the staff was top notch. I'll definitely be going back.
It was fine but for the price it wasn’t mind blowing. It was good and all but u get like u were eating in a hotel dining room. Expected more I gueee.
Came here with my wife. And now we can’t get enough of it, we visit every time we are in town.
My first visit and won't be my last. Three friends visited Estuary with me and we each enjoyed the treat. Two of us ordered Maryland crab rolls, which were stuffed with crab. My west coast friend ordered the Atlantic salmon and he enjoyed it. He stated it was the best he ever had. Another friend, who's a southern boy at heart, ordered the shrimp and grits. He definitely could've eaten more. The server was outstanding. He visited the table often but allowed us privacy too. Thank you
Be careful of food allergies, they asked but did not follow through on this! Could be very dangerous for health.
We were early (had been to a matinee), so we were the first diners to arrive. The service was lovely - attentive but not obnoxious. That said, for the price, the food should be a lot better. The shrimp and grits plate was very tasty - though 3 shrimp does not a "plate" make. Was just ordered as an appetizer, though, so we didn't go hungry. My son ordered the pot roast - it was tough as shoe leather. They graciously offered him something else (he selected the hangar steak, I believe). I am told it was tasty, but the deconstructed mashed potatoes were more like whipped, flavorless egg whites. I had the sea bass, which was very tasty - it came with sunchoke falafel - which looked like falafel, but was more like too-fried hushpuppies. Probably a lot of finesse in the cooking, but not much flavor. Because of the pot roast issue, we were told that dessert would be comped - a nice touch. (though, in fact, they only comped one dessert). The deconstructed key lime pie had coconut and basil flavors - perhaps a nod to Thai cuisine, but it didn't really hold together. The ginger puck with shaved ice cream similarly did not coalesce into a coherent dessert. Even the cappuccino was forgettable. We wanted to love it, but both agreed that it wouldn't necessitate a return trip.
Wasn't impressed and could have been better. Menu options extremely limited.
Blake was a fantastic waiter; fish was so fresh and innovative
Tasting menu with wine pairing was excellent. The desert left something to be desired, I had a semi sweet chocolate cake. Overall a great experience.
Got the chefs tasting menu
Tuna tart rare had little taste. Besides the wasabi powder which hit after the tuna was already swallowed
Wagyu was overcooked.
Gnocchi was too tough.
Crab roll was excellent.
The service was exceptional but the food was disappointing. The flavors were confusing and the portions were tiny. I would only return for the cocktails.
Amazing experience. Food and service both were phebominal.
Last reservation before the shutdown. I have nothing bad to say about this experience.
Good choice for a business dinner. Good ambience, low noise level, tables are spaced well. The food was hit or miss. Some plates (the swordfish schnitzel) were excellent. Others (the waygu, the shishito peppers) were significant misses - the waygu was oily to the point of inedibility and the shishito peppers were practically raw. I would give this place another try for the ambiance and potential.
