I live in Dallas and booked a reservation online for 7 people at 1pm on a Saturday as an after wedding celebration (got married the day before). I saw great reviews on TikTok and thought it would be a nice place to take my family. When I got to the restaurant, they had a sign up saying “due to short staffing, those who booked a reservation will have to go through the normal line and find your own seating”……….ok. The drinks from the bar were pretty good. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Now for the main food- definitely subpar ‼️ from my party, I got the pepper steak, 3 people got oxtails, 2 people got fried catfish, and 1 got fried chicken. Pepper steak and oxtails were bland and had the same gravy. For a $30 plate of oxtails, we didn’t expect the taste to lack so much. The fried fish was great. They make fried foods to order, which is fine. But we all were finished eating our meals before my cousin’s fried chicken ever came out the kitchen (and we asked the staff about it twice!! Over a 40 mins wait for it). Now for the sides- the Mac and cheese, candied yams, and potato salad were fire 🔥. Greens sucked. The banana pudding was great as well. Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back. The amount of money spent did not equate to the food or service received.
