Good food. Young waiter who did not have a clue. He was the bartender, waiter, and busboy. Knew nothing about the two different menus we received. I actually felt sorry for him.

We tried to cancel the reservation but when we called the restaurant's number a few minutes before our reservation time (7:00 pm), we got a recorded message that said it was closed. We called the number three times. Maybe a power outage in the building? No communication from the restaurant. Very strange.

This was a very surprising experience. The veal Ossobuco was amazing. The bolognese pasta was superb. I don’t care for most of the Italian restaurants in Winston, so this was a delightful surprise.

Stacie was amazong we loved her , she really is what pulled the entire roar experience together not just the restaurant.I would go again just because of her, also I recommend the chicken Alfredo delicious!!!!

Of great surprise this restaurant did not imaginatively present the food. It was just put into the serving dish. Of great disappointment they now charge $12.00 for a bread basket. This was an excessive charge. I have eaten elsewhere and always have free bread. I would not come back.

Well, this was a letdown for dinner out with friends. We waited an hour & 20 mins for our food. Some time before the one hour mark our waiter started avoiding us. It was also apparent we were not the only unhappy guests. We flagged down our waiter & he passed us off to someone else, maybe a manager? She told us there was only 1 chef and offered us a bottle of their house wine, and told us 5-7 mins. 15 mins later we flagged her down & with an attitude told us the food was being plated. 5 minutes later 2 of the 4 meals were brought out. 5 mins later the other 2 came. All 4 meals were completely unimpressive. And to top it off it was quite warm in there with no air movement. They need to step up their game if they want to last.

We were there Sunday afternoon and they offer their brunch menu and pizzas. Everything was very good and our waitress was super sweet. They offer mimosa flights which are 4 full sized mimosas. They were tasty, but it was the 1st time I had a drink flight that was full sized drinks. Luckily they were good and we had enough people to drink all of them! We will definitely be back!

This was not my first choice, but I wanted Italian food for my birthday. I was intrigued by the menu with its numerous pasta dishes. I chose risotto which came in a pesto sauce with peas and sliced pecans. Very good! My wife has developed for bolognese sauce and her meal met her desires. Service was very good but slow; there was only one server that night. It was happy hour when we arrived. The noise level was high and carried because of the high ceiling. Overall we were pleased and will return.

After taking forever, Food was brought out burnt and it was nasty. Had to send it back. Then the waitress had a mood and didn’t speak the rest of the night and rushed through conversation so fast couldn’t even hear her to move on to another table. Won’t be coming back

Our service and food were really good. We will be going back. However, in Winston-Salem, I don't see the reason for a $14 liquor drink or any super high drink prices, for that matter. That is our only complaint. Otherwise, food and service were very good!

An excellent meal. I had the Osso Bucco and my wife the Beef Short Ribs. Both were really well prepared and tasty. We both especially like the ample au jus with each of our plates. Our server was Destiny and she really took care of us.

We went on Mother's Day and graduation weekend, so that probably affected part of our experience. However, shortly after we arrived, the restaurant really thinned out as far as crowd. As of 55 minutes after our reservation time, we still had no food on the table, including the bread that we had asked for. Food was delicious, but we all attacked ours ravenously when it arrived because it took a while.

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The noise level was a little high, but the food and the service more than compensated. Our server, Danielle was pleasant and as efficient as she could be under the circumstances. It was apparent that she was serving a lot of tables, but she found the time to accommodate our needs. She made the experience all the better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for food, service and ambiance!

It was Mother’s Day and we had reservations, We were told it was only brunch being served. The menu was very limited, The Shrimp and grits are sweet please let it be known on the recipe. I was a little disappointed that when we was leaving we seen that they was serve pasta to other guest. A stated they was serving brunch all day but that wasn’t the case..

We made a reservation to celebrate mother’s day. The first problem was that the menu was restricted to salads, few brunch dishes and pizza. Nothing else. Very limited and without any indication of that menu when we were making the reservation. We order 1 salad and 3 Pizzas. The restaurant was 30% of the capacity at the time that we ordered and it took them a full hour to bring us the 3 pizzas. To solved the situation and after I complained they removed 2 glass of wine and 1 mimosa, from the check. No manager or supervisor came to the table to talk or apologize The service was poor, without any attention on details. I understand that the proposal of the restaurant is something new on the area and that is included on the “Roar Building experience “ but definitely the management needs to take more attention to details like those. A lot of things needs to change there to go back to that restaurant.

We were sat for 20 minutes before I got a cup of water. That was after we had to go up to the bar to ask for a cup. The food was fantastic, but the venue was SO loud. There was a bar above and below it so just know what you’re getting into.

We had reservations and were seated. We stayed for 30 minutes and were never acknowledged. I’m sure they were understaffed , but they could have offered us a drink or thanked us for waiting. Food on other tables looked good.

The pasta was some of the best I’ve had. The location inside the food hall really throws off the potential of this place. There was an unfortunate technology hiccup and some rude patrons had no patience for it. I felt bad for the staff. I would like to go back and give it another shot because the food was so good. The drinks were good too.

If you are a fan of Italian food, Est! Est!! Est !!! is the BEST BEST BEST!! Traditional pasta dishes are prepared in a way that elevates them. Special entreés like roast chicken with broccoli rabe or a rich plate of Osso Buco make the menu so much more interesting! We started with homemade focaccia with dipping sauces that definitely pleased the crowd. Plus the bartender nailed all of the drinks, even those mixes not on the menu. The space within ROAR is so comfortable and contemporary (except when the sun is setting through the front window and directly hits the table; a window shade would be a nice addition!). Walking off our meal downtown made for the perfect end to an evening in Winston. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and we are looking forward to coming back!

This was our first experience and we really enjoyed it! A nice wine list. Had the arancini, bruschetta, mussels and pasta bolognese- all of it was delicious! Stacy was our server and she was the perfect mix of knowledgeable, funny and attentive! We’ll be back!

I was really hoping that the mixed reviews I read before coming here had worked there way out. I even understand short staffed situations. Our Waitress Leah was fantastic as she was the only server for at the time 4 tables. She was very poised and professional. We had a reservation for 8 people. It took an hour just to get a salad and a few appetizers. We then noticed others were receiving their appetizers then their meals. Why? The kitchen blamed the waitress but we had a reservation you knew we were coming. The last straw was when the table of 4 came in much later than we did received the meals and we had nothing. After 2 hrs we left no food we cancelled our orders as they had not even been prepared except for 1. ( that made no sense). The management team apologized of course. They made it right but we were still hungry in the end. The bread was good. I’m almost afraid to return for lack of service by the kitchen staff. But thank you to Leah! For your hard work in a tough situation.

Valentine’s Day: We paid for a set menu in which we didn’t receive the dessert from, our order was taken wrong, and our “tiramisu” was not moist and covered in whipped crème. Terrible for what I paid.
