It's my birthday weekend, and I came last night to Esin to celebrate with some friends. Today, I went again with my boss for lunch, and he tells the waiter it's my birthday and the waiter says he remembers me from last night (but he wasn't our server) Anyway, he brings check and no lousy bday dessert, so my boss says, it's her birthday, can we get something with a candle, and then the waiter brings it, without candle, and then charges us for it. Not the biggest deal in the world, but would keep me from coming back soon. Just weird.
Took a friend for her birthday. We were seated in a nice booth. The waiter was amazing... He could tell we had some catching up to do... we chatted for 20 minutes before we let him know we were ready to order. Food is excellent. Had a lovely salad with salmon and we split an apple crumble (they are known for their great desserts)!
Delicious meal paired with excellent service. We will be back!
Esin always delivers. I come here for their pastry chef and insane dessert selections but honestly the food is hard to be beat. We dine around the Danville area quite often and this place has fresh fish specials, great salads, good wine list, excellent desserts. We leave happy every time!
Delightful. And excellent service. Best restaurant in Danville/San Ramon area.
Always creative menu and good service. Dessert is always recommended,
Esin never disappoints. Drinks, Favorite this time include Cheese plate, King Salmon Salad, oysters, Asparagus soup. Desserts are a must, coconut cream pie is the best and the GF banana cream pie is always on the menu and delish!
Had dinner with friends on Wednesday night and was pleasantly surprised. The last couple of times Ive had spotty, downright strange service by servers that didn't really seem to care. But, at this meal we had Matthew, who was excellent. His easy manner, professional style and knowledge of the menu was excellent and my friends first time was made all the better.
He deserves to be acknowledged for being a major part of a successful evening.
The three of us had a great time and our server was excellent. We began our meal with a very tasty flatbread appetizer followed by our different entrees. I ordered the pot roast and was disappointed with the flavor (quite honestly). I wish now I would have ordered the flank steak with the crispy fries and gremolata topping. Our friend (the birthday girl) had ordered it and the other two of us kept asking her for another bite of it. I've at Esin since it originally opened in San Ramon and have always enjoyed every meal I've had. Had the pot roast been surrounded by more onions, carrots and flavors in the gravy, I believe it would have been a lot better. Otherwise, keep up the good work and quality of your food.
Excellent service. Upscale food - best I've had in a while. My salmon and his pork chop were cooked to perfection. Lamb appetizer was amazing. Chocolate/banana dessert with gluten-free crust was TO DIE FOR!
Excellent food and friendly staff. Great cocktails.
Last night was one of many visits that we have made to Esin. My only concern is the $25 charge for corkage. I feel it’s a little excessive however the restaurant is wonderful the food was delicious and as you can see by my ratings we really enjoyed the visit.
Great quality food, creative chef, outstanding daily wine offers. Had a french cab franc.
My favorite restaurant. The desserts are out of this world.
Always a perfect meal! As always leave room for dessert!
3 people, 3 desserts, 3 empty plates!
No rush to eat, a great place to catch up with friends.
I have been to Esin multiple times and it's always been consistently good. The noise level was a little high this time due to a large party seated in the middle of the room, making it difficult to chat in our booth. Other than that, our entrees were good and the dessert was outstanding. Service was fine as well. Look forward to my next visit!
The pot roast at Esin is superb—as are all the dishes
Every time we go here we're never disappointed! The food is truly exceptional, a very creative menu makes it difficult to decide on just one thing! This time I had the Duck Confit served on lentils and veggies with an orange Demi-glaze...beyond fantastic! My husband had the pork chop which was cooked to perfection, very juicy and flavorful. The level of service was 5 star, very attentive and knowledgeable. I couldn't recommend Cafe Esin any higher. My favorite restaurant in the East Bay!
Very friendly and attentive wait staff! Delicious well thought out dishes. Creative cocktails.
First time at this place, it was a nice surprise for being in a bedroom community. Orders a pisco sour to set the mood, it was alright but needed more lemon to be good. The oysters came next, they were good but quite small. Then the Caesar salad, good but not great. Finally the swordfish (they were out of prime rib by 6pm!!!) that was good. However, had to take the Moroccan creamy garnish off because it was too powerful for the taste I was looking for.
There is a good selection of wines by the glass but there were no real stars among them.
One of the best restaurants in the area. Some menu items on the web site were not available. Service is superb. Desert five star.
we had a late reservation at 9:15 pm. After being seated in the inside corner, it took a very long time for anyone to come to our table. Finally a waitress arrived and gave the menu after 10 minutes. Service could have been better. We had the tapas, clam chowder and organic salad for appetizers. All were good though the portions were not big.
We had NY Steak for entree and the grilled swordfish. All were excellent. The only down side was they ran out of the banana cream pie that we loved. We had banana cake instead which was ok but still prefer the cream pie.
Last but not least, highly recommend the pear ginger martini. It is one of a kind ! Will go back for more !
Great food. Salmon was perfectly cooked. Jennie, our server, was excellent.
Wine list was not updated.
Server provided wrong soap of the day.
Always fabulous. Never disappoints! The desserts are to die for😋
Noted birthday in my reservation and nothing was done
Christmas gift card for my friend and me, from her generous husband!
Who runs out of Cabernet Sauvignon in the Bay Area? Esin's evidently. Service was o.k. food was o.k. Ambiance was nice.
Totally just o.k. Nothing bad, but nothing really inspiring.
Always enjoy our visits to Esin.. Best combination of excellent food, service and ambiance in the area.. A favorite!
As always the food was excellent. Love the pot roast. We had a quiet booth this time so much improved conversation. Coconut Cream Tart and Lemon Tart delicious.
We chose this restaurant because the reviews said it was good for quiet conversation. Our table was near the bar and the front door so it didn't meet that expectation. Next time, we'll ask for a table away from the bar. That was our only complaint. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. This will be our new "go to" restaurant in Danville.
food & service were both very good! no additional comments
Wonderful as always! Food was great, and it wasn’t too loud, so good for conversations.
Great food, good service. very attentive. Fantastic Desserts, my Coconut Cream Tart was outstanding, along with the Chocolate peanut butter Cheesecake which I brought to work for my staff. They Loved it! Thank You.
Waiter was fantastic. Food remarkable. Love this restaurant
I have dined here countless times. It is always perfect. I did order an unusual appetizer this time. It was a gnocchi cheese starter. I would not recommend that particular item.
I have been to a great deal of restaurants and have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the service. I felt that the food was good but the ambiance and treatment was very unpleasant and something that I have never and hope no one has to experience.
Not bad for Danville dining. Nice good, good atmosphere. OK prices, good cocktails. Service seemed a bit off to be considered fine dining but acceptable for the price.
I chose Esin for our fiftieth wedding anniversary because we have never had a disappointing meal. Our server Brian was absolutely outstanding.
All courses were excellent. I love creme brulee and have enjoyed it worldwide for many years. Esin did not disappoint. Possibly the best restaurant in Danville and surrounding towns.\
Very comfortable restaurant. Went on a Saturday night, early at 5pm fairly quiet and by 6 it was packed. That explains the time choices we had were for 5 or 8.
Good menu and everything was cooked just right.
Server, Margarita was delightful and engaging.
