Esca is dedicated to showcasing the wines of our estate by pairing them with simple yet elegant food in spectacular Hunter Valley setting. Our food philosophy is to use the best quality local ingredients combined with our own Bimbadgen produce. Right here on site we have our own bee boxes, vegetable garden and extensive citrus orchard.
Our menu has been designed to allow you to design your own tasting experience. You have the option to choose as the number of courses you wish, and in which order you wish to enjoy these. We begin our menu experience with 3 courses, but you can select 4 5 or more if you wish.
To enjoy the full Esca and Bimbadgen experience, we highly recommend you enjoy each dish with our wine pairings. Our Executive Chef, Nick Samaras and Winemaker Richard Done, have carefully selected a perfect wine match to each menu item.

Enjoyed the signature 5 course with matched wines. Great service and view.
Food was average, the fish over cooked and the meat was just meat on a plate. No vegetables or sauce to go with it.
The staff were lovely though and the views beautiful. There was also a nice atmosphere!
Shame about the food.
Good food. Good service. Good wine. Beautiful location.
I haven’t visited Esca for years but I think this will be our new lunch place when we are in Pokolbin. Food and service was brilliant.
This is the first time to come after renovation. Still very good, the menu changed, not as perfect as before, but still very good.
Service was impeccable
Dessert was average
Table was in full sun for all 3 courses
Overall was nice however next time we agreed sitting down stairs with pizza would have been nicer and more comfortable
Food was absolutely beautiful. The service was excellent. We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and we loved it at Esca
Menu- excellent choice and creative structure of the menu.
Service- friendly and attentive
Esca Bimbagen truly creates an experience with a lasting impression from the moment you leave the main road. The grounds are beautiful and easy to navigate, the staff are warm and attentive. The menu is thoughtfully crafted, with each course interesting and beautiful in presentation and palate. The atmosphere had gentle ambience which enhanced conversation and the joint experience of dining.
The sashimi could of used a bit more flavour, I found it very boring. The lamb cutlets were amazing. The panacotta was totally wrong, the panacotta itself was not sweet which I found odd, the rubabarb was super sour. I found none of the components went well together.
Our waiter was very awkward. My mum and I had just met up with brother and his partner and there were lots of hugs and kisses and he interrupted us abruptly if we wanted water. Then we only just sat down and he asked what we wanted to eat. We had to say several times please give us time. I know he was trying very hard but sometimes you have to read the room.
Amazing food, wine and picture perfect views over the Hunter Valley.
Great food, fantastic outlook and good service. Value for money
Wonderful food and service . Just noisy such a shame as we loved everything else
We had the 5 courses matched with wines from Bimbadgen Estate. The service was wonderful - a wine tasting with amazing food! Each course was sensational. Every course so detailed in flavour and presentation. The waitstaff were lovely - attentive and knowledgeable. A fabulous experience which we will be back for in the future. Thank you so much.
Fabulous venue, fantastic food and efficient, friendly service.
Amazing food, wine and experience in the Hunter Valley. We will definitely be back!
Amazing food we did the 5 courses and matching wines. Was such an amazing journey with lots of locally sourced ingredients. Very filling. The soft shell crab was a personal favourite. Delicious. Service was sensational even during a very busy time over Easter Long weekend.
I have been going to Esca's for about 20 years and they just keep getting better and better. EVERY TIME I'm there the food has amazing flavours, the wine is just gorgeous and the service is excellent and personal. This is my absolute favourite restaurant not only in the Hunter Valley but anywhere!!
The view is stunning and the overall experience is outstanding. I will always go to Esca's Bimbaden and know that it will be excellent!
We couldn't fault our lunch. Food was divine and the service was friendly and efficient. They made the birthday girl feel special also. Menu options look amazing and we'll definately be back to try more.
We had been to Bimbadgen and wanted to try Esca with friends who had never been to the Hunter Valley before and we al enjoyed it.
We had a great time dinning at your restaurant. great service and super delicious meals been served.
Thank you so much, will defiantly visit again
Superb meal in a beautiful setting. Not cheap but nonetheless great value
Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. All seven of us very much enjoyed our meal.
We opted for the 'experience' and they were happy to accommodate dietary requests. Food, wine and service were fabulous with the staff remaining professional but fun.
Our second time there. Very enjoyable experience. Like the ability to pick any item on menu
Meals were delicious. Service fantastic. Can't fault at all.
Our lunch at Esca was wonderful thank you. The food was delicious, we had the 3 courses. The choices suited our whole party of 5. We had forgotten to print our tickets for a concert at Hope Estate that evening and the licensee, Sophie, was super helpful in doing this for us from her office. We would highly recommend Esca for an amazing experience.
Wonderful food with great ambience and service, really recommend it!
Absolutely fantastic evening at Esca. The staff, in particular Abby, provided some of the best service I’ve had! Highly recommend!
Honestly very disappointed by every dish except the crab. The mandarin desert was terrible and the curd tasted like butter and had no citrus flavour at all. The dishes were trying to be too creative and lacked the basics.
The staff were very friendly and lovely so I’ll give credit to them.
The food was the biggest let down, we are big foodies and eat all over australia. We travel to go to specific restaurants and were extremely disappointed.
This was a lovely dining experience but i am a vegetarian and I found that the three veg dishes being cheese based was disappointing.
Overall disappointed. Food presented well but lacked flavour.
Sat on verandah as requested but was unaware the pizza restaurant is underneath, music playing from pizza restaurant loud and artist not visible just made it noisy as Esca restaurant music was also playing. Spoilt the ambience.
We booked without knowing what sort of experience we would have and had heard nothing about the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the grandeur of the setting and this alone set the tone for the meal.
The service was outstanding and the meals were small but delicious, worthy of 5 stars.
I would dine here again and I believe the destination deserves to be taken seriously as a place to explore and enjoy.
The food was amazing and it was topped off by the service. Our waitress for the evening - Abby - made the experience even better. Each course was well plated and just enough to allow you to enjoy the rest of the courses. Abby was divine and such a delight with a fabulous knowledge of the menu and beautiful table manner. My sisters and I had such a beautiful evening and will definitely be recommending it to others and going back again soon. The view from the restaurant completed the evening perfectly. Thank you for a great experience.
The wait staff were absolutely lovely and the restaurant itself is a lovely setting. The food however was well below par and a huge disappointment. Maybe they were just having a really off night.
We had the best time. The service, the food and the location were all outstanding. Really good value too compared to similar venues.
One of the best winery lunches I’ve ever had - food was amazing and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating - what more could you ask for!
We were not overly impressed with the food. It was really basic, lacked flavour and dressing. I will not try it again
This was our first trip to Esca Bimbadgen, but not our first trip to the Hunter Valley. Surprised we had never made it here. The meal exceeded expectations for our party of 4. It was nice to be able to choose between 3-5 courses, and did not have to be the same for everyone in the group...especially nice to not be limited to "Choose 1 from each section" either. Will definitely return.
