Ernesto’s is the acclaimed Basque-inspired restaurant from veteran chef Ryan Bartlow, who has worked at world-renowned restaurants, including Akelarre in Spain, Alinea in Chicago, and Frenchette in New York City. At Ernesto’s — which has been named one of The New York Times ‘best new restaurants’ of the year, among other accolades — Bartlow offers a menu inspired by his years spent cooking and living in the Basque region of Spain, mixing signature traditional dishes with seasonal riffs on classic flavors.

Ernesto's is open for dinner Monday from 5:30-9:30pm and Tuesday-Thursday from 5pm-9:30pm with the kitchen closing at 9:45pm, and Fri-Sat 5pm-10pm with the kitchen closing at 10:30pm. We accept reservations and walk-ins. We take reservations up to two weeks in advance with our books opening at midnight.

There is no point in making a reservation. Unfortunately, we got that worse seat ( literally at the door of the bathroom) because we have gone to the restaurant multiple times, but of course, that doesn't matter to the food industry business anymore. The food was good, as always. The service was bad. Advice: use those seats to walk in, not to customers who made reservations; make sure to clean the empty wine glasses ( the table is small), and make sure you serve wine at the correct temperature; please add a sign on the bathroom door to ask the customer to close the bathroom door after use.

Food, as usual was excellent - Pixtos were made to accommodate party of 5 (from 2 pcs. each). Total mount of food suggested and ordered was perfect (4 pixtos, 2 Entradas. and 3 Platos) - and the spectacularly FAMOUS Ernesto's Flan (BEST in the World) ended a most wonderful evening. ALL Staff were likewise excellent, helpful, and informative. A very professional yet warm and welcoming attitude.

Nice authentic Spanish cuisine tucked in a hidden corner by the Willamsburg bride. NYC needs more places like this

Jake was an amazing server/manager. Just made the whole experience wonderful. Food was incredible. Vibe was great. Excellent experience all around!
