Great view and great food for perfect night, I would like to recommend this place
The setting for our party of three on upper level patio looking at evening lights of Bay Bridge was beautiful. My six-ounce medium rare filet was perfect. We loved the Sazerac cocktail special and Paraduxx Napa Valley Zinfandel.
Great outdoor patio dining with a view of the bay bridge. Tables spaced out properly for a safe dining experience. Food and drinks on point. Overall we had a great Saturday afternoon at Epic.
Weekend brunch/luncheon their outdoor patios is an awesome experience and we locals love EPIC, the food, the inimitable service, the ambience and it’s pooch friendly too! Thee are not recently built patios - they were originally built with the restaurant so it’s the real deal. Dinner is cool: and you get Bay Bridge Lights show with it! Truly a San Francisco treat Saturday we indulged in Caesar Salads with Jumbo Garlic Prawns and a loaf of their homemade warm sourdough! Life is good at EPIC
Fantastic view of the Bay and Bay Bridge. Good service and food. Fairly quiet outdoor.
Order did not come out as requested but overall I enjoyed the food and the view and will come again next time. I hope that they can stick with a permanent menu instead of switching out foods in case people develop their favorites.
Excellent ambience and outdoor seating is amazing right on the water front overlooking the bay bridge. Food is very good but limited menu items. Oysters were not available:( Service is good, food is good, prices are a bit on the hi side. Overall would recommend and go back often.
This is a must go in San Francisco! Best location, amazing food, outstanding service!
Absolutely lovely spot to sit, eat good food, and enjoy the wonderful view of the bridge.
Overall it was a great dining experience but with 2 very notable exceptions:
1.) Upon arrival we were seated at a table all the way in the back in front of the kitchen and almost inside the restaurant
I had made my reservation weeks earlier and specifically requested a table outside
I told the Maitre’D that I was not happy with the table and within 5 minutes we were moved up front to a lovely table outside
2.) We ordered a split Caesar salad. My husband cut into the lettuce and a huge piece of light green paper was there! I immediately summoned our waiter and he apologized profusely and immediately said he would be showing it to his manager and the $14 salad would be removed from our bill. That was well done! However, the Manager never came to our table to apologize or make us aware that he knew anything about this.
The food was not what we expected. Not sure if covid had anything to do with it. But the experience was just not the same and would have much had somewhere else for dinner.
The food was average at best. Having said that, we have had a better meal there in the past. So not sure if it was a rough night or if they are going downhill. Regardless, the environment still makes it a nice night out.
Outdoor seating during COVID reopening at the foot of the Bay Bridge. Great view. Every bit of food I ordered was outstanding. Seasonal salad, ny strip, Julia Child potatoes (unbelievably good au gratin potatoes made with gruyere cheese and cream), apple crisp.
You must... MUST... ask for Diedre as your server. She is a Dubliner by birth and she is absolutely wonderful.
Great food, service, and views! The outside tables were safely doistanced, everyone wore a mask, and the tables were properly sanitized after tables turned over. We'll def be back.
Great Food & Wonderful Outdoor Venue
Lovely spot, view, service. Cocktails, great; coffee/espresso, great. Appetizers, thumbs up for the nuts. Entrees, desserts, not so much. Next time, I’d gladly go for happy hour, but not dinner.
I have dined here twice and both times were excellent. Recently I had a table on a rooftop patio and that was a very romantic and distanced experience. All tables I have been to have a beautiful view of the bay bridge, which is icing on the cake for a restaurant that already has five star quality food and drinks, and service! I'd highly recommend this restaurant for classy girls nights or for more intimate date nights. This place has served me well fo both.
Best steak in San Francisco!!
Great restaurant and service 😊
Nice restaurant that handily beat my expectations. All appetizers (cauliflower gnudi, steak tartare and chicken mousse crostini were outstanding. We shared a steak frites s our main dish, and it was very good too, the skirt steak part, but not the rater meh frites. Chocolate mousse was a disappointing desert.
The service was nice, efficient and unimposing.
Generally a very pleasant, and not particularly pricey, restaurant. Mostly good and somewhat interesting cooking, and rather unpretentious (a rare good thing in SF, especially its touristy part).
Would go back definitely
Perfect place, beautiful and with the most privileged location, I will never forget the experience of this delicious dinner with the view of the Bay Bridge behind
Was a wonderful birthday treat for my boyfriend, loved the atmosphere!
The service and food were delicious excellent! Staff are friendly and professional, especially the wait staff. The cauliflower cacio e pepe is a must with some crusty French bread. The chocolate mousse with hazelnut is just dreamy. I need to go back ASAP!
The food was fantastic. Service was not very personable. We still had a great time regardless.
Ambience and service was great. Food was not good. The potato was runny, steak was under season, soup didn’t have much flavor. The heirloom tomato & the chocolate mousse dessert was good. Overpriced for the quality of food.
Overbooked - difficulty seating parties on time.
Food was nothing special - classic steak house.
Good steak. Appetizers and sides are slightly above average.
A perfect place to eat outside with a great view of the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island. The service was excellent and the food was so yummy.
A special dinner for our anniversary. Asher made sure that the food and service were both superb. It was truly a meal and dining experience to remember for a long, long time.
The service was great, the view incredible, we were right on the front with great views of the Bay Bridge.
The down side were two cheap metal tables in front of us with people passing and sitting down and eating their take-out (not related to the restaurant).
So I'd give 7-8 for the service because the table hadn't been cleaned and wasn't cleaned during the meal.
For the view, an 8, would have been a 9 but for the nasty metal tables at the front where non-patrons just sat down and ate, everything from McDonalds to other nasty fast food.
In terms of the food at EPIC, I would give it a 4.
The overall experience gets an 8 because of the view and great service (except the dirty table).
Masks and distancing during Covid was excellent and the staff and Maitre D did a great job and were personably.
Service and food were amazing. It was a lovely evening, sitting outside with the view of the bay bridge was fantastic!
Great place to eat a nice steak in a great setting!
Whether it's outdoor seating, scaled-down staff, or just cost-cutting across the board, Epic Steak got worse compared to the several times that I visited it in the last five years. Normally it was my favorite restaurant in SF, but now there is really nothing special. Here is what changed:
- The food menu is trimmed down
- There is no wine menu at all
- No bread service
- Food presentation and quality went down. For example beef tartare used to be finely minced with a quail egg on top, and this time it was chewy and without an egg. We also compared pictures we took in February vs now and the difference is very evident.
- I was not too impressed with the ribeye steak. Quality seems worse than Costco.
- Staff makes mistakes while taking orders.
On the positive side, outdoor seating has a nice view of the Bay Bridge and the food and service are still adequate. They just don't meet the expectations that were previously set. The Steak is no longer Epic.
Beautiful outdoor venue. Tasty steak and frites. Good service
What an amazing experience. The setting, the surrealism of our state of affairs.... Truly magical.
Food was excellent, had Julia Child potatoes with Acme bread as appetizer great call. Steak Frites and Smash Burger both hit the spot for our lunch. Server Adam was excellent, will be going back soon. Oh yes the setting was spectacular, great outdoor venue.
I'm so happy to be able to go out again and Epic Steakhouse was one of my first choices.
Excellent steaks and cocktails, and the service was, like always -perfect!
The view is terrific, the company was wonderful, and the service was excellent.
Dined at Epic Steak on September 24, 2020. Awesome view of the Bay Bridge and waterfront. I was a little disappointed, but not surprised, by the limited menu options, most likely due to the ongoing pandemic. I had the steak frites and it was well prepared. Minor gripes: $6.00 for bread and butter? Most restaurants serve that as an accompaniment. Amaretto sour, where the Amaretto is charged separately from the sour? That's a new one on me. The service was good, but I would've appreciated the cleaning of the breadcrumbs from the table before the appetizer and main corses. Overall, a good visit despite the few hiccups.
Came to celebrate my brother birthday and everything was amazing! Great staff, great food, great ambiance and views. Will definitely be back.
