It was my 3rd time back when in SF it's always great food service is good just a little noise but it's fine with me.
Great service and quality of food. It was a wonderful birthday celebration. Can’t wait to go back
Food was excellent albeit VERY expensive. Wine list VERY expensive. Noise level very high.
The views are spectacular but the food was average. I expected much more. Service was good.
Food was great. Menu is broad enough for varied tastes. Great wine list. Service was attentive.
Great place for a n Xmas dinner
After going to a 49ers game this Sunday myself and my son visited Epic Steak. There are two dining rooms at epic, the main room to very nice and has stunning views of the bay, the second room was a outside plastic add on of the restaurant with a heater, mind you it was about 5 degrees so they kindly provided a blanket to wear while eating! After taking one look at us in our casual clothing and after being profiled we were taken to an empty outside section! I noted there was plenty of room in the main dining section and wanted to know why I was not seated in there, they did move me but made us feel 2nd rate humans. They could not serve us quick enough and we had finished within 45 mins. Food was fine but be prepared to be profiled at the main entrance......
One of best steak experiences ever! Great place!
Incredible setting on the bay. Light show of the Bay Bridge. Amazing cuts of beef. Really ettentive service! Would go back again. And again. When I can afford it.
We were 15 minutes late and Epic was perfectly understanding. We had an excellent dinner and beautiful view of the bay bridge.
Great Food! Delicious Filet Miagnon. Juicy tender and tasty. Nice mood lighting and excellent customer service and Red Headed Waitress. However, it’s way too loud and very difficult to have a conversation. It was a business dinner. Thank god it wasn’t a date. The noise level spoiled the dinner. I wouldn’t go back for only that reason. In addition, even though I booked in advance and asked for a view window, we got seated almost in a back corner obstructed view table. That’s sucks!!! I felt like I was sitting in the upper deck at the LA Coliseum.🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨 Go Old School Next time to the Cliff House Restaurant and Guaranteed to get a view window if requested and noise level is perfect for conversstion
The whole experience was amazing ! We were visiting from Atlanta and this place was recommended to us... hands down the best steaks we’ve ever had! We both got the filet mignon and shared the potatoes and Brussels. Everything was incredible and the service was just as great! Definitely recommend this place and you’ll get a nice view of the bay bridge :)
For the top-tier steakhouse prices that EPIC charges, they should be able to properly cook and season a steak. In my party of 3, we all ordered the ribeye ($66), medium-rare. They all arrived cooked differently -- mine raw and cold on the inside, one rare, and the third actual medium-rare. The steaks were also under-seasoned.
The location and view are outstanding, but the main event of a steakhouse should be the steak, and that disappointed.
I had the bacon cheddar burger. I was a little disappointed due to the bacon was burnt and the burger was sitting in a small puddle of grease. French fries were very good!
The filet mignon presented to me was below average in terms of cuts of meat and preparation. Very disappointing. My children think I was “yelling” at the staff when in fact I was communicating my disappointment when I sent it back. Too bad because the restaurant is beautiful and the service was excellent. Who decides to present such a low grade quality of beef to a customer??? EPIC should know better. Thank goodness it was my filet and not my daughter’s. We won’t be returning.
We loved it!
the waitress was pushing us to purchase the most expensive items (epic dinner for two) and spoke too quickly for me to really understand the menu
steak was great
prime rib was ok
they forgot one side and one apertif
for $500 (for four people) i think i could have done better somewhere else
Service was amazing!
Great food and ambiance; great treatment for my husband’s birthday.
overall, epic. Hadn't been there for a while. Great place for out of town clients
We had a large party of 10 celebrating a birthday. The ambiance in the shadow of the Bay Bridge is lovely, but the food was sub par especially when you consider the price level. Neither the menu nor the waiter mentioned that our fillets would be swimming in a red wine reduction sauce which I would have never ordered plus the quality of the meat was extremely fatty. There are many more steakhouse options in SF that I would choose over this one!
Hostess was accommodating to move us a little earlier. Food is amazing. Service terrific and attentive, well paced. This is one of our top favorites and it never gets old.
Treated us extra special right from arrival and throughout the night!
Great, attentive staff. They made us feel special on our anniversary. Best steak I ever had. Pricey but worth it. Amazing view of bay bridge
We've been going to Epic for a few years, and this was the first time in the dining room. Frankly, the bar is better - better view, and better service. The food was good, as always!
Great food and good service. Highly recommended
We were very pleased with our experience and will return soon. I would recommend this Restaurant to all my associates.
Everything was great, everyone in my group enjoyed their meal except for my meal. I had ordered a piece of steak and it was not warm or "hot" fresh out of the heat. I can tell it was sitting for a while. I was disappointed with my meal but like I said everyone else's orders were great.
One the best places that I’ve experience. Will recommend to others.
Great filet mignon! Great service! Our server Dana was wonderful!
Our server was great-very attentive. I was very disappointed w/ the steak-as was my friend. I was shocked that it didn’t have much flavor and it didn’t taste like a quality meat. I had high expectations and was sadly disappointed, I love steak and I wanted to try epic-probably the only steakhouse I haven’t been to in the city. I was sadly disappointed
Above and beyond service, food, and experience. Was a little quiet for early in the evening but enjoyable none the less. Great view of the bay bridge.
Very likely one of the best overall dining experiences I have ever had
Overall, disappointing. Tuscan porterhouse ordered medium rate was overcooked and flavorless; Caesar salad less than ordinary. Great cocktails and impressive wine list could not overarch unbearable level of noise. Impossible to hold a conversation, even at an intimate table for two. We read this was the best steak house in San Francisco. No.
Great service and excellent food! Definitely would go back, though it's pretty pricey.
Excellent seafood and steaks. Great for a romantic dinner overlooking the bay or a business dinner like mine. Also an extensive wine list and great cocktails.
The food was very good and the ambience was great. Pretty expensive though.
EPIC was not Epic. It was mediocre. Yes they gave us a nice little anniversary dessert but it was over priced. Their view of the bay is nice if you are seated outside. The taste of the food wasn't anything spectacular. It was okay and okay is not good enough when you are paying more than $30 dollars a plate. Upscale pricing for casualnding experience. Their service was good. The waiters and servers were amazing to us.
Service was great, Food was not so great. My wife’s fillet mignon came out mushy in the middle (not consistent with the texture of steak) and smelt bad. I’m unsure what was wrong with it, but unfortunately she had already eaten the other half(which was not smelly or mushy). The staff was very apologetic and gave us a complimentary desserts and wine. I’m sure it was a bad cut, however, the chef preparing a $60 piece of meat should have been aware and stopped it from being served. To top it off, we are from San Antonio, Texas and it was our anniversary dinner :(
Despite the free dessert and good service, we left with a bad taste in our mouths’ and it ruined our evening with upset stomachs for the remainder of our SF trip
