Excellent small plates. Great craft cocktail choices. Many very good wines by the glass
So glad to get back to our favorite place! Jason, our server, and the rest of the staff at Eno Vino West made us feel safe and comfortable by taking every precaution possible.
And as always, the wine was outstanding and the food was exceptional. Looking forward to returning again soon.
Always a great experience - flavorful food - great service - had Jeff the last couple of times - he is very good -
Our waiter was super slow and very inattentive ...
Amazing-as always. We had a late evening reservation so the wait staff was able to be very attentive but not overbearing. Food was picture-worthy, prepared perfectly and at perfect temperature. Cocktails - WOW! They’ve changed the foie gras from a delicate slice to a terrine and I prefer the former preparation more - purely personal preference because the terrine is delicious. I’ve not had better scallops anywhere- perfectly fork tender with a delicious outer sear. Counting the days until a return trip!
Tapas are a way to get one to pay more for less. That much is clear, but given that, the dishes were all very good and well presented.
Always love the creative food/wine flavors and choices.
Servers are knowledgeable and can help in making food choices and meal pacing.
This is our place when we want a little fancy dinner. We bring our friends and family from out-of-town here all the time, but if it's a birthday or anniversary, we go a bit more upscale. The food and service are pretty reliable and the dining room and bar are cozy, especially in the winter with the fireplace.
This past Saturday was our first time in several months and there were new items on the menu. We began with the bruschetta, which is a standard. We like the brie & apple, mozzarella, the smoked salmon (think lox and bagels), and Mediterranean. My husband wanted to try the Chicken Trio, but they were out, so he went for his old standby Chicken Skewers. They were well prepared and he always asks to switch the pork wontons out for a few more skewers. He had enough to bring half home--it's a generous dish with skewers and two dipping sauces. I tried the Fruit de Mer--scallops, clams, mussels, shrimp, octopus, calamari, chorizo, and potatoes. I know, I'm not on a coast, but I love love seafood. I thought it might be served in a bowl, but it came out on a plate covered in frisée. which it didn't need. I am not a fan of octopus, calamari, or chorizo and they kindly took those off and added more of the other fish. The scallops were the best part of the dish. Sometimes scallops taste bitter to me, but these were sweet and very tender. The clams were chewy and the mussels were moosh. The shrimp were tiny. I love shrimp, so even though they were well cooked, I could barely find them. Still the dish wasn't bad. It was savory and was in a nice sauce. I just wish the all the fish was better (save the scallops which were excellent) and it was in a bowl with a crusty piece of toast like bouillabaisse or cioppino. My husband had the rum raisin ice cream. He liked it and said the raisins were a surprise--chewy. There were shortbread biscuits served with the ice cream that were delicious, but also a bit soggy. Do not stick cookies in ice cream! Still it was a good meal.
Fantastic experience on Valentine's Day. The prix fixe menu was a delight, with a wide array of tastes and excellent wine pairings. Our service team was excellent on a busy night.
The 5 course meal for valentines was great, Alyssa was a great server!
We went for Valentine’s Day which had a set menu for the evening. We love Eno Vino because of the variety so the set menu was a different experience for us there. The food was great as usual but the experience felt much more mechanical and not as intimate.
I’d definitely recommend Eno Vino because they are amazing but would probably avoid the rush on a night like Valentine’s Day in the future.
Food and wine were perfect, some of the best I've ever had. Staff was incredibly friendly and professional, it was the perfect Valentine's Day experience.
Annual Valentines Day special menu did not disappoint, given the number of tables, it was moderately noisy at times but it also provided opportunities to visit with people at neighboring tables. Food absolutely out of this world good!
Valentines Day. A crazy evening for any restaurant, but Eno Vino West handled it amazingly well. Incredibly organized, friendly efficient waitstaff and a really great meal.
Once again, the special 5 course Valentine's day meal with the wine flight was outstanding! This is the best fine dining event Madison has to offer, in my view. The attention to detail and the attentive friendly staff made this a six star evening! Can't wait for next year.
It took way too long for our food to be served. when I said something the servers said that "we like to pace the food." I told her that I like the food together so we can enjoy the different things together. I ended up filling up on truffle fries because the pizzas took forever to come out and well after that, at least 15 minutes the pork came out. Very disappointed. She was sometimes MIA also. We were there for 3 hours, partly because we enjoyed the people we were with, but a lot had to do with the slow delivery of our food. The restaurant was not even very busy.
Noisy. The resteraunt could use some booths & noise buffers. However, no matter how noisy the place is, the tapas will keep us coming back again & again. It is our go to restaurant!
We reserved a table during restaurant week because we always go to a different restaurant during that time. Eno vino was our choice this time and it was a good one. I am intolerant to gluten and the set menu was no problem except both desserts contained gluten and there were no substitutions. Thus I had to order off the menu. I chose something very close to the special menu and it actually was less cost than the set menu in which I would not have gotten a dessert. It all worked out and the food was excellent but the $35 special dinner cost for Restaurant Week was not actually special. The place got noisy as it filled up. Service was excellent. Over all, we were very happy.
Great all the way around
Phenomenal food, excellent service. Highly recommend this energetic tapas place with great drinks too! They also have a great happy hour if you are looking to enjoy their location without paying full price. West side bonus of not having to worry about finding parking!
As always, great food and attentive but not intrusive service (our server was terrific). Best Crème Brûlée in Madison and probably hundreds of other restaurants as well!
This was my first (the second for my partner) visit to the west side Eno Vino (her first visit was a work event). I thoroughly enjoyed our small plate, pre movie night dinner! We ordered the soup du jour, which was a potato leek. Delicious. Next, was the meatballs. Also quite good. Finally, we shared a Thai flat bread and the assorted crostini (carb coma, anyone??), which were very, very satisfying. My partner had the special sangria, and I had an up vodka (Chopin) martini, dirty, with blue cheese olives. Both very satisfying and delicious! However, and this is a good thing, the best part was our server Jeff. He was very professional, and very friendly. We'd love to come back and explore the expansive menu and wine list.
We come here several times/year. Generally know what we like and what is good. This time the crab cakes were not up to par. I would not order again for awhile. Love the tomato soup and pork tacos. Will stick with those. Truffle fries are excellent. Can be noisy when the dining is gets full. Then ask to eat at the bar or near the fireplace.
As always, our trip to Eno Vino was excellent and we had a wonderful time and meal. First time for the crab cakes and they are fabulous. No matter what we order, it turns out to be a dining experience to be remembered.
We had a great time, good service. The mixed drinks were a little disappointing though.
Food and service was excellent.
Somewhat annoying was that we had a 9:15 reservation and as we were walking in at 9:16 the desk had already called us to see where we were, and were we sure we knew we were coming to the West side and not downtown. I had already confirmed this with a previous call. I understand this is probably a problem for you but I had already confirmed restaurant location.
Loved every minute. Our server was kind, personable , nd made the experience simply perfect. The lobster was amazing!
Went for my wife's birthday dinner. Our waiter was courteous but not particularly warm, as prior waiters have always been more friendly and helpful. Prices seem to have gone up considerably since our last visit (might have been in February). We have always loved the bruschetta as a first course, it seemed less tasty this time. Perhaps it was our circumstances, but our experience on this visit left us on a sour note. The combined cost of the wine and the food on this visit seemed (to us) to not be a good value. Left us disappointed.
Our server wasn’t attentive. He got one drink order wrong. I asked for more water and it never came. He asked if we were ready for our check before we ordered our second course. We had to flag him down to order our second course. He asked again if we were ready for our check before offering us the dessert menu. The third time he didn’t ask us if we wanted our check...he just brought it. We wanted separate checks for both couples but he brought only one check which we ended up putting down two credit cards to split the bill. Not fair to the other couple because we had more drinks.
We were not happy with the location of our table: all the way back in the corner...farthest you can walk and one person in our party used a cane. There were many other tables available. Poor decision on the part of the receptionist.
Hi Joanne, We're so sorry to hear that your experience with us was less than perfect. We can assure you that the experience you described is not at all the level of service we strive to offer to each and every one of our guests. We will be addressing these issues with your server and host, and will be sure to prevent this issues from happening again going forward. Thank you very much for your feedback, and we hope to see you again soon!
Just a wonderful meal--tapas style--so my husband and I shared 4 plates. The food was especially delicious, and we have already planned what we will order the next time we go, and we would like to bring friends with us. This was our first time here, and the restaurant is beautiful. It was very crowded but it was not overly loud. The meal took a little longer than we expected, but we were not in a hurry so it worked out well. We were there a little over 2 hours. We will definitely return.
Absolutely amazing!! I love the contrast in atmosphere between the two locations. This one fills the role of intimacy between the parties members of each table. Great menu both for drinks and food!! A must visit location in the Madison area..
Excellent food, great wine selection, and outstanding service. Again. Don't miss the new squash tempura with dukka sauce. Irresistible!
Nice place for Tapas style food. Service good. Wine selection good. Cocktails very weak...we did not taste any alcohol at all in them and they are very expensive. We are not big drinkers. One drink per meal.
Setting is nice.
Even though the bar was slammed when my wife and I arrived at Eno Vino, one of the bartenders Hannah made me a margarita just perfectly and even brought it our table. The food was awesome, and my wife and I made sure not to order too much (as we have ordered too much in past visits). Little things like what Hannah did makes us certain to come back.
It was great as always--just wish the truffle fries were crisp.
Always a fantastic choice to enjoy wonderful wine and share plates. This is a top choice I recommend to Friends, family and visitors I talk with.
Food was great. Maybe a little more salt than I’m used to. Service was fine. I made a reservation, showed up on time, was seated by host but got a nasty voice mail about missing my reservation and not cancelling. As well as an email from this service. I called back to clarify that I’d eaten there, 7:15 - 8:45, Emily was my server, and dropped 140 bucks and Nova said “so I’m just supposed to take your word”. Uh, yeah, you are Nova.
While I’d recommend the food to anyone, I doubt I’d go back based on that uppity response. This isn’t LA it’s Wisconsin. Get over yourself Nova.
Food and service were excellent.
The atmosphere is dark and being a "bistro" it means too loud for many.
Especially loud when two groups of 8 women are all trying to talk over each other which was our experience on this night.
Excellent meal and service!
