FRIDAY: Bob Wren joins Anam Caram’s Traditional Celtic Music with fiddle, mandolin, and octave mandolin. SUNDAY: Lions of the North is a vocally driven IRISH Celtic band, playing many of your favorite traditional Celtic songs, Sea Shanties, and some originals as well, Featuring 3 part harmonies, Guitar, Bodhran, and Accordion.

    Our first of what I am sure will be many more visits! Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Went there for a ladies day out and this was everything we had hoped and more! We are already planning our next dinner there!

    Charming experience with sweet, exuberant server. Food was great. We loved the cheese fondue, salads and main dishes. Only complaint was that all our food came at the same time - with no space for main dishes with all the salads and fondue already on the table. This led to lukewarm main courses. Also, the benches we sat on have seen better days in terms of soft cushioning - we were in the cathedral. Nevertheless, a unique experience with good food.

    Very rude hostess. Said that our table lights could not be fixed nor could we switch tables.(this was when the majority of the restaurant was open)Fortunately manager easily plugged lights in. Waited a very long time for drinks and food. (30 minutes for hot tea) Waited a long time for check. Hostess rudely told us that we needed to leave our table because others were waiting before we had received our check. Don’t mind paying for a good experience but I do have a problem paying for poor service. Hopefully they will train the hostess to behave appropriately)The overall staff seemed very stressed. They actually had to ask at the end what we had ordered to run the check. Would be helpful to have enough light to read the menu too. I had very I hopes for this restaurant but left disappointed.

    I felt like we paid for the experience. My daughter loved the atmosphere, it felt magical. We did the fondue and it was not very good. We did however smell the pasty pie and it smelt good, so I would recommend trying that vs. the fondue. I do not think we would visit again unless we were in the area.

    This was an absolutely amazing experience. The service and ambiance were incredible. We had the fondue course dinner which was excellent. I can’t wait to return here the next time I visit Placerville.

    The service is excellent. For me the several menu items that are gluten makes it a place I can go to and get good gluten free food. I like the variety of food choices and after two dining experiences I know I’ll definitely be going back. The atmosphere is unique and very peaceful. Next time it’s a gluten free pasty I think.

    This was a wonderful experience, we met a friend here for her bday and it was not disappointing. Although it might be a bit pricey, well worth it, the food was delicious and the service evern better. Everyone was "so friendly"; we will be back! Great evening.

    So hot and uncomfortable air circulation in that place is really poor. Really hard to enjoy the meal when they kept making mistakes and having to replace the dishes.

    This is an interesting little spot. The concept of being deep in a magical forest somewhere is interesting. The food is also very good. I would say the Sea Food isn't the best, but everything else was 100%. My Filet was spot-on as I requested and the service, good lord the service is TOP NOTCH at this place. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food in a special environment!

    Our table was not ready at the reservation time. We had to wait an additional 30 minutes for a table that wasn’t even ours originally. Our waitress brought us a lemonade we didn’t order, and forgot 1/2 our drinks, and put the wrong food in front of us when our food was ready. My boyfriend’s and my forks had remnants of food on them, so when we asked the waitress for new utensils she replied: “oh sometimes they get stained.” When she returned with clean forks she told us “I can confirm that it was fondue cheese on your forks.” I didn’t want/need to know what was on the used forks. I just wanted new utensils. My friend asked what something was on her plate, and when she commented it was “interesting” the waitress snapped and said “if you don’t want to eat it, set it aside.” We were almost done with our dessert at 9pm when the staff started turning up the music louder and louder to let us know that they wanted us to leave, even though the restaurant doesn’t close till 9:30.

    Such a great place for a special occasion. I tried the mead. Never had before and didn't really care for it but it was fun to try. I had a crepe that was excellent and a great gluten free option. The place is a little dark so reading the menu is a challenge. You'll need to use your cell phone light which is a little annoying. The service was okay. Very friendly staff but didn't do great refilling water and clearing when we were done. It is possible they were a little short staffed for our visit. Staffing seems to be a problem everywhere these days.

    Bailey is a server I have had twice at this restaurant and likes to stand behind the couples (two people table) by the point of sale and flirt loudly with his fellow employees. The overall food and ambience was nice but don't expect and intimate time at the two person tables in the back you either hear toilets flushing or you hear loud giggling at the point of sale machine. Mead is excellent highly recommend that.

    The waiter gave us samples of mead and explained the alcohol content. He explained the menu. We decided on 2 different dishes to share. He brought one that was right and one that was wrong, said he would reorder the missing one and bring us 2 smaller plates to divide the one that was right, which he never did. We finished the first one by the time we got the second one, requested small plates which we got. The food was very good. An Irish trio played and they were good. I asked for a desert menu and we got a flourless chocolate cake to split, very good. It was dark when we arrived so we need our cellphone flash lights to read the menu. It was pretty loud. Overall it was cute, food good.

    A totally unique menu and amazing ambience makes this place worth the drive from Sacramento. I’ve been twice. The pot pies, fondue and shrimp are amazing. Where else can you get mead?

    Ambiance and the lighted headbands were great. Food very, very good and interesting variety! I came to hear the Irish music on my birthday, but it was loud inside and no mic for the singers. It was good when I could hear it. Service was a little slow.

    I took my granddaughter there and she was amazed and overwhelmed at the beautiful setting. They gave her a little light up crown as soon as we came in and it all started from there to be a wonderful experience. This was my first time there and I did it for my granddaughter. Now I'll be coming back because the food and service was also fantastic

    This was a magical experience. It really felt like you were transported into a far off forest dancing and making merry with the fae folk. I definitely recommend it. The mashed potatoes were phenomenal!! I also tried mead for the first time, and I have to say it is my new favorite.

    I had been eagerly anticipating a visit to this place for years, imagining a magical experience filled with fairy crowns and enchantment. So, when Friday night arrived, I thought it was the perfect time to take my daughter somewhere special. I made an online reservation and called ahead to secure a good seat under the enchanted tree. But upon arrival, our reserved table had been given away, and we were seated in a poorly lit booth next to the dishwasher. The service was slow, taking 15 minutes to bring our drinks, and the food was disappointing, with pre-cooked meat for the fondue. Even my daughter was unimpressed. The waitress suggested a closed crystal shop next door for a gift, adding to the letdown. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience. I wouldn't return and recommend trying a more reputable place like The Melting Pot for a better dining experience. The owner has since responded to my review on yelp and called it fake. When confronted she said she feels it is real, but not accurate. If you choose to waste the time and money on this place, I truly hope you leave an honest review so that people won't be as let down as my family & myself were. Not just in the restaurant but the character of the owner. I would NEVER go back and will encourage any and everyone I know to go elsewhere.

    Such a fun experience, would definitely recommend and go again. My only slight improvement would be that it was a bit too warm and it wasn’t a hot day so on a hot day it might be too hot inside.

    Hoped to be able to give more positive review. Once seated by hostess we were not waited on for 20 minutes by server and had to ask for service . Silverware was dirty on 2 place settings. Once we placed order it was also a very long wait for appetizer and main course. Meal was ok but nothing to write home about. We each ordered the crepes. Definitely a little disappointed as we drove to Placerville from Auburn specifically to try out this restaurant. Cute inside but not quite as ambient as photos looked, a little rundown inside.

    Fun place to go for a unique dining experience. This was my 2nd time. Serving staff good, but need to stay on top of their drink service. Both visits have found that repeated requests for water go unanswered! Also, this visit found a customer bringing a little dog not the restaurant with their party of 5-6. I love dogs, but not at a public eating place like this.

    Lots of fun, this is a unique experience in Placerville, I really like this place. Service is good but not excellent. If you dine here you will likely walk away pleased with your decision. Only place in 50 miles to get fondue! So it has that going for it!!

    We had the fondue experience and the Guiness glazed salmon. It was fantastic. The Irish name was playing and the ambience was perfect for the teen girls in my party. Absolutely make time to stop on the road to or from South Lake Tahoe. Downtown Placerville is super cute and The Enchanted Forest is a gem.

    We had a fantastic lunch experience at Enchanted Forest. It is a surprising find in a historic mining town. Coming from the Gold Bug historic mining site and audio tour, being very hot and tired, the AC was very welcome. We had reservations and were seated promptly. We just loved the ambience, the decorating and the light-up flowered crowns presented to everyone (included). The menu had so many good choices, everyone was happy with their meal. Service was great. Such a nice whimsical respite from a hot California day!
