Enchanted Forest Dining Experience
We had a very good experience. Three of us for dinner were pleased with service, selections, and food quality. Going of Friday night proved to be quite full so "distancing" was a bit tight. Suggest you try other nights if this concerns you but by all means TRY IT!
AMAZING!!! Best gluten free options!!! Such fun restaurant for all types of dining. It's perfect for a date night or a night out with the family.
Make sure you specify if you want to have fondue when making the reservation. Only certain tables can accommodate the fondue.
Great choices for vegan and non vegan food! Our server brought us a serving of chocolate fondue that was amazing. Great date night!
Unique and fun experience with amazing food!! My husband had the braised beef...he loved it. I had the scallops...they were amazing!!! We shared the blackberry pie...never had anything quite like it....amazing!!!
Great, always. Can wait for my next meal. Great food and meid so good.
Our server was very friendly and helpful. The place was so cute and the food was absolute perfection. The Filet Mignon was AMAZING!
Outstanding dinner during a very challenging time. We loved everything they served and the staff was fantastic. We will definitely go back.
What a fun, unique atmosphere and experience! My daughter and I went for New Years Eve dinner so it was pricier than normal but because of the whole experience, I didn’t mind at all! The champagne was not good (flavored and too sweet) but they made it up to us by not charging for our beer replacement, which was served in mugs with messages on the bottom! The vegetarian lasagna was not my favorite- too much Tempe which I decided I didn’t like but my daughters steak was wonderful! The desserts and chocolate port were heavenly!!! To top it off we each got a crown w flowers and lights!!!! The private little foresty cubicle was so awesome along with the virtual fireplace! It’s our new favorite place!! Thank you for such a great experience and Bailey, our waiter was awesome!!!
Our first time here. The ambience was great! The Staff was great! The food was great! The value was great! 😃👍
We love Enchanted Forest. Something for everyone including our vegetarian, nut-free, gluten-free daughter.
Very cute place, good food! Only complaint was they were a little slow getting to us initially, no one at the host station.
Great find in a sweet little downtown. They really go above and beyond with all accommodations. I wanted to sit inside and out. Unique place.
We had the most amazing dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had our very own little cozy room with fur blankets and cushions. They have monitors in each little built room with a fireplace streaming. We loved being outside listening to the rain fall on the roof of these tiny makeshift private areas. The waitress Samantha was the sweetest so efficient. It was our first time there and we will be back for sure!
They gave my kids these handmade light up crowns. My son and I shared the fondue 4 course dinner that was delicious and my husband had the braised beef and said it was outstanding. Wonderful place...
I can’t wait to go back with some friends and have the Fondue! again!!
They really are careful and respect the Covid guidelines!
Oh. The food. Very good!
See you very soon!
We love this place! Amazing ambiance! Great food and love the gluten free options. The staff is always so nice and silly. It really is a great date night or special occasion place for sure!
First, we chose this as an interesting option for our anniversary dinner. It is a little different atmosphere of forest and elves. The music a bit loud, making it hard to talk. 25 minutes before a server came to the table, but good service after that. Limited menu. $27 for a filet is a good deal. Adding a couple bland, anemic oven-baked shrimp and scallops for $5, not so much. The mashed potatoes are very good. The roasted veggies were barely roasted and raw (baby carrots and broccoli). The filet was a decent piece of meat, with good flavor for a filet. I suspect it was done on a flat grill. A little more attention, or training?, to doneness. My wife ordered hers medium, while I prefer medium rare. Both steaks were barely medium rare, bordering on rare. Fine for me, but inedible for her. Overall, a little disappointed at this point. Dessert fared no better. Ordered the Jack Daniel's pecan pie with caramel sauce to share. It was regular pecan pie, with no taste of Jack Daniel's and no glimpse of caramel sauce.
Best parts- we were seated inside (Hello Placerville! ). They have an interesting selection of mead. Being mead-virgins, we ordered the mead flight for $15. 5 different meads in sufficient quantity for us to enjoy through the meal. All of the flavors were quite good, except the cherry, which tasted a bit like cough syrup.
In a nutshell- Good prices and not the worst food we've ever had, but the lack of attention to detail does some damage here. Will likely not return for dinner anytime soon, but would certainly stop by for a glass of mead or two.
Amazing atmosphere and food!! I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. Excellent gluten free crepes!! Will definitely be going back!
Took my granddaughter for her 12th birthday. She loved the booth and all the details in the restaurant. We had the chocolate fondue was our dessert. It was her first time trying it. It was good. The staff made her feel special. Thanks for making her feel special.
Love this place! Food is great, staff is very friendly. Great atmosphere.
Terrific food and service. Really liked the live entertainment!
Fun dinner out with a gf. We got the Ground & Goat pizza which was fantastic (but $$) and each got the Chicken Caprese. The chicken was good but didn’t knock our socks off. Quirky service. Love the visual ambience of the place. It was very hot inside however. Had to be 80-85 degrees. Once our server finally opened the front door, it finally got a little more tolerable. I’d go again just for that pizza, even though it’s expensive, it’s fun for a special outing. Overall it was a good experience.
This was are first time visiting your restaurant. We were quite excited to visit Placerville and eat lunch at the Enchanted Forest. This was an adventure for me, since my husband passed away in August and I am trying to build a new life for myself. The service was good, The food was excellent, however The employees would stand at the end of the bar ( we were in the booth next to the television) and discuss their private lives. At times they would get so excited with what each other would say the volume of their voices would keep us from hearing what we were talking about. I started to ask our waitress to send the manager over, however we decided not to cause any trouble. We just finished up eating and left your restaurant. Other than the rudeness of some of the employees, your place was a new great adventure.
We really enjoyed the ambiance.
I loved the experience and the ambiance but we got the full dining experience and it was WAY overpriced. The meats were really disappointing because there wasn’t enough of it and it wasn’t seasoned at all. Definitely going to just get a salad if I go again.
This place is like a home away from a forest. Great staff and awesome food!! Going back soon!!
Halloween fun! We enjoyed every aspect!
Wonderful restaurant! Even our kids love it. Has lacto vegetarian options.
I have to say we were disappointed and won’t return. We had the four course fondue meal. The salad and cheese fondue courses were ok, but the meat and chocolate fondue courses fell short. If you do order the meat fondue, I would stick with the filet and shrimp. The bay scallops don’t stick to the fork well and are lost in the pot. The meatballs are tasteless and hard to tell when they’re cooked. The sauces were also tasteless. The chocolate fondue was ok, but the hodgepodge of dipping items looked like they had dumped a pantry on the plate. If they stuck with angel food cake bites and some fruit they would be better off. For $39 per person, we could have had a better meal in many places.
The atmosphere reminds me of a Disneyland or Las Vegas theme restaurant but it’s not so cute that I’d bring our grandkids there.
We are in our 70s and being cautious of COVID-19. The half shield clear face masks that the staff wear don’t cover their nose and were off-putting for us.
Our experience was abismal. We were first offered a less then desirable table then confusion ensued. After staring at their tablet they finally sat us in a nice secluded booth. Little did I know that the seclusion meant to be ignored. We were able to have a drink and an appetizer and order a salad and a crepe. An hour later with no food and or attention I had to go to the waiter to tell them give us the check.
To there credit apologetically they “comped” our order and we left.
Small town restaurants need to understand when a mature couple comes in they are having a special night away from their children and sometimes those experiences are not very often. My wife and I were very upset. Needless to say the Enchanted Forest Experience is one to forget.
The ambience was great, the food was fantastic, the waiter was great, the food coming out and getting our order taken took about an hour, so prepare to spend at least 2hours there.
They were out of many menu items. Food came out cold. $23 chocolate fondue consisted of cookies purchased at Safeway. “Entertainment” consisted of some drunk guy playing bad iTunes music from his iPhone too loud over an amp. Narrow Gate Chocolate Port dessert wine is listed on their menu as Porter. This should give you an idea of their wine knowledge. Server tried to see on Old Vine Zin as a direct replacement for a Cabernet they were out of.
It’s a glorified bar, not a restaurant, not an experience. Made a reservation and was initially seated across from the bar on a tiny high table. Asked to be moved as we had a reservation for a special occasion so we were then seated in front of the bathrooms. 3 dinner entrees were unavailable when we were seated (5pm reservation). Food was mediocre at best. Service was slow at first but got better towards the end. Overall, it was very disappointing. We will not be returning or recommending to anyone.
My girl and I had the fondue experience and it was delicious from start to finish. The ambiance was great, warm and inviting, celtic music in the background and out server Samantha was extremely accommodating and personal. We are surely going back!
Food was very good. Out of 3 different red wines we asked for. Sat outside, owner’s dog barked incessantly. Never offered water. Will give it another try as good was that good.
During Covid what do you expect-Have been there prior and enjoyed. This time had some equipment issues with Fondue cookers-was very busy and took a while. Still good though.
Upbeat and cool place to go.
So I made reservations here--SPECIFICALLY STATING that I wanted a cave booth, but when we arrived there was only a high table by the bar or outside available. The hostess just brushed off my request for a booth like I asked for. "Sorry, I didn't see that on your reservation" was all I got. So we sat outside by the street, which was okay, except for the server must have forgotten about us because it took 45 minutes to get our food! The server never came to check on us during that time with no water refills, etc. On the bright side, the food was decent and tasted good, but unfortunately I walked away hungry due to the smaller portions offered here. Although poor service made this a bad experience, I am sure the ambiance would make this a fun experience with better service.
Will definitely be visiting this place again. Good food, beer and the staff was awesome!!
First time - Loved it! Wish we could have been seated back inside more but the place was packed. Took what we could get. Absolutely loved the food, service and atmosphere! We will be back!
