   We didn't actually have dinner at Encant. On the day I received a phone call saying that the restaurant was closed. The previous day I'd been sent an email reminding me of my reservation. It was very nice the first time I went there...

   Great spot. Intimate and cozy. Great place in centre of town. Highly recommended.

   The food was tasty and more ambitious than many similar tapas places, and the batatas bravas were excellent. But... Absolutely atrocious and incompetent service, with the manager spending his time talking to people at other tables, blaming his "inexperienced" bartender for his own failures, and forgetting part of our order--even though he wrote it down on a pad and read it back to us. The venue badly needs better ventilation--everything we wore smells strongly of fried food.

   First time we went it was brilliant. Booked through Open Table to go again but when we got there the place was in darkness. No answer on phone, no notice in window, no notifications from Open Table. Very disappointed

   Do not eat here if you want an enjoyable evening. I went here for a get together with a couple of friends and the service was terrible. When I arrived I was told my table would be ready in 20 minutes (after having booked beforehand). The head waiter is rude, not attentive in any way, and gives off the impression he couldn't care less about his restaurant or the people eating there. I wish I'd have read these reviews before going as I wouldn't have bothered.

   good food but a very tight "cozy space" elbow to elbow at the bar, only 22 seats. If you are not looking for a 2-3 hour dinning experience but a good tasting tapas then yes try Encant. The food is 4 stars but the space and value overall give the whole dinning experience a 3 for me.

   Used to love this place and recommend it to everyone but menu, service level, and ambiance are going down hill. Lots of good dishes not on the menus anymore. Lighting is really bright and no effort to ventilate the place so you leave smelling like oil, and service isn’t very professional anymore. The place needs some TLC.

   Booked on open table same day. Two of us arrived with restaurant half full but told they might not have room, and told I should have called if same day booking (I have checked open table profile for restaurant, it says nothing about this). Sat at counter—very little room, tight fit, but view of street which was nice. Food quick to arrive, good but not excellent in taste, very nicely presented, all overly salted. Restaurant, instead of getting fuller became more empty, so pity we were put in such a space constrained location. About hour into eating, they offered to move us, but we were almost done, so no point. Have been to a dozen Spanish restaurants in London. This one is overpriced, with good food but not excellent, and poor ambiance, but very nice food presentation although way too much salt. Pity as is local to where I work. I imagine they will thrive on tourist market but not on repeat local customers.

    A little puzzled by this place. We went a year ago when it was Duende and thought it was AMAZING, great friendly service, and lovely food. But going there the second time recently, albeit we were early, we honestly felt like we had gate crashed a private (staff only) party and weren't wanted there at all. We were so excited to eat there again but ended up leaving as were dealt with very off handedly/ sarcastically, largely ignored and there was a very strange atmosphere going on. We felt rather bad to leave before ordering but summoned up the courage and went to Polpo and had a top notch evening with excellent food and really lovely service. Not sure what's going on at Encant but whatever it is, it's a pity as it used to be excellent.
