A restaurant is a service industry, so good service should be the expectation. Our server was not service-oriented. And after she brought our food, we waited for the final pizza, which never came. We had to call her over and she said she forgot to put in the order. No apology. When his meal came out several minutes later, no apology. “Thanks for your patience.” What option did we have? The menu is very restrictive in that you can’t sub anything, even a meat for a meat. I removed two items from my pizza, (meat and cheese) and I asked if they could put spinach on instead. “For $3 extra.” That’s kind of messed up. Most restaurants would have either sent the manager over to apologize for the late meal, and/or comped something on the bill. Although the food was tasty and our friends liked other locations, we won’t be back to this one.

I’m a big fan of Emmy Squared, especially the Colony pizza. The combo of the crust with the crispy pepperoni, pickled jalapeños, and honey drizzle makes for a savory, sweet flavor. There are menu options for salads, sandwiches, burgers, and wings. I’ve yet to hear anyone complain about the menu or quality of the food. What could use some focus is the attention to detail with service. If someone orders wings, make sure they have enough napkins. If someone orders a pizza, make sure there are enough utensils at the table after the appetizers are cleared. The East Nashville location wasn’t particularly busy during our visit, but the wait staff wasn’t particularly focused on more than the basics. We had lags between requests and returns to the table. (And it’s not s big place like The Cheesecake Factory.) When a meal can be $30+ per person with drink and tip and you’re given paper napkins and canned sodas, the wait staff needs to bridge the gap and ensure the dining experience aligns with the price point.

Waiter didn’t know the menu. He also left unattended for minutes! We could’ve walked out because of how inattentive he was. Another waiter had to come cash us out. On top of that he was rude.

Arguably the best pizza in nash. I’ve been to all locations and it’s fantastic every single time. The Big Ang is our favorite! The Big Hawaiian is awesome too.

We ordered the gluten free pizza and had absolutely no idea it was gluten free- we even had to double check with the waitress. We will definitely be going back, this pizza was so good!
