4 Hour Slow Cooked Béchamel Bolognese with Grated Parmesan (Pappardelle)
Hailing from Imola, a town located on the Santerno River to the west of Bologna, pappardelle al ragú is a slow-cooked meat sauce
Super disappointed! The service was very slow - we were without water and service for nearly an hour. We saw other customers arrive after us and get served their food before we did. We then got fold we’d be taken care of, got asked what drinks we’d like, and then got no discount at the end. Was most disappointed! The food didn’t taste fresh either.
Pasta was amazing & cocktails were also, nice touch using pasta straws.
Service was great also.
Perfect food, amazing wine and amazing service. Hopefully this restaurant can keep their highest standards as it no doubt expands.
The food is just fantastic, the best fresh pasta in London. The ambience is cosy with dim lighting and candles on an evening, and the prices are very reasonable. Can’t recommend Emilia’s enough!
Sat at the bar and was nice to be by the kitchen. Had the cured beef and buratta salad to share for starters and then 2 portions of pasta to share - honestly amazing food! Great flavours, good portions and cocktails were really reasonable (all £8)
The service and ambience were great. The pesto for the steamed green beans as well as the pasta sauces were heavenly, unfortunately the green beans and the pasta were undercooked even though we normally enjoy crunchy vegetables and al dente pasta.
Fantastic, will go back! Food and cocktails were amazing, service was lovely.
Good food and good service we arrived early and they were able to accommodate us
Food was great and affordable. Really enjoyed our dishes -- tomato vegetarian pasta and the cacio e pepe.
Great pasta! Highly recommended
Delicious fresh pasta, good service and good value. Definitely going again.
I thought it was a great first date with hubs after the latest lockdown! I had the carbonara with pancetta and loved it. Hubs had the pasta with chestnut sauce and wasn’t as keen but I wouldn’t trust his taste in food! 😂 the toilets were clean and the staff were friendly and covid rules followed. Only problem I had was that it was very loud in there for some reason! But I might be thinking that because this is the first time eating out in however many months! Would highly recommend.
First time at Emilias, it started off great. I was attended to as I arrived before my friends and the waitress kindly pointed out what I would be able to order from the menu given my dietary restrictions. And then the restaurant got busy. Food took longer than expected to come out, other diners who had come after us had their food before us. Food was ok, have had better. Dessert menu was given but no one followed up to check if we had wanted anything. Just of note - if you are dining outdoors, people walking by and those in the surrounding flats will be watching.
Fabulous food in a relaxed setting. Loved it!
I consider myself a customer of emilias. The food is freshly made and the service is always really good. Definitely recommend it for pasta lovers
Every time I go to Emilia's it feels like I am in Italy, really amazing food and very kind staff
Firstly we got there and got outdoor dining which was in a tent. Didn’t look very appealing but was nice and quiet. Then we got served and ending up waiting for the food for 50 minutes, we asked the waiter who said “it’s coming” proceeding to take another 10 minutes. The food itself was average ... not something to pay for as you can make it at home. Overall the service was a let down
The food had potential to be great , however it was very cheesy.
Waited over an hour for any food
Wasn’t very warm
Great food! Less good atmosphere than the SKD branch - music was a bit too loud, and the service was less friendly and more chaotic. Overall a good evening and reasonably priced
Food was average and was hard to get any attention from staff. Was seated by the window looking onto the main road which was super noisy and off putting so would possibly try the other location if I were to eat here again.
We really enjoyed the experience. We went at a time when it was quiet but I am sure it would also be lovely when full.
Really lovely pasta, we also loved that there were no plastic straws! Shame about the nuts in the tiramisu, would be best mentioning them on the menu!
Definitely a nice place to celebrate a special occasion
We were seated in the tent despite booking a table inside, the restaurant itself had an abundance of space so unsure why weren’t given a table there. We were also the only table sat outside in the tent. When we mentioned that the tent was cold, we were given a heater which didn’t heat up the tent.
We ordered starters and a main, whilst the starters came out in about 15-20 minutes, the mains didn’t arrive at the table until over an hour later. The food itself was nice although nowhere near worth an hour and a half’s wait.
If you're not familiar with authentic Italian pasta I wouldn't recommend this place. The only recognisable dishes are carbonara, Bolognese and ravioli. One of our waiters wasn't very friendly, the staff were not great at explaining the menu. When my salmon carbonara arrived the pasta was too firm. I'm familiar with Al dente pasta but this was too far. The first waiter just told us that was the recommended cooking time and walked away. We could see her talking to other waiters about us but she didn't help with our order. The second waiter asked the kitchen what could be done and the dishes were made again, still Al dente but easier to eat. The shape of pasta your dish has really affects your experience, the ravioli and casarecce were much softer than the bucatini(pasta used for the carbonara). My friend found the salmon carbonara sauce quite fishy, I didn't mind it but again larger British chain Italians just add the salmon to a creamy sauce where this salmon flavour was infused in the sauce. I enjoyed the flavour of the salmon carbonara it was just hard to eat. The sides are limited don't expect garlic bread or calamari here.
Love the pasta here. Always a nice experience, good prices, excellent food. I recommend this place
The food was yummy and the staff were nice.
We absolutely loved it here, amazing food and service, we even considered coming back the next day before we left London!!
The have plenty of dishes for Vegetarians. The food was great and so was the service. Would defiantly go back.
Very tasty traditional pasta , great staff and loved the interior
Best pasta in London by far. Few items on the menu because each item is absolutely perfect. Well done to everyone there, great ambience, very helpful and kind staff, feels like being back in Italy
Lamb ravioli with sage butter used to be my favorite before lockdown at this location. Unfortunately the refinement their dishes had before has disappeared. The pasta filling was overpowered by garlic and the ravioli were swimming in huge amounts unflavored butter (and I do love butter and have never complained about quantities of butter before). As I used to love the place, I hope this was just a one off and will go back to give them another chance.
The meal was lovely
Smoked salmon carbonara & the bolognese 10/10
Friendly, professional staff, delicious food and a great atmosphere.
The service was great and we were very excited to eat here based on its popularity and the pictures of their food. We ordered the creamy walnut mushroom pasta and the truffle cacio pepe but the actual pasta was very chewy as it wasn’t boiled for long enough it seems. This completely ruined the dish which would’ve been amazing based on the flavour of it. But we couldn’t enjoy it at all because the pasta was just not cooked enough. Really hope this was a one off.
Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Delicious food and great service.
Due to covid we were outside but inside the tent, and unfortunately the space, table size was a bit limited. But completely understandable under these extreme circumstances.
I will definitely go back. Great food as said before but also great ethos.
Overall was a bit unfortunate that it was raining loads because some of the guests were soaking wet. Overall service was good however the pasta was a bit too salty for my taste. You do get big portions which makes the value for money pretty decent.
A poor experience it was raining and it flooded through, wetting all my food and cloths. I understand there was Bad weather but we were not given anything for the bad experience. As well as this our food was 50 minutes late and when the pasta was served it was cold. Very upsetting experience considering it was my birthday
