   This was our first time at Ember and possibly our last. We made a reservation for Standard seating, the other options were Bar and Outside. We even pushed back the time a bit to get the Standard seating offering. When we arrived the restaurant was full with the exception of a booth and what looked like a 6 top table. Needless to say they had nothing in standard seating for two. The two hostesses looked a little bewildered then proceeded to lead us to the bar. We were sat at a hightop table in the corner near the patio entrance and bathrooms. What I should have done was asked if there was a table available in the main dining room but I didn't, my fault, but it isn't my job to ensure they have the correct tables reserved for the reservations they offer. Should have trusted my instincts and left then and there but we were there and wanted to give them a shot. I also understand they were extremely busy with graduation parties so we gave them some grace. That grace was quickly rescinded as soon as we got our food. We ordered the lump crabmeat and spinach dip which was very good but the entrees were unfortunately not. My wife ordered the blackened redfish with asparagus risotto, the fish was blackened but had absolutely no flavor whatsoever and it was very dry. The risotto had no asparagus and was bland and gluey like it had been cooked during a lunch shift and left out. I ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye which stated it was pineapple marinated with roasted potatoes and caramelized onions. While it was cooked perfectly it was not pineapple marinated and there were no caramelized onions. The potatoes were also not seasoned at all, not even salt. The bar area where we sat was extremely cramped and excessively loud. There was maybe two feet separating the tables. The one bright spot was our server, she was very attentive and wanted to help when she realized we did not like the food but we just wanted to pay and leave.

   We went here to celebrate after our son’s school ceremony. The place is beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was top notch! We will definitely be back!

   Apps were delish. Loved! Pizza took an hour and it wasn’t cooked all the way. Still doughy and floppy in the middle. Service was ok. Entree menu needs to be improved for dinner options. But Apps were a win!!!

   Two kitchens do not coordinate. Had the pizza for 10 minutes then other food came out then another 5 minutes and still no fish entree. The two kitchens need to communicate better.

   We had a girls night here, the atmosphere was beautiful, however it took 30 minutes to even have someone come to the table for us to order. The drinks were good, appetizers were mediocre and the pizza was absolutely delicious but took over 2 hours for us to receive it. Overall, I rated ember 3/5 stars, beautiful place but they have a lot to work on for sure.

    The drinks, food, and service were phenomenal. The only issue that I have is things took a very long time to reach the table. For a restaurant of this caliber in Houma, more staff is needed. We will be back, but we expect smaller wait times.
