We stopped in late to have dinner. We ate at the bar. The food was fantastic. It was a slow night so it was very quiet. We’ve been there when it’s busy and louder and every time we go we are pleased.

HANNAH, OUR WAITRESS DID AN AWESOME JOB. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. TOMATO BASIL, MY FAVORITE WAS THE BEST I HAVE HAD. FRIENDLY, CAUSAL DRESS. MY FRIENDS AND I GET TOGETHER ONCE A MONTH FOR LUNCH, WE CHAT ALOT, WE HAD A RELAXING TIME AND ENJOYED OUR ONCE A MONTH VISIT. GOOD FOOD AND PLEASANT PLACE TO DINE

Prime rib was very tasty and done just right. Fried chicken was not quite done all through but buttermilk batter was great. Reasonable prices and good service.

It’s was NYE and we expected some kind of special items on the menu or even an acknowledgment of the event but nothing. Disappointing as was the food. We have eaten here before and it was amazing. Not sure what happened.

It was horrible! I ordered the short braise ribs and they came in 3 pieces that had fat all over the top! I was very disgusted by the appearance I lost my appetite. The waitress took it back and brought me a pretzel chicken sandwich out instead, which looked even more disgusting to eat. It was so high and it was a huge piece of burnt fried chicken with gravy all over it and a few other things that didn’t belong on a chicken sandwich. Such a huge disappointment. Ruined our celebration completely!

This is a very good restaurant that has the potential to be something great! Tofu salad is a 5-star vegan dish! Keep up the good work. Lose the "Bucca-style" kitchey wall decor to make this place look like an elegant hotel lobby and you will attract the after-work business crowd you desire.

Bartender had an attitude. When we said we made a reservation through Open Table they said we did not, "they don't use Open Table". The staff was short handed so the service people took it out on the customers. Our hamburgers which wee ordered medium rare were well done. They place is small with no atmosphere inside. The outside tables sit on the parking lot and look onto parking spaces where cars are within 2' of the tables. (We prayed the drivers had good brakes and put the big pickup trucks into the right gear when leaving.) Very small wine list and beer was not cheap even though it should have been happy hours. Not our worst experience, ever, but close to it.
Ella's Public HouseResponded on July 7, 2019I think you may have gone somewhere else. None of what you have said in your review even comes close to describing Ella's Public House! We have a capacity of 207. Our decor consists of mostly Milwaukee beer history, including cream city brick from the Pabst Malt House and railings from the Schlitz Brewery circa 1890. The centerpiece of the room is a sunken fireplace and lounge. Parking is across the street except for ADA and motorcycle parking. We do use Open Table but not for reservations now.
