Elk Ave Prime is located in the heart of downtown Crested Butte on Elk Avenue. We feature hand carved Prime and Wagyu steaks, Colorado lamb, Elk, Buffalo, fresh Seafood, farm to restaurant garden salads and more.

We feature an award winning wine program that highlights both iconic producers, and lesser known small productions wines. Our craft cocktail program and selection of fine spirits is second to none.

The food was amazing. The service was great. They also completely accommodated us by putting us in the bar so we could watch the USA/Mexico game. Only downside is that my 12 year can now eat a whole steak by himself (and he said it was really really good. He wouldn't let me try it since he ate the whole thing, so I cannot confirm that.) Between the four of us, we had two ribeyes, one filet, and crab cakes - all of it was really good. Also was told the oysters were really good and the cherries helped round out the taste.

This restaurant charges premium prices for mediocre food. It is not a gourmet dining experience. Friendly service but slow - however, it was a busy holiday weekend. The management was very accommodating when one diner was unable to eat her unsatisfactory meal.

Great place. Probably the most expensive in town, but worth it. The restaurant is beautiful and well designed. It provides both a sense of sophistication with a great casual mountain vibe. It won't dissapoint!

As always, service was exceptional even during a busy holiday weekend. The Strip Steak was delicious and huge! Good value for its size. My husband loved the duck. Mashed potatoes, creamed corn and all of the sides were great. Best restaurant in Crested Butte.

The service at Elk Avenue Prime was excellent. The food was delicious. My only criticism about our dinner was the cocktails we ordered were very weak. If we decide to go back we will order bottled beer.

Brad, Thank you for the 4-star review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed the service and the food. Not too sure what happened with the cocktails you ordered. Typically we associate words like flavorful and balanced with the specialty cocktails we create, so hearting they were "weak" is a bit unusual. Next time you are in, I'd love to make some recommendations on some spirit forward drinks that might be more to your liking. My personal favorite is the "High & Tight". It is a stirred variation of the classic cocktail "Blood and Sand" that uses Tin Cup Bourbon, Cherry Ratafia, Alessio Vermouth, Cointreau, and Laphroaig. I bet it would be right up you alley, and far more interesting than bottled beer :)

We have been eating at Elk Prime for 12 years and it was our favorite place in CB. Our experience this last time was ridiculous. The wait staff was mixing up steaks; one steak was suppose to be well done and was full of blood and barely medium; we had 5 baked potatoes and every one of them was almost impossible to cut; the asparagus was brought out with the salads, so I had to send that back or it would be cold with our main course; all 4 filets did not have the same taste as prior and all were poor quality cuts of meat. All 5 at the table agreed that this was a total unusual experience and a total disappointment. All 5 at the table agreed the meat was neither cooked nor flavored as before and was tough. The waiter was kind and it was not his fault and the manager did remove the cost of one steak. I use to wait every 3 months to eat here-no more.

Chad, I'm truly sorry that you had such a poor experience the last time you visited. I'd hate to see one bad experience make you write off the restaurant you've been enjoying for the last 12 years. We continue to source all of our prime cuts of meat from the same purveyors we have been sourcing from for years. Sounds like there were some issues on where the meals were delivered. Certainly when one is expecting a delicious well done filet and they get one barely medium, it is upsetting. Our goal is, and always has been, to provide an amazing experience to our decerning guests. I truly hope you will give us another chance to do right by you. Thank you as always for the feedback, we will use it as an opportunity to improve.

It doesn’t get any better in crested butte than elk prime. Food, service, and ambiance are the greatest. You’re making a mistake if you don’t go here.
