Amazing food and great service. Worth every penny. Some of the other tables around us were a bit loud but that is my only negative. This restaurant is amazing. McKenzie was our wonderful server and she did a great job. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in Crested Butte.
Fabulous service, wine selection, and delicious food!!! Highly recommend
Anniversary dinner. Food was phenomenal
Our experience was first rate. I had heard great thinks about the restaurant, and they didn’t disappoint.
Service was awesome!
Always a fantastic experience at Elk Prime! Consistently one of the best restaurants we dine at in our travels!
We've eaten in some pretty phenomenal steakhouses and my husband and I both agreed Elk Ave Prime might be better than any of them. The service was stellar. Amy (sp?) was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. We had the bacon wrapped scallops to start and they were perfection. We split the caesar and the bone in buffalo rib eye. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We added the crab cake because Amy being from Maryland gave it her endorsement!! We had the mac and cheese straight up because Amy said that was the best way to do it. Almost forgot the tempura brussels sprouts. YUM. We did not expect to have such an experience on our adventure to Crested Butte. The restaurant was lovely, quiet and intimate. Worth every penny. What a treat and I hope to go back!
Excellent food and service. They were able to accommodate our party of 8.
I travel often and have been privileged to eat at several excellent restaurants all over the world. Every now and then I'm lucky enough to find a restaurant that does everything right. Impeccable service, everything on the menu is beyond expectation, and (for me) a world class wine list. Elk Ave Prime checks all those boxes. If you are in Crested Butte I would HIGHLY recommend coming to this restaurant!
Excellent food in very pleasant atmosphere. Good cocktails; wines on the expensive side. Would be good to see a wider range of “by the glass” wine.
Make reservations ahead of time. You can wait over 2 hours or more just to get seated.
I noticed you arrived 6min early for your 7:30 reservation online and were seated straight away. If you have any other impressions we should know about please let me know
My friends and I ordered steak and elk with side dishes, salads and wine. On the menu it says the side dish’s are for two however they are extremely small and expensive. They are only meant for one person. The salads are extremely expensive and are not good. Then we asked our waiter for two specific bottles for 45 and 58 dollars and instead he charged us for a 58 and 92 dollar wine. It was quite embarrassing our waiter dis-respected our table with charging us something we did not order. I would highly suggest you save your money and go to the wooden nickel steak house instead. At elk ave prime they give you small portions and charge you more for what you did not order.
Excellent food and booze menu. Cool setting. Host staff was not accommodating to my reservation requests. We had to break up our party of six to three and three. Hostess/manager said the reservation system would not allow her to make any changes. There were tables of six and eight when we were there. Elk Avenue is very expensive.
It was date night for my husband and myself. The food is very good, but hardly anything on the menu is healthy. Just about every appetizer, salad, and side dish is fried or has bacon, cheese, or heavy sauce. They do have a single green salad on the menu, but yawn. I know eating out isn’t about counting calories, but I don’t feel so great after eating there. I just wish they had a few lower fat options to mix in with the fabulous prime meats and fish. The meat entrees are some of the best offerings in the country. The fish is flown in and is fabulous! Wine selections by the glass outstanding! I did ding them on ambience as I have been there twice this month and both times have been sat right next to the kitchen doors and wait station.
Wonderful. Great food. Great service.
Great food great service
The elk tenderloin was delicious! Great recommendation from our waitress. Medium rare was perfect! The scallops for appetizer was amazing! Thanks for a fabulous dinner to start our family winter vacation!
World-class restaurant in Crested Butte - great food, service and ambiance!
Lovely dinner with friends. All of us enjoyed the food and we were so happy to be able to have real menus. The staff was wonderful and our waiter was very personable. I had the lamb chops, which were delicious. Everyone else had steak, which was delicious too.
Some of the best steak I’ve ever had! My girlfriend ordered the elk tenderloin and I got the Buffalo bone-in ribeye. Both were absolutely incredible. The owner even came by to personally greet each table and make sure everything was satisfactory. If you’re visiting Crested Butte for a weekend, this restaurant should be high on your list!
Great food and nice waitress
Absolutely amazing! Everything you want in a top notch high quality meal.
We ate, ate and kept eating, everything was great. This was by far the best restaurant during or stay in CP.
Started with the brussel sprouts and fork and knife caesar. Brussel sprouts were very good and fork and knife salad was lightly dressed. Got the Miyazaki steak as well and it was worth every penny! Got the elk steak (medium rare) with the buffalo ravioli and both were phenomenal, though I wish the ravioli wasn't fried. Also tried the buffalo ribeye and it was also really good. The service was very good. The only negative remark I have is that our particular table had poor lighting.
Elk Prime never disappoints. Highly recommended!!
The food was amazing. I suggest going with the bone in fillet!
Food was good. Expensive. Ordered the special $120 for 6 ounces.
Always a stop for us when we are in Crested Butte- the food is always reliably excellent, the service is always exemplary and the whole experience never lets us down.
We enjoyed our night from the time we sat down to the service by Kati. Food was awesome but a little pricy. But I would have to say well worth the investment.
Fantastic meal and great ambiance. The owner and servers were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Would highly recommend Elk Ave Prime if you're looking for a fancier date night spot in Crested Butte.
NO MORE OYSTERS?? That was my only complaint! The pandemic impacts us all, even oyster loving snowboarders like myself. The Japanese wagyu steak more than made up for my missing molluscs. Martinis, wine, and the most decedent whipped potatoes I've ever had, it felt like a sinful act with each bite. I've been here about four times now, the service is always top notch and I cannot wait until I can make my way back to that beautiful little town!
My friends and I came here based on a recommendation from a local skier. The Buffalo ribeye was amazing! We couldn’t have had nicer waiters and staff. Highly recommend this place!
Wonderful experience and Parker was an excellent server! Can't wait to visit again.
The place is as advertised- food was exceptional- probably the best seared Ahi Tuna I’ve ever had- the fried Brussels sprouts are exceptional
One of the Best steak houses in Colorado!
Great Service and atmosphere.
We had great service and wonderful food and drinks. It was a great experience!
Filet was perfect. Chocolate cake was the bomb. The wait staf was engaging and fun.
Great service and food! Best steaks I’ve had in CO. Service was prompt. Highly recommend!
Ordered filet medium and came out rare and then when reheated to correct temperature was charred and burnt on outside. Au gratin smoked potatoes tasted like liquid smoke and overpowered any other ingredient. Not so good for a steakhouse in my experience.
