ES used to be a cool place serving quality, TASTY food. Without skipping a beat, my last 3 visits there have been miserable and as of yesterday, I have concluded that I will not return. Why?
1. Prices are insane with minimal protein served with dishes ($18 pho??)
2. Seafood Pho tastes fishy and gross, served with whole chunks of fish including skin and scales?!
3. Ordered the Pork Bun yesterday: chock full of rice noodles but minimal vegetables and maybe a 3oz portion of pork which was super fatty and tough (inedible)
4. Service was just bad. Server interrupted us twice but then decided to leave us sitting there for 10 minutes before returning to toke order. He had NO CLUE how to consolidate and make use of his passes by our table.
Great drinks, food, service, and environment. The incense in the bathroom was such a nice touch to it. 🙂
The food is so good! And 1/2 price apps and bahn mi from 3-6 is such a great deal. We tried the escargot and they were amazing!! If I could eat that many carbs everyday, I’d go there every day!!
I had a fun family birthday dinner. We tried several special dishes and had some of our mainstays. It was such a great night of food and fun conversation.
Loved our server. Love happy hour. Best dessert program in town.
Very delicious! Cute atmosphere and great service.
Love the spring rolls, Banh Mi Sandwich and Bun. Great outdoor heaters for outdoor dining. Very good social distance inside. Can’t wait to visit again
Food is delicious but portions are very plentiful. Pho bowls are particularly large. Recommend sharing dishes.
The martini was terrible. Service was okay. Vibes fabulous, and food amazing!
The food, experience and atmosphere was great as usual!! Thank you!!
Just a tremendous meal. Love it and can’t wait to go again
Great place to take your girl.
First time at Elizabeth St & we'll definitely be back!
It was really good! They’re happy hour prices are phenomenal and so tasty:)
Every dish I had was exciting, unique and a perfect blend of flavors and ingredients that made my mouth so happy. Service was top notch, the space was lovely and I’ve never found French, Vietnamese and a macaron bar in one place! Parking was a bit of a pain, but well worth it.
What fun! The aesthetic is super cute, but the music was too loud for conversation inside. Our service was wonderful and food great. Pro tip- if there is a specific pastry you want, call ahead to set them aside... they sell out! Know before you go- the green tea is blueberry flavored, limited lot parking, reservations highly recommended!
All staff was rude when approached with questions. They seemed bothered and annoyed for having to be there.
Had a great dinner. Hostess on 1/22 was very accommodating and courteous even though I was a little short tempered with her. She remained calm and professional.
Everything was incredible except the service, which was alright. Our server didn’t seem very experienced and brought the wrong entree and charged us for our neighboring tables drink. But he was very polite.
It was pleasant and relaxing
Great menu with good selections for sharing, including vegetarian options.
Our server was extremely professional, knew the menu inside and out, made some wonderful suggestions we had not tried before. This is one of our favorite spots in Austin. Don't miss the delicious desserts!
Everything was excellent from the food to the service!!
Fantastic spot. Everything is just right. We come here frequently
Wonderful Flavorful Food. Would highly recommend it.
Tables too small. Not socially distanced enough.
Everything was amazing all around, but Makinley was exceptional! We will definitely be back more often due to her hospitality!
Super cute and trendy place to socialize with good friends. Parking was horrendous. Side street parking if you’re even lucky to find a space. Highly recommend car pooling (or walk if you live near this adorable neighborhood). Making a reservation was extremely easy and special request was granted without any issues. Desserts and pastries were decadent and mouth watering delicious. The Vietnamese food such as the Banh mí sandwiches, grilled pork, and beignets were all a disappointment. Being Vietnamese, there are a lot of other authentic Vietnamese restaurants in north Austin that serves WAY better food and half the cost. The drive was worth it to meet up with friends but we definitely won’t be returning. It’s a hint when you don’t see the place filled with Vietnamese people. We know our food and we’re darn picky when it comes to good food.
Overall, Great service, sweet ambiance, horrible parking, and less than mediocre Vietnamese food. You want a good authentic banh mi sandwich and pho, go to Pho Van! Sandwich for $6, pho bowl for $8. The cafe is overrated.
Extremely tasty every time we visit. Service is always on point and drinks are fantastic and creative.
My favorite go-to cafe. Dog friendly so I usually bring my goldendoodle. MUST GET: chili oil dumplings
Always liked this place a lot but since the pandemic Elizabeth Street has kicked it up a notch. Everything is somehow better and more crave worthy.
And it had sort of become a sleepy second tier, as a scene as well, before the pandemic but now is seriously buzzy again.
Must-haves, Pho, of course, and my favourite the shrimp and pork crepe. Actually, those two to share make a perfect meal.
Latte with oat milk is creamy perfection.
Pot de creme excellent and not too sweet.
Cocktails are very good too.
Wait staff are proficient and look amazing in their super cute uniforms.
The outdoor dining set-up can’t be beat. The lushly landscaped wall of SWAY makes it an even more idyllic spot. For a second you could think you were in the South of France.
Excellence all around as always! This is our favorite place!
One of my favorite restaurants in Austin and as always, Elizabeth St Café did not disappoint! For brunch I highly recommend the Singapore Noodles and the brioche French toast.
Our waitress was accommodating of our preferences for drinks and food, even replacing items we did not like. It worked out for the best because the rib-eye with fried choice turned out to be our favorite thing of the meal! Everyone was friendly and the food was excellent.
We come to ESC all the time ... great food & happy hour. Servers are AMAZING. Food is GREAT. Seating policy & host station ... DISAPPOINTING. How is is possible that during this pandemic, we can't book a seat on the patio? Most of the MMH restaurants offer at least a portion of outside seating to folks who PLAN AHEAD & make a reservation. The last two times we waited 30+ minutes for a spot on the patio, which pretty much made it pointless to book a reservation at all. And upon arrival for one (indoor seating) reservation, we were assured we'd be NEXT since we had a reservation. But in fact, several parties got seated before us. Extremely frustrating and honestly, there are so many other restaurants that guarantee outside seating. That said, it will be a while before we come back.
Amazing food- such quality ingredients and great service! We had the best waitress, Gaby and it's our favorite spot in town!
Had really good experience here.
Love this place more every time I go
The last meal in Austin was a treat. Whatever you do try the beignets with both jams.
If you’re going to allow people to make reservations you need to tell them they can’t reserve outdoor tables ESPECIALLY if you have a bad weather policy! Showed up for more outdoor reservation was told “they didn’t reserve tables outside” nowhere is that on the app. When we said we were unsure about sitting inside due to a PANDEMIC we were told we could be added to the very long wait list or go elsewhere, no attempt to work with our group, very rude. I made the reservation several days in advance and specifically requested an outdoor table. I love Elizabeth Street but was very disappointed.
