* Bacon, cold and rubbery
* Staff and Server, attentive and accommodating
Husband and I were celebrating our Babymoon trip in Charleston. Eli’s table came recommended by a South Carolina friend and it was a great one! I ordered the special (house made ravioli and seafood in a Ragu sauce) and my husband had the dock scallops- both delicious! Great service and ambiance!
We had the Chef's special and catch of the day. Both were delicious! Service was perfectly timed for each course. Suggested wine pairings were just right. A great start for date night!
Wonderful experience for our first night in Charleston!
This is the only place we could get into last minute on a Saturday night but worth it! Great shrimp and grits, friendly service but perhaps a bit too casual, could be tighter, entree came out before we finished our salad. Not great but over all good and more reasonably priced than other restaurants.
vacation dinning. Exceptional food and service. A little more expensive than everyday. Very small table for two needed help to keep from wobbling. Our view was into the kitchen through a small window which was not ideal, but the cook was a good dancer...
the people could not have been nicer and very accommodating. If you were not pleased they wanted to make it right. Good selection of food and all was delicious.
Food was very good! Ambience was nicer outside than inside. Service was good, waiter very nice.
The server was very sweet and nice but the service overall was rather slow and my entree was dry, not flavorful, and underwhelming in appearance considering it’s price.
The best shrimp and grits in Charleston! We really enjoyed our meal this evening. Our server was phenomenal, very attentive. We will be back!
My wife and I loved the food the music and our waiter Bryce was well informed VERY accommodating and just a joy!
We enjoyed lunch here last week. Both of our meals were very tasty. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the overall service at this establishment. This place seems like a classic and a great place for lunch. My husband had the She Crab soup and the Red snapper. Both were excellent. I had a ham and cheese sandwich with fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes were a bit small but the overall taste was excellent.
We really enjoyed our meals at Eli’s table. Cooked to perfection and very tasty. We took advantage of the restaurant week menu. My husband is very picky and he said it was one of the best meals he has ever had. Everything from beginning to end was delicious. Would certainly return.
Excellent food and service. Some of the best short ribs I have ever had. It was quiet and easy to hold a conversation. The wait staff and manager were very friendly and provided great service. It was easy to feel like you were a welcomed guest. We were there during restaurant week and had the 4 course menu which was a great value and provided us an opportunity to try items we might not have normally sampled.
Eli’s Table made for a really nice dining-out treat for my husband and me. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere. Since we were there for a first-time visit during restaurant week, we elected to dine from that menu. The selections were excellent and included many of their noted dishes. We had one of the best servers I’ve ever had, Anna. She was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and timed her trips to our table well. She aimed to please both to her credit and Eli’s Table. As for the food- every bite delicious! The roasted beet salad and mussels were so good, I could’ve been happy ending it thee. We also had the tenderloin steak and the duck and waffles dishes. Overall, it was a good time out and I highly recommend it.
Service was horrible. Our waiter seem to be more interested in his other tables and it showed. We ordered appetizer which was good however it came after our meals. They did comp the app but honestly I had rather have good service than a free app. Disappointed for sure. Horrible experience
Those who had the sweet potato pancakes loved them. I think they sell the mix there. The pasta dish that was the special that night was inconsistent even between the two people at the table who ordered it. One looked better than the other. They said they were short on staff so maybe some of the usual chef’s were out that night.
Fantastic food and service. Visitors should review the pricing to make sure this place is within your budget (entrees of $25 to $50)
Food was good, though not remarkable for the price point. Best part was the portion size, which far exceeded our expectations. I liked the ambience the most, because while it was busy, we could carry on a conversation without any effort. Music was pleasant and not too loud. I thought it was going to be hot so we sat inside, but I kind of would have liked to try their outside seating.
The problem was the cramped table and odor. We smelled camphor when we arrived and at the table, there were too many hands servicing our table and two of the four of us received the wrong entrees.
I have been here several times and have always enjoyed it. This particular time I went with 3 other family members. It was not extremely crowded, so a mix-up in one of our orders should not have happened. However, when our food was delivered, one of the orders was totally wrong. The other 3 of us proceeded to eat, but our fourth member had to wait while they prepared her meal. It took at least 10-12 minutes, which of course the rest of us were almost done with our meals.
They apologized, but that was all they did. Never offered anything else to accommodate us for the mix-up. It was disappointing.
We had breakfast this morning and enjoyed it tremendously. I had the steak benedict (it had a different name, but was a steak benedict) which was smothered in a tasty gravy. My son had the sweet potato waffle, which seems weird but he liked it. The other dishes were eaten by the rest in our party before I could even take note of them, which I guess that sums it it. Great service. Delicious coffee. No complaints. It was nice to be able to eat outdoors since the restaurant itself was a bit on the chilly side (like so many restaurants in Charleston). A decent breakfast and a creative enough menu.
Awesome 1st experience for our 18th Anniversary dinner. Hostess, bartender, and server all friendly, attentive (but not over the top), and made an extra effort to make sure our visit was memorable. Grouper special and mussels appetizer were out of this world! If in doubt about what to order, ask your server - they will not disappoint! Decent wine list and full bar with specialty drink list for those interested.
This restaurant was recommended by a coworker and was absolutely amazing! Food was so great at dinner we came back the next morning for brunch.
I have been traveling to Charleston several times a year for at probably 12 years now and the food at Eli's is easily some of the best I've had. I would put them up against any of the top-rated restaurants in town. The service was excellent as well. The environment isn't as chic or upscale as some other places in town, but the food blows some of the other fancier places out of the water. We will definitely be back.
Had a wonderful evening out to dinner for my husband's birthday. The entire crew at Eli's made it a excellent evening. That's y'all for a memorable evening. We will be back.....
LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this place!! Food was fantastic, only bolstered by the wonderful staff and atmosphere.
It was amazing
We were celebrating two birthdays. Sat outside on the patio. Server was attentive but not obtrusive. Hostess also checked on us, and the manager too came by at one point to say hello. Food was wonderful, good wine selection, very nice evening : )
The duck and sweet potato waffles dish was innovative and delicious. The chocolate Tres Leches was also marvelous. And our waiter was very personable and attentive. Fabulous evening!
My wife and I had dinner this past Thursday night to celebrate our 30 th wedding anniversary and enjoy some live music.
We were warmly greeted and seated outside in a lovely courtyard. Our servers, Douglas and Anna, were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We especially enjoyed the tableside fire-glazing of our crème-brulee.
The food was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. If you consider yourself a "foodie" you won't be disappointed. If you just want great food in pleasant surroundings, served by nice people, this is your place.
We were entertained by an outstanding jazz duo during our meal. The breath of their musical repertoire and the virtuosity of their playing was impressive and added nice value to an already sensational experience .
If you're in Charleston on a Thursday night don't miss it.
Eli's Table is one of favorite restaurants. The food is consistently very fresh and well prepared. The menu changes with the season and is creative. Service is always attentive and prompt but not overbearing.
We had an excellent experience at Eli’s Table this morning for breakfast! The only thing we noticed was that it seemed like the food took a while to make and the restaurant wasn’t too busy. However, we completely forgot about the wait when the food arrived to the table because it was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend.
We had the most delicious meal! Freshly cooked food that melted in our mouths! Delicious and will definitely recommend to everyone and anyone visiting Charleston! Wished we had gone back for breakfast, as that was also recommended!
Went for brunch. One word - wonderful. Best breakfast food. You must at least get a half stack of sweet potatoe pancakes on the side. Fantastic coffee.
Food was decent. Interesting options, but nothing in particular that made me want to come rushing back. I will explore other places, but I truly appreciate the service and atmosphere of this restaurant. Add-ons were pricy, all things considered. Main entrees were somewhat reasonably priced, considering the location.
Duck and waffles was great, everything else was unimpressive. Service was fine, but not outstanding.
Great sweet potato pancakes and Fried Oyster Eggs Benedict. Service a little disappointing but will definitely go back. Small but cozy, reservations advised.
