About
We went skiing for my boyfriends birthday and has an amazing meal!! We will definitely be back!
Service was poor, seemed like server did not want to be there. Even though there were not many dinners there, it took forever for the food to come out. When it did finally come out it was cold. Would not go back!
The experience was overall good. Some improvement on the meals still possible, but the excellent service compensated.
Thank you for every and happy new year!!!
Very good from start to finish!
We had a very enjoyable experience this evening. Food delicious, server and bartender Jackson was excellent. We had flambé desserts which were fun to watch and were a great ending to an excellent meal. Soup and salad were served prior to our appetizer but our server quickly explained the snafu in kitchen that was quickly fixed. Our Brie appetizer was served a few minutes later. Bartender made excellent extra dry Rob Roys with a twist of lemon.
Horrible experience. 3 of 4 drinks mixed wrong, received wrong dinner orders, salad delivered after dinner, and wrong sides - corrected sides delivered after we were finished eating. They also charge you extra to use a credit card. Sorry but I don’t usually walk around with $500 cash when going out to dinner. The sad part is that the food was good - it was served lukewarm and had apparently been sitting in kitchen longer than it should have. Given this was our first time, maybe it was just a bad night but I doubt we will be going back to find out.
Group of 12 and received a bill with a cash option or a credit card up charge. I eat out a lot and have never encountered this in a restaurant. I have only seen this at a gas station or online sellers like Ebay or PayPal as the credit charge will cut into their profits. This maneuver only shows the priority of the owner which obviously is profit instead of service. Unfortunately, the waiter suffered the loss in this case. Will never eat there again.
We were lucky to spend Christmas evening with the Elevations family. The staff were incredible, the food was superb. The Irish Coffee Flambé was beautiful to watch and delicious. We will be returning the next time we are in town.
Everything about this beautiful establishment was superb!
Gathering of friends for a birthday. As always best atmosphere, food and service. Thank you Felix, Nobel and Ed.
We went to Elevations for their Thanksgiving dinner. It was great food, they had really good seasonal cocktails, and the ambience was cozy and comfortable. The owner came around and introduced himself, and the staff was friendly. We look forward to eating here again.
We went for thanksgiving dinner with the family and it was great.
Thanksgiving. The food was excellent. Great service. Can’t wait to return.
Wonderful food! Great staff!!
The Limited menu was not advertised. Although there were 4 families in the restaurant our food came out cold after a 25 min wait. Staff were very friendly however. We drove an hour to get there and won’t do it again.
We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner at this charming restaurant. It made our holiday away from home very special. The food was gourmet quality. All of our party of 6 enjoyed every bite..right down to the delicious dessert. I look forward to coming back!
Flaming Irish Coffee is amazing with great table side service by Felix. Ed, the owner, makes each patron feel welcome. Will definitely be back.
I'm hoping we just hit an off night based on other reviews. Food was good, but not great. Steaks were cooked perfectly but the appetizer we had (baked brie) was lacking in presentation and taste. There were only 3 tables in the whole restaurant occupied so I know they weren't rushed. The service was the biggest let down. The waitress was clearly new but I'd expect some form of training before working in fine dining. She had zero knowledge of the menu or the wine selection. She even told my wife she would have to check to see if they had a cabernet Samuel (this is not a typo, she had zero knowledge of wine). Overall I would not go back.
This restaurant has some work to do. We were staying 20 miles away (30 minute drive) and were coming over for Sunday brunch. The website clearly said they were serving breakfast and opened at 8am (still does). We picked an 11am OpenTable reservation, but there were also times at 10, 10:30 etc available. We get to the restaurant at 10:50 and there was a sign on the door that said they opened at 11 and weren't going to serve breakfast until after Thanksgiving (3 weeks away). I called and they told me "We've had a sign on the door for several weeks". This is not 1982. Your digital channels have to be in sync with your "front door" communications. Most people rely on OpenTable, websites, Yelp etc. You can't post a sign on your front door and think that covers you.
Another thing that REALLY got to me is they charge a fee for a credit card. Who does that in 2019? I didn't even think the credit card companies would allow you to do that. Credit cards are part of the deal when owning a restaurant, charging a fee to use a credit card is also 1982.
Food was decent, but we were really looking for breakfast food.
On a good note.....Atmosphere was great and drinks were incredible.
The problems are fixable and self-inflicted. Good luck getting them solved.
It’s hard to give a review of a restaurant that’s closed for Sunday Brunch until after thanksgiving. This restaurant should have advised Open Table of their schedule which is written on a piece of paper and posted on their door.
The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. The service was impeccable and the food outstanding. We will return the next time we are in town.
But I would make sure the friend had the following information. The food was excellent, but we experienced a couple of things that make me wonder their long term staying power. Saturday night and restaurant was not the least bit crowded. Substitute Brussel Sprouts for the Asparagus, that will be a $2.00 up charge, and then top that off with an up charge to pay with a credit card. Feels like you are being nickled and dimed.
Disappointed;(
It was a really nice restaurant and a great choice to bring my wife here on our anniversary. The server was super nice and answered all our questions and the food was quick to come out. On top of all that the food was amazing. We were both stuffed at the end of the evening that we had to skip dessert. Def will be coming back again.
Elevations was fantastic. Delicious food. Wonderful cocktails. Service was outstanding.
Made reservations here while visiting the Beech Mountain area for my wife’s birthday. We were 15 minutes early, but the early reservation time allowed the owner, Ed, to seat us right away. The main seating area gradually filled up during our dinner, but our booth provided a nice quite space to enjoy everything.
Our server recommended their apple martini for my wife, and their apple old fashioned for me. The martini was very good, but I much prefer a traditional old fashioned. Our Brie appetizer and cups of soup were a great start to the meal. Nice presentation and great flavor. My wife enjoyed a perfectly cooked (med-rare) fillet, and my mountain trout was very tasty.
We rounded out things with cherries jubilee cooked flambé at our table side. Thanks Ed! I also added an Irish coffee, which was prepared “flaming” at our table side as well. Great presentation by their maitre d’!
Great experience overall. Would definitely come back for another occasion!
Great food and service the owner Ed is on top of everything they should ad some additional appetizers to the menu, the place is ideal for taps and wine or a full course dinner
the Greek wedge, seafood pasta a la vodka and flourless, sugarless chocolate torte were all exceptionally goog
Very SLOW service, unattentive waiter, food was below average and they charge if you don't pay cash $9 plus on my $198 bill. Would never go back
Lovely evening with friends! The atmosphere is conducive to conversation and we never felt rushed.
seemed to be under staffed the night we were there. hostess greeted us after 5-10 minutes of arriving. waiter was knowledgeable and attentive when he was present. food was good, not excellent. will give it another try when back in the area.
We were giving Elevation a second try, after walking out a year or so ago (Elevations then too) for taking too long to come and take our order. We are part time residents and wanted to know if things had changed because we are involved in a wedding coming up in Linville and wanted to know whether to recommend the restaurant in the wedding material to the 150 people attending the wedding. They're from major metropolitan areas in northeast US and have never been to the High Country. We just don't know what to do now. We had a bad experience again. 1) Really couldn't tell who our server really was. It didn't make sense that the girl at the check in desk, who wasn't dressed like wait staff could have been our server. 2) Someone did fill our drink order but never came back to refill our glasses. Asked the person who delivered our food for refills and he eventually did it. 3) Heard three other tables around us complaining to the owner about poor service. He was caught unaware of their particular situations, as you would suspect, but we find it hard to believe that, all of this combined, he isn't aware that he's got a problem with the service culture at his restaurant. The food was good. Nothing to rave about, but solid. So, it's a shame to have to forego rec'ing the place because of the frustration we would be setting our friends/guests up for. The meal wasn't strong enough to overlook the service.
My husband and I have been Open Table customers for many many years. We chose this restaurant to celebrate two wedding anniversaries and two teenage birthdays during our annual family mountain vacation. There were 11 in our party. The owner greeted us and brought champagne for those celebrating anniversaries. It was a thoughtful gesture.
Our server confirmed the options on the children’s menu and told us their beverages were included. The check reflected the children’s entrées were priced the same as an adult entrée of $15 and beverages were charged separately at $3.00 apiece. Another member of our party specifically asked that pineapple salsa not be placed on their tacos, so she only ate the shrimp from 2 of the 3 tacos, once she realized it was not on the side. The owner was only willing to credit a portion of the cost because it was not immediately brought to the attention of the server.
The waitress (owner’s daughter) was not attentive regarding the accuracy of our meals nor did she refill our beverages. One of our family members refilled our water glasses. When we received our bills, we were charged an additional fee for using credit cards and over 23% gratuity was added to the check, on top of tax and the credit card fee.
Even though the ambience of the restaurant was very nice, and several family members found their entrées to be delicious, this was intended to be a celebration and annual family vacation. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very stressful and dissatisfying dinner.
I find it not quite right you were given a free bottle of Champagne one person ate two of the three tacos and said they didn't want them it was discounted we do not give free drinks to kids sorry but we did for you and no one filled there own drinks did not happen. End of meal she complained about CC service fee big sign up front, printed on menus. didn't like the 20% gratuity on a party of 10 standard, walked out on her $118.00 bill not right so please tell the truth Please pay your Bill
Awesome meal and great staff. Lived the beautiful tables and ambiance. I left my credit card there after dinner and when I called the next morning, they had safely secured it and held it for me until I picked it up.
Wow!! Thank you so much for the gluten free options!! Everything was delicious! The rice flour calamari fries were amazing! We loved the dipping sauces! Everyone needs to try the warm honey baked Brie cheese!! Yummy! The French onion cheese burger with Gruyere cheese, horseradish mayo and caramelized onions was absolute perfection. Our server was great! He really helped us with the menu options. He was very attentive with a great personality. The wine selection was very impressive.
The live music in the bar was the icing on top! Soft jazz on a Sunday afternoon can’t be beat! We are looking forward to our next visit!!! Can’t wait to try the mountain trout.
It could have been wonderful, but it just wasn’t. The staff tried mightily- but parts of my dinner were cold, my steak was overcooked, and while they tried to fix some things - they weren’t attentive enough to realize that there were problems. It got to the point where we stopped asking before we were just ready to leave. In addition to that the meal was extremely expensive considering the quality.
A group of women had lunch here. Had a great waiter...he was most accommodating. All the meals arrived at the same time. The food was tasty and hot.
I will not frequent again as they have two prices one for cash and one for credit cards. Rinky dink’
Wonderful service I believe her name was gabby and she was perfect
We were welcomed in a friendly manner by Felix. Our server was Gabby. Two of us had a seafood pasta dish that was tasty and delivered nice and hot. I had a pepper garlic shrimp with pasta that was really good. After dinner we had Irish Coffees, with such precision. It was an outstanding end to the evening.
