It has been a while since our last visit and the food and menu are much better then our previous visit.
The restaurant was crowded and the tables are too close together. I felt uncomfortable. The food was okay and overpriced.
El Dorado never disappoints. Good food in a laid-back atmosphere with cool Decor.
Service was great and the food we ordered was delicious. The only issue was that two appetizers we wanted to order were out of stock.
Please bring back some original menu items! It’s completely different and they now charge $3 per salsa for literally 2TBSP! The dishes are ridiculous in that they aren’t as wide as a chip and they are shallow so you cannot scoop salsa. We have tried twice to love our old favorite, but we don’t need to go back. Very sad that such a wonderful classic for over 28 years since living here is now done. Other dishes were waaay too salty (fish main). The best thing on menu is the street corn tempura and short ribs apps. You can literally spend $30 plus on salsa with a group, that is unacceptable!!
Great dining experience! Will definitely be returning
Great food, great prices! Highly recommend!
I couldn’t even take a bite of the carne asada taco the meat was so chewy. The bacon on the torpedo wasn’t cooked-also too chewy. The pastor taco was so bland it wasn’t enjoyable. Fantastic margaritas, salsa, and service. First time I’ve ever ordered 4 dishes and literally only ate 1 of them (salsa). Very disappointing 😞
First time trying out Eldorado Grill after hearing about the executive chef. Can’t say we were disappointed one bit.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was really cozy and the food was absolutely delicious. Menu had a ton of options and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend the salsas (pineapple one was delish!) and the margaritas were great too!! Try this place!
Early reservation before a play at Overture Center. The menu changes are disappointing and food was overpriced for portions.
The food was great, but the bar service was below average. We waited too long for simple drinks and even a glass of wine took way too long! We will probably go back, but the Bar Service needs huge improvement.
We made a reservation for Sunday Brunch, which was a great idea as there was a line waiting to get in. Very energetic buzz throughout the place. Service was great as was the food! We will be back!
The food was not great, two of us had to get a new order of what was ordered. The salmon seemed undercooked.
The waitress did not get to us for 30 minutes to even get drinks. They did acknowledge that we were missed and it was her fault. Second drink orders were not asked for. With all of that said, I know that they are understaffed and training new staff to come on board.
Food Fight restaurants to me are very over blown. They are consistent, however the food is usually bland and not great with unique flavors.
They’ve changed the menu and the food taste and quality is much worse than before. The huevos rancheros we’re hardly at all edible. Very disappointing.
All the good was excellent. High quality and interesting
The food was amazing- we will need to come back and work our way through the menu! Brunch cocktail were delightful. Service was excellent! We’ll be back.
Delicious brunch, good size portions, great value! We went two weekends in a row and will definitely be back.
Chips were greasy and tough, although salsa was excellent. Tortillas were cold. One of the fried appetizers was greasy. We had steak and pork as main dishes. Both were outstanding. Excellent service. Beautiful ambience. Great attention to COVID safety.
Great experience! Helpful and friendly staff. Food was delicious!
This was our first time here as we are from out of state. It was recommended to us and we decided to try it and celebrate my wife’s birthday. We will be back next time we are in Madison.
Great service and great food!
Both my friend and I ordered the Eggs Benedict which came with great potatoes and a small green salad. I’m not sure what the cup was that the eggs came in (maybe baked masa) but it was rock hard. The eggs were done to perfection!
I’ll definitely try it again as I think they just re-opened.
Another excellent Sunday brunch experience. The "Boozy Brunch" is a great value, especially if you split the drinks with a 2nd person.
Food was excellent, small portions for the $$. Disappointed that our rice and beans showed up after we ate our tacos. The turtle beans need some work - no flavor. Glad you are reopened, one of our favorites.
At first I wasn’t sure about the brunch as the menu changed. So happy to report that the food was great. The waiter was attentive and super friendly.
We were in town for a show at the Majestic. We had a nice meal with some interesting twists and the service was impeccable!
My friends and I were so happy to see the Boozy Brunch! As always the food was exceptional and the services was outstanding, and a great value for brunch. We will definitely be returning soon!
Great service and excellent food. Restuarant just reopened so don't plan for a quick in/out but fantastic meal overall.
Eldorado Grill used to be an incredibly good place to eat. Now that they have reopened after COVID something horrible has happened. While the service still is very, very good (Our latest server, John, is a humble servant and committed to helping ensure his customers' needs are addressed before the customer knows that they have a service need!) The food (Sunday brunch) was at best - and that is a stretch - average. Eldorado Grill claims to have brought back some of their menu items, but they most certainly are NOT the same menu items, and candidly, not worth the price paid. Even my Bloody Mary, spicy, was not worth their charged price.
Eldorado Grill has a strong customer base but I believe that before too long Eldorado Grill may wish that they had stayed closed to better refine their menu and take on a better chef team. Eldorado Grill may soon find themselves with far fewer customers who wish to eat, defaulting to a simply common Madison-area bar. Very sad experience. I do not plan to ever come back.
The food and cocktails were delicious and the staff was so nice.
Wonderful experience! The food was great and would say trended towards imaginative upscale.
Friend enjoyed the chicken main dish very much. Other friend and I were quite disappointed with the Cauliflower El Pastor (?) main dish. Needs more flavor and added veggies and much less rice.
Service was a bit slow, drinks took longer than expected given only bei mg moderately busy, however this was to be expected by reading the sign explaining new & short staff plus a new menu at the front. Drinks were good, food was amazing and the service we received was very friendly and apologetic for the wait.
Great spot to connect with a friend and enjoy brunch!
The food was not good!
Best restaurant in Madison !! The cheesecake is amazing. We’ll be back. Thanks so much
Teeny tiny no taste food--even Margaritas come in little glasses. Taco Shop guac was a watery, bland guacamole and too spicy salsa (described on the menu as tart) both served in tiny condiment bowls on a plate with a sad layer of tortilla chips. Since no spoons were to be found, we grabbed a knife and fork from a nearby empty table so that we could spoon out the tiny amounts of salsa and guacamole. When we told the server we did not like the guacamole and salsa, he did offer to bring another salsa after condescendingly commenting that for not liking it we seemingly had eaten most of it, which wasn't difficult since for 5 people there was a dollop each. The small plates were equally bad--bland, and just downright weird in presentation. Crab tostados--cold hunk of bland crab. Fish tacos consisted of two teeny tiny tortillas covered with a soggy layer of cabbage slaw and topped with a tasteless grilled piece of cod. The jalapeno escabeche is tasteless slices of carrots and hunks of cauliflower. The turtle beans are served on a plate and looked and tasted like they were just poured out of a can. Never did get the side of rice we ordered but server offered complimentary beer as well as a dessert. Music is so loud you cannot have a conversation.
Pork was way too fatty. Presentation was excellent Noise level way too loud. Hard to talk and hear. Waiter was terrific. Prior menu was much more interesting and enjoyable.
Really good! The service, food and vibe was all great. My only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is the menu was limited and the only chicken dish wasn’t available that night. Fish tacos were the best I have had.
New boozy brunch is a great value for what is included! Poached eggs were kind of solid compared to what I've normally had in a restaurant, but rest of food and drinks were great. Glad to see brunch return to Eldorado.
