Drinks were excellent, service was great, food was decent but the flan was lacking
We had an early reservation for 5:30 PM so we could put our kids to bed at a decent hour. The waitress forgot our appetizer order and we were waiting over an hour for our food. They did not put cheese on my daughter's cheeseburger and they had to take it back to the kitchen to add it. We had very hungry and grumpy kids. A couple that arrived after us got their food before us. The food was good and the live music in the dining room was nice, but the service was lacking this time. We have had lunch here before and had a better experience.
Ambience was fantastic. Food was really good. Three member mariachi band was very enjoyable.
Authentic New Mexico Mexican Food! Amazing posole and red chile!
Really made a special Valentine's Day! Everything is so good!
Hostess sat multiple walkins before even though we had reservations at 615. Was rude when approached about the fact that walkins were getting seated before. Tables were packed into small spaces. Not enough room to sit without elbows bumping or knocking the table.
A nice restaurant for my husband and I to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Excellent. Excellent service. Sopapilla were heart shaped for Valentine's day
Choices for everyone. Wonderful service. Nice ambiance. Little loud.
Food was great. Portion sizes very generous. Their house specials were exactly that, very special.
Food was surprisingly delicious, and not terribly crowded for the time we came. We will come back, for sure!
Great food and great staff
El Patron is good and service is excellent. I think the drinks are overpriced. The mexican food is no where near the best in town but the ambiance makes up for it.
The restaurant was busy but most tables were getting adequate service. Unfortunately, our table (and two others) had almost no service. Had to refill my own water glass while waiting 15 minutes for a drink to come from the bar. The food was good and a reasonable value. The mariachi band was too loud and made conversation difficult. Finally, the restroom was disgusting. Two of three toilets were literally overflowing as was one of the two sinks. I hope the kitchen was in better shape.
This was our third try at El Patron and we will not be going back. The service was OK, but the food was terrible. The two baskets of complimentary chips were completely greasy and most inedible. (You need to get tips from Chili’s restaurant! Their chips are always perfect). The watered down Mexican rice was tasteless. The taquitos were hard and difficult to eat - Overcooked. The only saving grace were the sopapillas -they were delicious this time.
Overall very good food / social experience for our group. The kitchen was overwhelmed with multiple group orders so delivery to table was a slow. Waiter and manager were very good about letting us know of kitchen crunch. Comp on total bill was provided and appreciated.
As always, food was outstanding and service was also.
First visit here and really enjoyed it. Spicy queso, tasty salsa and the chile rellenos were great as were the steak tacos. Drinks were good, not outstanding. It was nice having a live mariachi band there and the waiter was excellent. Bathrooms could use some regular attention and updating.
We had a great time. Food, ambiance , everything. I have always enjoyed El Patron especially their patio in the Summer and Fall.
The side dishes are just average or below average. The main dish items, however, were very good
Great service! Food was delicious and our server was excellent. The food its reasonably priced for the amount that you get.
Our server was great. The food and drinks were very good. We had a great time!!
The attendant at the airport rental car exit gate suggested this place and it did not disappoint. Fun, yummy and great ambiance. Always listen to the locals!
There was 8 of us. But they said our reservation was for 6 at 5:30. So we had to wait for a table that wasn’t very nice for us. Food was just fair.
As always, lovely experience. Food was superb. Attentive service despite very busy night
We wanted a very special place to dine with out of town friends we hadn't seen in many many years. El Patron met every expectation! Food, service, atmosphere was superior.
Had the sea bass and naked relleno, and it was fantastic. Waiter was great. Live music. Perfect dinner!
Great Food and atmosphere! Quiet enough for conversation, but lively enough with music!
Order had to be sent back as it had been sitting in the “window” way too long!
Excellent food and the waiter was outstanding. Our glasses never got below halfway and was constantly checking on us. They were pretty busy at the time but the food came very quickly.
Some excellent options. Lots of cheese (the way I like it)--thin chips. Salsa and some dishes (e.g. Enchilada Casserole) can run pretty hot for non-native-seared-tongue folk (as the menu properly warns).
Overall, I consider this the most upscale of the Mexican restaurants in ABQ, and feel the food warrants the prices (though would still like to be able to buy a pitcher of Margaritas or Sangria :).
New to the area got their about 15 minutes early and they did not have a problem seating me early. The service was quick and nice the food was prompt delicious and hot!
One of the best happy hours in ABQ, at least that we've found since moving here. We always eat in the bar for that reason. The food was great, as was the service. Not sure we could ask for more.
Great crema on calabacitas
We did not get the correct orders. We waited a very long time for food. Some of us got our food before others in our party. Overall, some of the food was cold and did not taste as good as it usually does
We were seated within minutes of our reservation time. The service to order drinks and food was a bit slow. The food and drinks were very good and the prices were great. We will be back.
