Was expecting to be wowed from what people had said. Was not. Service was super slow. Would not seat us in empty tables nearest the water. Food was tasty and the ambiance was good. 6.5-7/10

Absolutely amazing meal at El Dorado! Eli was our server and was awesome! If you are looking for a great atmosphere, amazing food, and a great sunset dinner, I strongly recommend El Dorado!

Great beach front place to enjoy your dining experience

We had a wonderful dinner at el dorado. The mussels, lobster tacos and fig salad were delicious. The only thing we had that we didn’t like was the crab bread which was just bread with some crab. We should have ordered two orders of the lobster tacos instead.

Magical night! We will be returning for dinner next time we are PVR.

They ran out the thanksgiving dinner - which is the main reason why I booked and specifically asked have that menu. However, the food was still good.

A must visit place in Puerto Vallarta. We were very impressed with the welcome we received when we approached the main desk for our reservations. We were given a front table for two on the beach.
Our waiter Allen was superb. He very knowledgeable and created a great experience for us.
We will recommend this restaurant to everyone we know and meet in PV.

The location is stunning—and that is clearly the money maker for this restaurant. We had high hopes after reading previous reviews, and even more so upon arrival when experiencing the location and view; but to our surprise, the food was uniformly mediocre from start to finish. For our appetizers, the crab bread was soggy, bland, and had the texture of canned crab meat; and the gravlax was slightly fishy and had none of the seasoning or sauce the dish implies. And as for our main courses, the seared tuna was concerning as its color was an oxidized dark gray inside instead of a deep red; the replacement mahi-mahi was overcooked and flavorless; and the recommended Mexican preparation of the catch of the day (red snapper) was a soggy mess of a plate. After so much disappointment, we decided to cut our losses and have dessert elsewhere. The setting *is* truly special—but unfortunately, the uninspiring culinary experience certainly doesn’t support the elevated prices.

The waitstaff and ambiance are great. Menu selection not as expansive as I’d expect. Running out of lobster whether appetizer or main course, didn’t help. Ordered the crab enchiladas which was light on the crab and pretty ordinary. Overall just okay on the food. If it not for the service and amazing view sitting beside the ocean, I likely wouldn’t consider a return visit.

Our family went fishing earlier that morning and brought back a Mahi Mahi to have that night. We brought it to El Dorado and they made the most amazing dinner for us! It was sooooo good!!! Highly recommend this restaurant! We will definitely do it again.

Ambience was great but the food experience was the worse we experienced in PV. And worse, it was the most expensive meal we’ve had in PV. The tuna was cut incorrectly. The squid was raw, and came back raw even after sending it back. The service was also subpar. Would not recommend.

Excellent again in cocktails, wonderful food elegantly presented, and superb attentive service. We always eat there several times on each trip to PV.

Service was pretty bad, I felt like a bag with money. First of all the waitress was pushy and it felt like he was trying to oversell. Also, we were sitting near a boardwalk and there were a lot of street vendors trying to sell us flowers, and all kind of other stuff.

Food presentation was beautiful.
Staff was very attentive and friendly.

On the beach. tables in the sand. Beautiful scenery. Wait staff were nice. 3 of us ordered lobster. 2 were really good. One was mushy. Waiter even looked at it with my fork. Waiter said that’s how it should be. I disagree. It was very expensive so would have been nice to have my bill reduced or the lobster replaced.

We were given the best service ever! Seats were reserved for us on the beach. The food was absolutely amazing! The servers definitely knew how to make us hungrier when they described the food options and specials for the night. And they did not disappoint. All of their recommendations were on point! We will definitely be dining here every time we’re in town.

Lovely dinner

I 2as fortunate to spend my 40th birthday dinner at the El Dorado last night. This by far was the highlight of my trip and the most amazing food my entire group ate for our trip. The service is impeccable!! In the current state of our world service as diminished and they were at the top of their game. The music was great, food was delicious and you couldn't beat the view. When in PV you must try the El Dorado!

The atmosphere was amazing. Live music was just right and lighting was soft and relaxing with a great breeze. Service A+. Food flavors were on point. Recommend for any special occasion.

Birthday dinner. They were sweet and brought my husband a complimentary flan. Great on all levels

The setting on the beach is just stunning. The service was great with Caesar as our server!! The food is well prepared and the live music provided a nice background. All in all a very nice evening. Highly recommend!

Wonderful! Be careful with google maps another location comes up that’s 6miles into town, this is the one that’s right on the beach, I loved it they took amazing care of me and partner and the beach front table made the night so special! The drinks were amazing the food blew my mind. I wanted a super romantic place and this spot was fantastic. You can see the pear from the table and local shot off fireworks over us during dinner… so cool! Night to remember!

Love this restaurant so much. Every time we make it down to PV we always visit and food never disappoints. Just wish the restaurant did more to prevent beggars and outside sales from coming up to tables when people are trying to dine.

My first trip to El Dorado and it did not disappoint -- the staff was phenomenal -- Max gave me incredible recommendations for drinks and food -- LOVED it. The ambience is perfection, and getting there at 7pm was ideal...watching the sun set was brilliant. Highly recommend, and ask for Max!

This place was spectacular! I celebrated our anniversary in this restaurant. The staff was so flexible and attentive to all my special requests. My wife loved this place. Super attentive, polite and wonderful staff. Loved it.

We had exceptional service ! The food was fantastic and our steak was cooked perfectly! Our waiter was so helpful and made wonderful suggestions. It was our first dinner arriving to Puerto Vallarta and definitely a memorable one .

Terrible food, terrible service, manager and all the employees give off the “better than you” vibe…go spend your money somewhere else. Overpriced as hell

The entire staff was amazing. We were celebrating our honeymoon and my birthday and they went above and beyond to make us feel special. The steak was fabulous. Thanks so much for the experience!
