You’ll be wowed by some of the best flamenco performers in the city as they bring pure and traditional flamenco dance to the stage.
As the show provides a feast for your eyes, you’ll also indulge in a culinary feast, with a choice of three- and four-course dinner packages that all include dessert. Every show is a unique and exciting display of one of the most elegant and integral parts of Spanish culture.
Good food & great service. Staff is super friendly! Can not wait until they are able to have live music again!
We all had a great evening. The staff was wonderful and attentive. The chicken empanadas were very good
The food is always delicious, especially the empanadas, and drinks are always perfect - the Cadillac margaritas and sangria are a fave. Great friendly service!
great casual fun spot, super chill and inviting, good backyard spot
The place has a nice atmosphere but the menu is a bit odd. Due check it before you go.
Was so surprised at the size and layout of the property.
Service was excellent and the Lamb Chops with Risotto were perfectly done.
Started with the grilled shrimp and those could be featured on their own! Will definitely be back. Cocktails also on point.
Charming outdoor service during the Quarantine. Plastic cups, knives and forks but still great food and historic ambience.
It was an unique place - you have to walked down the stairs to get into the yards which is very colorful (at nite), unique and colorful. It’s nice but with all the all surrounding and sky - there is no breeze nor wind and no fans so you will sweet abit. The drinks is okey, don’t expect much. The foods on the other hand, well it wasn’t that good. My friend said that it taste or look like from Costco. But the service is great (since he’s the only one with 10 tables for the whole time we’re there). He forgot us sometimes but he was super friendly and nice. That’s it.
They were super nice and welcoming, they accommodated us down in the patio for our anniversary.
Now the food was mediocre. The potatoes on the lamb chops plate were salty and many of them burned. Over seasoned. The lamb chops were not the most tender and they served it with a side of ranch dressing. The finger empanadas looked and tasted like the ones from Trader Joe’s. Definitely not made there, too salty. The sangria was ok.
They served us on paper plates and gave us plastic ware, I had to ask for a real steak knife for the lamb chops. Everywhere else in the westside they provide regular dinning ware. Not here. The food quality is mediocre and the presentation made me feel that we were at a fast food restaurant.
I wish there was music instead of comedy show. Or at least that should be told upon reservations
Most horrible dining experience of our lives. We had been to El Cid many times before and always enjoyed their dinner and shows. However, in these pandemic times, avoid it at all costs.
We were not allowed to sit in the main patio, although it was empty. They sat us by the street. The terribly overcooked lamb chops were served on paper plates with plastic utensils and paper napkins. The overpriced wine served in plastic cups by a rude waiter.
The band rehearsing in the empty main patio was cringe making with a singer who screeched 20's songs off key.Save your money. McDonalds would have been more enjoyable.
It was a pleasure to go to El Cid for the first time for my tenth wedding anniversary. My parent's used to go to El Cid in the sixties and often told me about to. It was a very nice experience. The Flamenco dancing was beautiful and the ambience charming.
We recently went to Europe on vacation and stayed in Barcelona for a couple of days. Over there, we watched a Flamenco show. As a date night we wanted to recall the vacation time back home in LA. We enjoyed The flamenco show, the Spanish food (paella), and the spanish flair at El CID. It was a wonderful time and we are sure we will be back for another flamenco show.
The flamenco show was beautiful but the food was just AWEFUL. I’m not a picky eater so that says a lot. The person I went with as well though his food was equally as terrible. Unfortunate because the location is beautiful and so was the show. I won’t be going beck or recommending this place because the food is that bad.
It was ok but not my favorite. Nice to go once and have that experience
I would only recommend El Cid to a friend for the historic value that D.W.Griffith built it so many years ago. I took my daughter for New Years Eve. The fixed price was $100. each which is understandable for the evening. The food was adequate at best. The soup was unrecognizable. the salad was really unrecognizable and not good at that. The paiaa for two was not great but was filled nicely with shrimp, muscles and clams. The flamenco dancing was worth the wait although I wish the dancers were as young and beautiful as were depicted in many photos and murals around the restaurant. I am all for people doing what they love but the folks on stage who were my age and older should be teaching a younger generation to take their place. I would only return for the ambiance which is excellent. I wish the owners would take a visit up to Yamashiro which is attracting a younger crowd again with their excellent food an ambiance.
I went for the flamenco show which was very entertaining. The atmosphere is nice and intimate and also a great place to come with a small group. I got the deal on Groupon which made it even better.
Had a fantastic time with my girlfriend! Great dinner show experience - well worth the money.
It was a super fun energetic and authentic Flamenco show. El CID has been in business in Hollywood for many years and it is still a blast. Even the fellow guests were fun. So worth it!
Great place! Good food! Get the groupon! Good deal :D
El Cid is a charming restaurant/bar. From the moment you enter and walk down the stairs you can feel that it has been around for a long time. It has years of love put into it! You instantly forget you came in from the city!
If you are going there specifically to see a flamenco show you came to the right place! 💃🏻 The dancers put their heart into their craft!
The staff is very warm and inviting!!
The venue has a intimate feel to it because it’s not too big. There is also a outdoor patio area that you can eat outside. It has a really nice ambiance filled with hanging lights and colored tile work that gives it a old world feeling.
If you want to escape the everyday routine of life and see a flamenco show, which is hard to find in Los Angeles this is the place to go!!!
Ps. El Cid also has many wonderful eclectic things going on after flamenco show. Djs and dancing on certain weekends! So make sure to keep looking at their website for fun things to do!!
Great value! Good was delicious and this is coming from a good snob. The chicken main entree was so flavorful and moist! The gazpacho soup was soooo good! Salad was yummy too. The chocolate cake was ok.
Entertainment was fabulous! The hour went by quickly.
We had a reservation, confirmed, Someone at El Cid called a couple of times to make sure we are coming.
We have arrived there at the set time, only to be told that they have seated a group of 18 that have arrived unexpectedly and we can not be accommodated. We were offered seating on an outdoor patio, which was not acceptable. It was cold and the place looked deserted.
We have left, ended up having dinner at “Le petit chateau “ in North Hollywood, it was great!
Terrible food! They served our group last and ran out of food and dessert. I will never return to this place!
The food was very good. We really enjoyed the show.
lousy parking...no valet, have to park in questionable lot with only 10 spaces.
food good but service poor. no chocolate cake as promised and no mint for mojitos!!!
high priced drinks. filthy bathrooms.
entertainment good but male dancers were ill-trained and could not keep up with the 3 women
not "professional" quality for a show
music too loud for small venue
first time celebrating friend's birthday who is a dancer...she enjoyed the dancers but balked at the high prices for food packages.
poor tapas choices
The Flamenco dancers, singer and guitarist were outstanding! That is why we came, so we were pleasantly surprised that the food and the service were excellent as well!!
Great show, low quality food.
Date night with my husband
had a great time food was great and so was the entertainment
Food was delicious. Ambiance is great. Worth the price. Awesome flamenco show
I was very excited about going here. I lived in Santa Fe, NM for years and love Flamenco. The show was pretty good so if you love Flamenco just go for that reason alone. The food was terrible. Really... terrible. And the service was ok. The service was by no means bad, it was just ok. Very rushed with the food. I had my 1st bite of salad when they brought the next dish. The place is really neat so just go for the dancing and ambience. You have to order the set menu. Sadly, I would not return unless I was going to see a band.
I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to a friend. It was freezing inside until they closed the doors. Now and then they would open if someone walked in and out. The portions of the food was a joke and you didn't get a full entry. I took friends who just got married and they ordered Paella entry. They were never told that it was one dish for two people. It was a joke. They got one small plate for two. My dish was chicken. One very small mini size piece of chicken that was dry. You couldn't even see a side dish. a couple of small very small potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the Steak and there were no side dishes. The $200 we paid for four people was worth maybe $75.
Love this place but it needs some updating in decor. Also horrible to have waiters do food service during show. My view was constantly blocked
We love the place! We keep going back every few years, and sending our friends to it.
The performance is AMAZING!
Would bring someone in a heart beat. The ambiance was great, the show was amazing, and it's such a cool retro place with so much history.
The place is an iconic landmark. We were late for the show, but enjoyed the food. The Tapas were better than the paella which was way to saucy. Service was very good and the drinks were made to order.
Service and food was disappointing! Slow, wrong, not enough attention.
