Been to this restaurant twice during trips to Jekyll. Once when it first opened (as the formerly named Corsair) and again last weekend. The first visit, we sat at a table and hoped for a traditional full-service white tablecloth meal. It was unremarkable at best. Gave it another shot on Shrimp & Grits weekend. Made reservations but decided to share apps at the bar instead. The service is great. The restaurant is cozy and decorated so nicely - beachy, Cape Cod, casual. There is only one Pinot Noir by the glass, which is what we had. We enjoyed the pimento cheese app - excellent home-made naan. Shared the lobster rolls which are OVERLY mayo'd. They are stuffed with lobster and the chefs should let the lobster sing with just a tablespoon of mayo and not mixed up like a salad. The homemade chips are yummy. The pizza is awful. I don't know how you mess up pizza in a wood-fired oven but I think the formula for crap pizza is - premade lame dough, canned tomato sauce, low-quality mozz and even lower quality pepperoni. I took one bite and said it reminded me of pizza you get at the skating rink. Not a compliment. The bar has a really nice table shuffleboard. Unfortunately, the restaurant doubles as the hotel lobby. On this particular evening, some rowdy children had taken to the shuffleboard table and for 30-45 minutes proceeded to slam the metal balls together and scream and laugh. Their parents nowhere to be found. I felt bad for the couple sat in the table next to this nightmare, their date completely ruined by these rowdy hotel guests. I love the shuffleboard and we've played it on our visits and also enjoyed sitting in the lobby w/ the fireplace. But keep children out of the bar and off the beautiful wooden shuffleboard table that's clearly for adults. We ended our dinner with the berry crumble for dessert. All the components of an amazing dessert were there - berries, sauce, crumble and vanilla ice cream. But it was served lukewarm and the components were not merried.
Food & ambiance was REALLY good. One problem: one persons meal came 45 mins after the others (mixup). They did not charge for the late one! The seafood tower was amazing.
Our waiter introduced himself, then left after we ordered & another took over-seemed like he had a lot to take care of.
Very nice & apologetic about the delay.
They need to get some foot rests on the higher dining table chairs. It was hard to dangle for 2 hours.
We’ll go back there, but sit at a regular table next time.
My daughter and I are staying at the beach club and celebrating being together with old friends from CT and Sweden. It was a perfectly lovely dinner. The chef made fried green tomatoes special for me to share this Southern delicacy with our friends. They were delicious!
We, a family of four, sat outside for this dining experience. The wait staff was good overall and all were very welcoming. My wife had the daily special fish and I had the steak. For and $85 filet mignon steak, the cut of meat was not very good. I could only eat half of it. The unusual part was that the waitress never asked if I liked it or not...
This was a truly excellent dining experience. A close friend of mine and I were treating another to a late dinner after finally arriving on the island. Our host was able to quickly take our cards and make sure the check was taken care of correctly. We were all seated inside the screened-in patio section outside with background music, ceiling fans, a view of the pool, and sounds of the ocean. Our server was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Appetizers were fresh and shareable. Some of the small plates are in fact not so small after all! My entree was crisp and perfectly cooked. After two bottles of wine, my only complaint was that my friends were feeling too full to split a dessert. Perhaps this is just the standard on Jekyll Island, but we felt taken care of. Thank you, Eight Oceans!
This restaurant clearly is not interested in offering customer value. It also is not offering quality food. My rib eye was low grade. My 2 drinks you tried to charge me $28 for. The waiter did a great job. I would not visit this restaurant again.
nice atmosphere, modern nautical design. food is VERY pricy for what you get. raw bar choices are very fresh and nicely prepared but small quantity for price. many seafood items are sold at market price so ask before ordering
Gabriella was a fabulous professional server and everything was wonderduk
EXCELLENT RESTAURANT IN THE JEKYLL ISLAND CLUB. THE SERVICE IS FIRST CLASS. THE SETTING IS WONDERFUL AND OF COURSE BEST OF ALL IS THE FOOD.
OUR MEAL WAS EXCELLENT AND REASONABLY PRICED.
IT IS A MUST GO WHEN VISITING JEKYLL ISLAND
Great food & reasonably priced. We had several meals here and every time was excellent. Some great specialty drinks too and very friendly staff.
Very nice, very laid back
Food was a little overpriced for what you get. Other options have tastier selections . Ambiance was the nicest thing there . My guest said the salad was fantastic but my shrimp and grits were not the best . Drink selection was great .
Beautiful place, wonderful staff, delicious food! My daughter is Vegan and they went out of their way to accommodate her. Most pleasant dining experience we have had in ages.
Excellent service and ambience. Food was amazing. Best place in Jekyll or possibly the only good place and it was amazing all around. Highly suggest eating here.
Mauricio is an excellent server and if you can get him your experience will be that much better. Wonderfully delicious and decadent clam chowder. The naan and pimento cheese app really good The cobbler dessert is so delicious!
Food was outstanding; service was slow; food took a long time to arrive; extremely loud table of drunks took away from the ambience; classy, resort structure and views otherwise.
Noise level from the bar was unbelievable, language unacceptable for my daughters, it took 30 minutes to get a glass of wine, 1 hour 45 minutes to be served dinner even with reservations. The meal was horrible, absolutely disgusting
This was our last stop on a quick weekend trip in jekyll as a “babymoon”. This was a random find due to some internet searching, and it did not disappoint. Great drinks, tasty apps, main dishes were tasty and the desert and very nice cherry on top. The wait staff were very attentive and timely. I would recommend.
By far the nicest place to eat on the island. The food was amazing, yet the setting was still a very laid back beachy kind of vibe.
I went for a business dinner, and it was easily the best food and atmosphere of any of the places I ate alt all week.
Service was superb. The oysters were wonderful and the fish were perfectly prepared.
Located in the wonderful boutique Jekyll Beach Club Hotel, the venue is great. Overlooking pool and beach. The service for dinner was mediocre and took forever. Several ordered items were forgotten dragging out the dinner. The breakfast next morning however, was great. Service was great and the food was delicious. It's a very comfortable environment- overstuffed sofas, live music, and fireplace.
Food is far superior to anything else we had at Jekyll. Quality food, well prepared. Even breakfast was amazing! Service was excellent, servers were attentive but didn't hover and were super pleasant. Atmosphere is great too!
We had a fabulous dinner while on vacation! Justin, our server, was amazing! Everything was delicious, especially the goat cheese hush puppies!!!
Amazing experience here. Great steak and shrimp cocktails. The view is beautiful and the staff is amazing.
Very loud. Don't need televisions in an "upscale restaurant". Not enough servers for an area that was not very crowded. Overly expensive for what we ordered. Better options on the island!
We ate at Cosair both nights we stayed at the Ocean Club and it is fantastic. Great varied menu and a wood fired oven. We had the seafood tower both nights!
The seafood at Corsair was outstanding! We ate at the restaurant for lunch and also for dinner. The shrimp from the Raw Bar was perfectly cooked and the cocktail sauce was fantastic. The shrimp cocktail in the evening would be better served if it came out on a bed of ice, as is done at lunch, vs on a plate because some of the shrimp were not chilled. I would skip the pizza as it was not very good, remarkably tasting a bit like a bland frozen pizza. However, the burger and other lunch selections were fresh tasting, well cooked, and full of flavor. The lunch and dinner fish selections, especially the Grouper, were out of this world. Very fresh, perfectly prepared, and bursting with flavor.
As for the service, the wait staff was friendly, but quite slow to come over to take our orders, bring drinks, or check in once the meal was served. This was worse at lunch than at dinner. Considering that the restaurant was never overrun with customers, this seemed as if it could be addressed with management direction and more training.
Overall, we would definitely return and would highly recommend the restaurant.
beautiful setting and nice people but very mediocre food. each meal was average to small size and without distinction. snapper, sea bass, and polenta were fair to bland. Grouper was more flavorful. This would be perfectly acceptable in a chain or low end restaurant, but not in a luxury hotel. the high point was the choice of salad dressings, all of which were good. there is no bread served, although that did not affect our opinion.
Dinner was a relaxing experience. Candlelight atmosphere, attentive service, and cuisine that was creative in both ingredients and presentation. Everyone in our group raved about their entrees and we left the restaurant entirely satisfied.
Food was ok but the service was terrible. We waited 40 min for our first drink. The waiter was nice but overworked. It seemed like he was the only waiter in the entire place.
Food is great, suits the casual Ocean Front Location well. The Hotel, staff, and rooms are great too.
My husband and I had dinner here during our Jekyll vacation. Corsair was our favorite dinner out. The new hotel and restaurant are beautiful. The service was fantastic and our meal was delicious. There was live music which added to the ambiance. We will go back.
It’s pricey and the food is okay. Best thing was dining by the ocean. Expected much better food and selection. We wished we would have chosen a different location.
Easily the best food on the island. Great variety, very creative, well done. Service was top notch.
Staff was nice and helpful. Atmosphere was nice. Price is a little high but that's to be expected for the area. Had a great time.
Excellent!! Enjoyed our visit. Corsair food and service was tremendous ! Robin Jones, our waitress several times, was outstanding. Every resort needs a Robin Jones on staff.
The wait staff is well trained, polite, and very efficient. Food was well prepared and delicious. My only negative comment is the seafood tower is not much of a tower. For the price, I expected more seafood...in comparison to McCormick and Scmicks.
Enjoyed the beach side dining. The wait staff was accommodating and friendly. We had the halibut with a pineapple salsa which was fantastic. Shared a peach arugula salad and unfortunately were too stuffed to try the great looking deserts.
We enjoyed our meal at the Corsair. The roasted oysters and crab cakes were very good. Unfortunately due to the weather, the doors were not open to the outdoors so I would love to go back when the restaurant opens to the pool area. I think the closed doors contributed to the noise level. Great service!
Anniversary. All food was cold, server had too many tables
