Ed's Lobster Bar - Sag Harbor
there was no one there. food portions were tiny and either salty or not seasoned. they said something that they were closing so pretty sure we got the last food before they close for good.
Food was ok. Portions extremely small. Not much lobster in Cobb salad and lobster roll small compared to other local places for the same money. Disappointed overall. Service was great.
The outdoor space is in a parking lot and they were out of half of the shellfish appetizers. One and done for me.
They did not tell us until we arrived that they were only seating guests outside even though they had a lovely, and completely empty indoor dining room. They sat us at a picnic table that had no lighting. We had to ask for empty glasses and keep our phones on top of the glasses on flashlight mode just to see to eat. In addition, it was evening but in the middle of a heat wave so it was about 85 degrees and very muggy and humid and they had no fans. .
The hostess was terrible. After that it was a very enjoyable evening. Service was excellent. Very much enjoyed the meal.
Great lobster roll and French fries - nice cocktails too
Casual cute space. The 1 ½ pound lobster is delicious, as are the lobster rolls and fish and chips. Pricey, but not for the Hamptons.
Probably usually better than last night. Almost empty with many items unavailable, two completely harried and stressed employees and a lobster roll that was “nice” but basically just some lobster and Mayo on a roll and fabulous French fries for $40 bucks. NYC Wd’s wins hands down.
If there is not enough help to serve people there, just provide take out like many Hamptons places so and everyone e will cope.
Had 7 pm rez, weren’t seated until 7:20.
Then food took forever to come.
They told us they were understaffed but at
those prices service should have been way better.
If they are so understaffed they should not have taken our reservation. Our main courses arrived an hour after we sat down.
The outdoors seating is a parking lot, keeping in mind this is during a pandemic but it was not great eating in a parking lot. and the food and drinks were very unexceptional considering the prices. the food was ok! all was eaten, but nothing left an impression for the price we paid. and skip the cocktails, they are just premade cans poured into a plastic cup.
Very expensive and not worth it for such a casual restaurant. Also our lobster roll was completely burned.
First time here. Service great. Fish tacos fresh and lobster roll delicious. Lobster nachos are a must have
The clam chowder was not great. The there was some only one unfriendly waiter that was overwhelmed with all the people dining there. The restaurant should not open if there won’t be enough waiters.
Could use more help but think they are doing the best they can with the labor shortage all businesses are experiencing
Everyone friendly. Restaurant nice and clean. Food fine
When the pandemic challenges settle down, should think about expanding menu
Need more staff
Good was average. Disappointed that key items including calamari and spaghetti with clams were not available. Lobster roll was small for the price. Wine was insanely expensive. $90-100 per bottle for a basic Sancerre. Waiter was not friendly and seemed perturbed when we asked to move inside. Dinner for 6 with wine was over $660. Not what you expect at a very casual place. Probably wont return. Not worth the money
Off the beaten track of sag harbor this little but trendy restaurant sits on the side of the road with a reputation coming from NYC. The style was simple and fun and then theme was stylish. The downfall to this eatery was the cost. I dont think I every paid as much for simple seafood in all my travels around the world. 35 for a small lobster roll. was insane. We were 4 adults and 4 kids and the bill was 300$ for nothing more then a side of the road meal. I would have loved it but the cost was just too much for too little. I was smile now each time I drive by and wave.
It was my husbands 40th! We had a large group and all accommodations were exceeded! The hostess was friendly and helpful and Jerry the waiter is now part of the family! Thank you for helping make my husbands birthday extra special
Outstanding service by Hillary. The lobster rolls and all dishes were delicious. The setting is casual/roadside “diner” for lack of a better description. It worke great for what it is..
Food was good just overpriced
Especially for the kids meals
The lobster roll was $35 on a hot dog roll, without even a hint of Cheaspeake Bay Seasoning, or any spices, not any mayo, no lettuce leaf or slice of tomato, celery piece, not even a pickle, just a glob of hard French fries. Lobster bisque had 3 tiny pieces of lobster meat. The small dish of mac&cheese was reminiscent of Velveeta instant from years ago. Homemade lemonade was good. The Pandora 80s radio station was loud. Danielle our server was very nice. The inside has a/c but the doors are wide open with flies buzzing in. Close to $108 for a major disappointment.
It was loud and energetic on a Saturday night; everything was fine with only a few small quibbles. I'd suggest considering a larger fish portion on the fish and chips plate; be sure to offer hand wipes for customers who choose the lobster; and perhaps straighten out responsibility for who brings the check to the table after the meal is finished. It took quite a while to get anyone to bring the check and then awhile to pick up our credit card to pay. But overall, the food was tasty, and the service was pleasant and polite.
Casual, nice, large outdoor dining, very friendly staff, dog friendly, good food, casual presentation.
We so wanted to love Ed’s but our disappointment was beyond. With the exception of a very sweet, accommodating hostess and our server our dinner was overpriced and mediocre at best. Lobster roll presentation, taste and quantity we all meh. Clam chowder was a watery disaster, although lobster bisque was quite good. Coffee was $6 for a cup, more than a bottomless cup at Guerneys and tasted like instant. Truly disappointing. No ambiance outside except loud music that detracted from any atmosphere.
Great food, very low key setting, and our waitress was excellent!!!!!
Cute place for a fun dinner. Staff was lovely. Food WAS GOOD.
Great local spot for lobster rolls etc
Fresh food great service
Disappointed. Food was mediocre at best, overpriced and absolutely no ambiance.
Soup bot hot, waiter never came back to ask, lobster was muchy and awful
Our lobster rolls were delicious as well as were the clams. My only reservation was the price! $35 for lobster meat on a hotdog roll with some fries seems a bit excessive!
Food was great
$35 for a rather small lobster roll. Come on! Nice place but just not worth it.
Ed's is a bright shiny white bar place with an open kitchen and an energetic vibe, with music to match. Excellent simple seafood with a focus on lobster, as you might expect - from rawbar items to lobster rolls, lobster cobb salad, and a hamburger for those who wandered in here by mistake.
A great place for a terrific meal at reasonable prices for what it is. Noise level makes it a challenge for serious conversations...
This was our first “dine in” experience since Covid hit 15 months ago!
We sat outside, our five month old Golden Retriever was also welcomed with a bowl of water.
Only complaint was the reggae music making it hard to hear each other.
Food was simple and tasted great. Service was attentive and friendly.
The food is excellent, albeit expensive for such a casual place. $35 for a lobster roll with fries? Great vibe.
Best hot lobster roll I’ve had! Lobster bisque was also amazing
Tuna Tartar and mussels in wine/ garlic sauce were very good. Very disappointed with lobster rolls. For $29 each, tasted like bland store bought lobster salad. Macerated meat without a single identifiable chunk of lobster. Two apps, 3 lobster rolls and 3 beverages (non-alcholic) was $150 before tip. On the positive side, staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is bright and open. They are also outside the main business district, so traffic and parking was not a problem. Of course, it's only late April...
The service was great also the people were very nice, the food was okay and the atmosphere was fast food like, but overall GOOD!!
The servers were very attentive. However, the food was lacking in taste (specifically the lobster rolls). 3 out of 4 adults had the signature lobster roll and none were pleased with their meal. Fish tacos, calamari and mussels were delicious.
Peter and team are excellent as always!! Best restaurant on the entire east end.
