Food was good. We were happy to sit outdoors overlooking boardwalk/water. When we made our reservation, we selected the option to let them know it was our wedding anniversary - wondering why you have that option available if you aren’t going to acknowledge the special occasion when we are there. The waiter never asked us if we were there for a special occasion. We would have appreciated some sort of acknowledgement or even maybe a small celebratory dessert on the house. Also, we had to ask a different server other than our own for a cocktail because our server did not attend to us much. Our server was friendly when he was at our table.
Server was great, food was ok to good. Priced high for what you get. Small salad was $9.00 and bowl of soup was also $9.00. Three people approximately 150.00. Great view though!
My family and I had dinner there last night and it was a really nice time. The hostess was incredibly rude to us even though we were so nice to her, but our server was so fantastic and sweet that the bad first impression was turned around very quickly. Food was A++ and we loved sitting outside with a beautiful view of the harbor.
Expensive prices for the food you get. Got our food mixed up and gave it to a different table and had to wait an additional 45 min for our food and for our waiter to address the situation.
Attentive wait staff
Nice waterfront ambiance
The Edgewater Grill has a great location right on the bay, and we enjoyed a perfect little table next to the water. The service was good, and the food was tasty as well. They have a somewhat limited menu, and the price is on the higher end. However, you have to expect that given the location.
Beautiful location, service was great
Food mediocre- we ordered calamari, it was a tiny portion and mostly breading. Fish tacos were ok - fish was over cooked and super chewy.
Perfect. Very nice staff, juli was our server. Very sweet. Food good quality and view was just beautiful.
Waiter not very attentive, runner brought out some food but not all, waiter never checked back to see if we had everything or needed anything else like drinks, condiments, etc.
Overall a little overpriced, nice views from the patio the food is ok. Pretty good service, but the inside smelled very fishy and it was confusing to find the hostess at the end of the bar. Casual for sure.
Amazing food, views and service.
We had a good experience at Edgewater Grill. Two of our dishes were very good but the margarita flatbread and the catch of the day (Halibut), did not have much flavor. We will give it another try tho, because the location is phenomenal and we had a great seat on the patio. The ocean view was worth the price we paid.
It was our Anniversary we asked for a table looking out at the view, we were put in the bar far from a good view. Our drinks took forever and the dish we ordered was over cooked. Waitress was friendly. Don’t mind paying the high prices if the experience is above average.
Opentable asked me if I would like "hightop" seating and I had no idea what that meant so I said yes and even the restaurant didn't know what it meant either so we ate outside on the patio.
Yesterday my family and I had an awful experience at Edge Water Grill. The service was poor, the food took over 40 minutes to arrive and we had to ask multiple times for the check. When we approached the manager to inform him of our concerns, he didn’t even offer an apology, he said nothing and did absolutely nothing! Another employee blamed the slow service on the amount of tacos that were ordered by another table! What does that have to do with our food? I am a resident of San Diego and I will never recommend this restaurant, nor will I ever return.
Great ambiance. Service was good but the problem was short staffed kitchen. Beautiful shops and scenery. Great for a date and or small party. Family day or any occasion. Prices are great. Enjoyed my birthday before a long ride home to Las Vegas. Til next time seashore village.
Seating on patio was superb. We were entertaining guests from landlocked Arizona, so the bayside experience for them was exceptional! The food was delicious and the service outstanding, with all servers and assistants being very attentive. Will highly recommend The Grill to others and will definitely dine there again when in San Diego. (we are from Oceanside)
Food was bland and overpriced
But service and the view was amazing!!!!
Great view of the harbor and for people watching. Food was below average. My fish was very dry and overcooked. Service was okay, most didn't seem to want to be there.
Nice view, good service. Reasonable price point. Enjoyed the tacos. Recommend the brussels sprouts
Restaurant is only good for the view, poor was very lackluster.
Do NOT get the crab Benedict! It is not edible for human consumption! The waitress could not explain anything about it which should have been a warning!
Fantastic. They were able to accommodate a family of four with hungry children on a busy weekend! Service was excellent understanding they were busy and low on staff. Food was fantastic!
Nice outdoor table. Food was pretty good and the view was nice. Waitstaff was helpful and fairly attentive. Definitely planning to go back, as it was a very good experience overall.
Our watress, Kristi, was the best thing about this restaraunt. They are aware of one of their issues, so I won't discuss; but one main thing is their approach to Steak (i.e., ribeye, strip, other, etc...). C'mon, Chef! I'm not a professional Chef (but my Dad was) and even I can create a better sear/Maillard Reaction to any choice of doneness to beef. Surprisingly, the Scallops were cooked perfectly. Did Chef just temporarly drop the ball with our order? In this Semi-Post Covid period it's really important for a restaraunt to put it's best foot forward if it wants to succeed nowadays. With rising prices to everything, even people with money are starting to become more choosey. Put a good product on customers tables and a large part of the battle is won. I liked my waitress, but the product placed on the table was subpar. I won't back anytime soon.
Service was pretty good but waiter forgot to bring an appetizer. Food was fair. Overcooked fish and burgers. Tables were old and wobbly with poor finish and booth seats were worn down and uncomfortable.
Gabe server was great… asked for change of swordfish to Mahi mahi.. kitchen agreed and sent Swordfish anyway.. beverage prices were overly inflated…
The food and setting are amazing! Best fish tacos EVER and scrumptious Sea Scallops!
Excellent choice for our anniversary dinner. Food was especially mouth watering delicious. Would definitely visit again
Celebrated a Birthday. View was perfect. It was fun to people watch. Risotto was bland. Cocktails were really tasty. Gabe our server was perfect.
Wonderful service! Stunning view and location. Good is very average. It’s good but bit great. I’d go back 100%.
Sat outside. Excellent view of the bay along with great people and dog watching. Prices were not outrageous but slightly higher for the items offered. Service from Trevor was very good... friendly and attentive
We had the best seat in the house and the best waitress. Food - outstanding. Ambiance - perfect. Service - county's best!
We go to the Edgewater Grill often, love the view and the food. Always an excellent choice. It is a little expensive but I figure their rent is high so I am okay!
The restaurant and service was great, however some person came up to our table and took one of our chairs from us without asking which was very rude. I don’t plan on retiring to this restaurant
One of our favorite places to eat in San Diego. Excellent service, outstanding food and the best harbor view in town.
Nate the waiter was excellent. He was friendly, professional and helpful. The food (Halibut) was cooked and prepared to perfection. Only issue was with the bartender. He seemed to have an attitude problem. Will not go to bar on our next visit.
Very nice place to eat with great views. Food is good, but I go more for the ambiance anyways.
