Wonderful meal and exceptional service(Robin was awesome!). Definitely will visit again.
Excellent atmosphere and delicious food
This place is lovely ! Small and classic, gives you an intimate and personal vibe...really a fabulous spot and highly recommended. An undiscovered gem!!!
The food was excellent. The latte was one of the best I've had. It was a perfect late morning breakfast.
This was such a nice experience. We went for restaurant week and the menu was limited but very tasty. The atmosphere was great and it was about the dining experience, they didn't rush you or push you out at all
From our arrival, till we left, we had impeccable service. Very friendly and a nice, comfortable environment. The food was delicious. Each course was better than the first. We will be back!!
I personally didn't care much for all of the food, but that was completely just personal preference. My husband was over the moon about everything that was served. The atmosphere was amazing and they were able to seat us early, which was very appreciated. Our waitress was dressed a bit unprofessionally in my opinion (very short tight dress, sneakers, hair thrown up in messy ponytail), especially for a more upscale place. But overall, we had a very nice date night and would definitely consider going back. Recommended for anyone who enjoys dishes that are cooked with plenty of wine.
Very quaint place. Great service. Food was good, especially fig Gorgonzola app.
Service was very good and food was excellent
New Years Eve
The food and service was great.
We have been here many times and it never disappoints! We went on Christmas Eve this time since we couldn’t travel hone for the holidays and wanted something special. The owner is always so wonderful in his greeting to us and the space is warm and inviting. We also felt “safe” with spacing and door was open for proper airflow during this crazy pandemic. We enjoyed a five course meal and a lovely bottle of wine. Each course was perfect!
Can’t say enough about this place and have already planned our next visit in a couple weeks with friends.
Was very cozy and food excellent! Very small could be larger!
Very enjoyable visit. Charming and cozy with delicious food.
Great little cafe styled restaurant near the water. Had a nice quiet breakfast on a Sunday morning!
Great breakfast. Very fresh. Waitress exceptional. Will be back.
Hidden gem of a restaurant. Owner, Robin, was a delight to talk to after dinner. Pork medallions were delicious and nicely presented. Beef Bourgogne was also very tasty. Will definitely return.
My wife and I made impromptu Sunday Brunch reservations. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, deep window sills and a view onto an old cobblestone street in Charleston's French Quarter. Great food and service! The daily specials must be tried and the Fig Terrine starter.
Me and my girlfriend visited on Halloween night. It was very quiet and not busy at all. I had a delicious glass of sparkling wine, the shrimp scampi was yummy, and my girlfriend loved the chicken frances. She also enjoyed a cup of tea. Very cute, small, adorable restaurant.
Long wait even with reservations but understandable with limited seating. Food was excellent after a long wait. Service was so-so.
Great menu - Great food - Great staff! We had a truly enjoyable time!
Fresh and delicious. Very quaint
Small, cozy atmosphere...good food and great service
Have enjoyed this place a few times in the past few years. Every experience has been great a d this one lived up to that expectation!! Erin was our server, she was prompt, professional, and friendly. Our meal was a pork dish and a beef dish, both amazing. This place is a little gem!!
East Bay Cafe was a great delight! First time we dined there. It was elegant, with white fabric table cloths and napkins, excellent, friendly service. The food was seved at a grat pace, cocktails were delicious. our appetizers and dinners were varied and all prepared beautifully and very tastey. We'll be back again, and will bring our friends!
Great food and Service... It's our second time eating here and both times were great. Intimate and attentive service...
Lovely restaurant and scrumptious food! The decor and furniture was the perfect atmosphere. We felt very safe eating here despite COVID-19.
A great looking quiet spot in Charleston. Excellent ambiance and lighting. The service was friendly and prompt. Everything started great. Our drinks were pleasant and well made. The fruit and cheese board was fresh and well assembled. Our meals, on the other hand, were very sub-par. My wife had the beef bourguignon, and it arrived lukewarm. Somehow the beef, though tender, was very dry and difficult to eat. I had the Chicken Francaise that was tough, served on a bed of mushy overcooked angel hair pasta, and tasted as though the capers might have been an afterthought while the chicken overcooked.
I had hoped for a much better meal that evening and was very disappointed.
Enjoyable dinner
A quaint dining experience that we enjoyed very much.
Very good, as always! The pain perdu for dessert was excellent! my husband loved his beef bourguignon. I had the chicken francese which was just ok. Next time I will go back to the pork medallions. Staff wore masks and requested guests without one, to put them on. All in all a great dining experience. We will definitely return!
Wonderful meal and great service who can ask for more. Definitely will spend some time here again.
Food was excellent. Hummus and pita some of the best I have had. Caprese sandwich very good. My husband had curry chicken salad and liked it. Its a rather quaint place, not a lot of decor - but quaint in a Charleston way.
But so much of the food on the menu was not available. No chardonnay. But my husband liked the Bloody Mary alternative. The first 2 items I ordered were not available. The first ones my husband ordered were not available. In the end, the food we had was delicious, very fresh .....His salad was full of fresh lettuce. s
So would recommend going for lunch, but don't have your heart set on certain items.
They are still a new restaurant, and I believe will get it all together soon.
We had a lovely dinner at East Bay Meeting House. it would be wise to make reservations, because they had to turn people away that hadn't made reservations that didn't want to sit at the bar. The food was outstanding, as well as the service. Everything was fresh and everyone ate all of their food. I would definitely recommend it and we will be back!
What a find. I have lived in Charleston for a little over seven years and didn't know about this restaurant until a week ago. Same for the other couple we dined with. We just love the cozy atmosphere here, nicely appointed, white cloth table cloths and very comfortable cushioned chairs. This is a big deal for Charleston since so many restaurants here have hard wood chairs and tables with no tablecloth and frankly, very little atmosphere. East Bay Meeting house has all this in spades along with a darling bar area. We had a delicious dinner but I'm excited to try them for breakfast, lunch and high tea as well. There was a darling young girl who was the main server for all the tables as well as the bar tender and she did it all with perfection and ease. The restaurant is very, very small...maybe 7 or 8 tables which can be pulled together for larger groups. We all had great meals and enjoyed the experience overall and will definitely be back.
Vacation splurge.
The owner was great! Very hospitable a d a joy to chat with!
Exceptional care by owner and staff. Food was fantastic.
Wonderful find for dinner before attending the Dock Theater. We enjoyed having a couple of glasses of wine during Happy Hour, quite the deal! The setting, service, meals and dessert were very enjoyable. We would highly recommend East Bay Meeting House for a relaxing evening, wonderful food at a good value.
East Bay Meeting House was hands down the best meal we had in Charleston. It was like being transported to a small European cafe. The ambiance was perfection. The wine selection was nice and reasonably priced. The fig terrine was the perfect start to our meal. Entrees were flavorful and not overly heavy like so much of the food in the area. We received kind and knowledgeable service and had a truly wonderful evening. Highly recommended for a quiet romantic dinner.
