I went on a lovely date with my partner at East Bay Meeting House. The food was wonderful - I had chicken francese and my partner had shrimp scampi. We also both had a handcrafted cocktail that we both really enjoyed. It was a quaint small place where the owner made you feel at home. I'm so glad we stopped in and I would definitely go back if I lived in Charleston.
Love this charming small restaurant in the heart of Charleston. The service, food, and environment were great. We will be back.
Excellent service and delicious food. The prices were very reasonable. Will definitely be back. Great dessert.
The food was outstanding and the service friendly and prompt.
We were touring the city with a toddler and couldn’t get in anywhere for at least an hour. The servers were fabulous with the baby and accommodated us with a delicious meal, wonderful drinks, and chocolate cake to go! On top of that the bartender cane over to make friends with our little one and make her feel special!
Made reservations for breakfast, but wasn't necessary as there were plenty of tables open on a Wednesday morning at 9 am. Service was fast even though there was only one lady working . We ordered the omelette of the day (prosciutto and swiss) with potatoes and the mushroom and ham quiche with fresh fruit. Both dishes were excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was great!
As always warm friendly service and really good food. Quiet with TCM for any entertainment you might wish. Not over the top but really good value for adults! Not for hyperactive or undisciplined children!!!
What a wonderful little find! Quiet, gracious, intimate with a delicious little menu. Great service and ambiance. Although there were only four entrees, I could have ordered all of them; they looked so good. Authentic French food. Especially liked the appetizers and small plates. Be sure to try the fig, pecan, and gorgonzola appetizer! A perfect place for a bridesmaids lunch, corporate or romantic lunch or dinner. And I hear they offer Afternoon Tea - can't wait to try it! I'm recommending this darling little find to all my family and friends, but I hope it doesn't become too popular because I want to be able to get a table!
Food was outstanding from the apps to desserts! We were very pleased with the service and ambiance !
Wonderful find. Welcoming service, delicious food, incredible cakes.
A cute little gem of a place. Good food, good service.
This may be our new favorite spot in Charleston. We’ve visited Charleston several times, but somehow missed this gem on East Bay. Small cozy restaurant with nice ambience, great service, and delicious food. We were very pleased with everything from the moment we arrived. We highly recommend this place, and we will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful dinner here. Service was excellent. Food delicious. Wonderful ambiance
Returned for breakfast the next day. Had the same experience and breakfast was delicious.
Will definitely dine here again.
Perfect dining experience. Fabulous atmosphere, delightful owner who paid special attention to each of the patrons. Food was divine.
What a warm, cozy place! Loved it!
This charming restaurant has a small menu, but we always find something we enjoy eating. The ambiance reminds me of a small European cafe, and the owner is very personable.
Food was mediocre at best. Bathrooms were very dirty and the restaurant was not busy (most tables were empty during Sunday lunch time).
We tried East Bay Cafe as a pre theater spot for supper. It worked out perfectly. The gorgonzola cheese appetizers was very good. Our entrees were exactly as described and the service was very attentive, We were there past Tea Time but a food editor was there to sample the offering. We got to witness the Tea service. It is worth going back for.
Lovely small venue. Exudes a sense of old Charleston. fun brunch menu, friendly service, great coffee.
I took my wife and college-aged daughter to East Bay Meeting House Bar and Cafe for a delayed Valentine's Day dinner on a busy Saturday night and it turned out to be an extraordinary evening far surpassing any expectations we had. My wife said it was the best Valentine's Day dinner she ever had! The intimate, eight table Parisian ambience was complemented by outstanding service, hors d'oeuvres that were worth the trip by themselves and a dinner that was perfectly prepared. We live in Mount Pleasant so we dine in Charleston quite often but somehow in the seven years we have lived here we missed this restaurant. The soft music in the background was a pleasant surprise and allowed for truly wonderful conversation. I am sure we will return many times for dinner, brunch and perhaps even tea. This was a 12 on a scale of 10!
My husband and I made reservations here for Valentine’s Day and were very pleasantly surprised. There was a special menu that evening offering 5 courses and limited selections for each course. Dishes seemed to trend toward Authentic French cuisine and we were not disappointed. The Creme brûlée was outstanding and the French wine we ordered was very good. Service was excellent and personable. We will be back!
Very nice and intimate atmosphere, with great American-French cuisine
Restaurant was not busy when we went (5:30 Sunday) after a matinee play. The waitress was very friendly. The flood was tastefully done - the menu is good, but somewhat limited. It is a good place to go for a get together with friends, as it is not too noisy. Nicely appointed with a nice bar and quiet setting.
Food was good, not great. The most disappointing part of the evening was the service, not that it was bad but it was as though they didn't really care. I expected a more intimate, engaged level of service but instead got blah. Maybe just an off nite for them. I wouldn't go back, there are so many other great places to eat in Charleston with 5 star service.
We had a great meal and a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the host was exceptional. I loved the small cozy setting. The pear and Gorgonzola cheese app was especially good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff
This was a great find. Nice menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner was wonderful. Great music selections in the background. Reminded us of a Bistro in Paris that we visitied.
Love it! The setting is perfect. All of the staff are extremely accommodating. They always exceed our expectations.
This place is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Would highly recommended.
Nice quiet table for two for my daughter's birthday
A small but adorable venue. They are open for everything Breakfast, Brunch, and Dinner. They also offer special tea time menu if you request it ahead of time. We will be back again a very nice place with friendly staff and a very romantic vibe.
This is a small intimate environment for a restaurant. It is very comfortable and the service is very personal. The fig Gorgonzola terrine was wonderful as was the creme brulee. The pork medallions and chicken were also very good. We recommend this restaurant.
What a pleasant find this was. Great food and Robin was wonderful as owner and server. We will certainly be back and we recommend for a great date night or just visiting with friends.
Our food was fabulous from start to finish.
Food was outstanding, ambience terrific and excellent service! Very impressive.
It was our first visit - first of many!! It is a small venue, but the attention by staff and quality of food! It was my first savory crepe - it was wonderful!
This was a surprise for it was quaint and almost like being at home. Great brunch on Sunday and just a simple place with great food. Beautiful bar area.
Customer service is the best around. Real mom and pops feel to it
This is a small restaurant -- only eight tables plus a ten-seat bar. We immediately fell in love with the place. The food proved to be excellent and we actually had to talk in hushed tones so as not to intrude on other patrons. The only thing we were disappointed with was our failure to notice this restaurant during our fifteen years of dining in downtown Charleston.
