We’ve been to this restaurant numerous times and used to really enjoy it. Our last couple of visits have not been great. We understand restaurants are short staffed these days and try to give some grace, but yesterday’s visit the service was just poor.
We were seated promptly and after a few minutes our waitress cafe and took our drink order. She then never came back to take our food order, despite walking by our table numerous times and checking in on all her other tables in the vicinity. We finally had to grab her (about 15-20 minutes after we’d gotten our drinks) to ask if we could place our order. She took our order but appeared annoyed we stopped her. Not sure that we’ll return after this last experience.
Food took quite awhile considering there were only 5 tables without food when we were seated. Food didn’t have a lot of flavor. Soda was flat and syrup to soda ratio was off.
Sunday brunch, and it was delicious. My only “issue”? I’m vegetarian, so I asked for the meat that came with my meal to be brought on a separate plate. That way there wouldn’t be any cross contamination, and my friend could have it instead. I watched our server type it into the order, and it still came out with the meat on the main plate. Fingers crossed, there wasn’t any of the grease on the French toast… I didn’t have the heart to send it back…
Our server, Ashley, was amazing. They were slammed and under staffed, and she handled it well. She was so sincere in her apology for the food being served that way. I will come back and try it again.
Not worth the price. I was wondering why it was half full when I got there….
Delicious breakfast options in a very delightful setting!
Long wait for food. 2nd time trying the restaurant and long wait the first time as well.
They didn’t have our table ready and seemed surprised when we arrived, but said the reservation was there when I asked, later we noticed several tables being marked as reserved. After scrambling to get us seated our waiter was very helpful and the food was good.
A great place for breakfast. We went earlier and the place was nice and peaceful but it quickly became busy and loud when it did. I would sit outside next time to avoid the noise. The food was great, we all enjoyed our meals and the avocado was so fresh!
Honestly the servers and managers were wonderful- however the food was brought out to quickly literally right after we placed the order
First time there - chose it off the internet for outdoor patio, fresh menu ideas and it was a smaller venue. Haven't been in a restaurant environment in or out since March 2019. It was a treat!
Over-priced for absolutely NO reason-purely a business that only wants $$ They do not care about taste, quality or the experience just stealing that all mighty dollar!! Waffle House is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better I promise!!
The hostess said we were 15 min late for the reservation but we weren’t. Two tables that were seated after we were received their food before our server even took our order and when we did get the food, the syrup was as so watered down it didn’t even resemble syrup anymore. Lastly - I think salad as a common side for breakfast is kind of a strange choice…
Great food & value AND they take reservations! The staff is attentive and responsive to any need.
We went to brunch on Father’s Day and it was SO loud in the restaurant that I couldn’t even hear my parents talk across the table. The food is mediocre and expensive.
We had to wait a very long time for food and at times for our server to check in with us. Otherwise it was great ambience and freshness with the food
First time there. It was great and will be back!
Great food and great service.
A delicious place to spend the morning with family.
I struggled on writing this review, because I am in the hospitality industry. I 100% understand the staffing struggles everyone is facing right now. We have to be smart about how we reopen. If you don’t have enough staff, maybe don’t open to capacity just yet. Don’t you want customers to want to come back? Waiting over an hour for food, with no communication, just isn’t acceptable. The manager walked by a dozen times, saw our empty drinks and no food, and didn’t even acknowledge us. The major bummer part is, once we did get our food, mine was completely the wrong thing. I didn’t say anything, as we already had to inhale our food in effort to make an appointment we had. Overall the food was really tasty, little overpriced ( $11.50 for a waffle! ) and our server was doing the absolute best she could with 15 tables. Not sure if we will be back-
The food was not good. I ordered fried chicken and it was slimy and not crispy. I developed nausea within 15 minutes of leaving the restaurant. Over-priced and not good. Could have gotten better food for a lower price at HashTag, Snooze, Denver Biscuit Company, or First Watch. I will not be back.
Amazing food and great staff
The place is nice and you can have a nice conversation... the music is not too loud.
If you go on Sundays the food takes forever to arrive to your table... so be patient and enjoy a good conversation with a cup of coffee while you wait. The Server was very nice, professional and was all the time checking on us.
We picked this place because they take reservations. The reviews weren't great so we were pleasantly surprised. The place was cute as can be and our server was very nice. The food was very good. We really enjoyed everything. I would recommend Early Bird!!
I was extremely disappointed with the french toast. Not at all like the description I had read. Bland and boring.
2nd time there. Both times food was awesome. Both times, service was bad. Had reservations and got seated promptly but waited 18 mins before even getting water and being promised a server ‘soon’. Another 10 mins and we finally got coffee and placed our order. No refils on coffee or any sign of server until after a kitchen staffer brought our food out.
Again...food was great both visits but service was poor both times as well. Likely not going back, which is a shame because it is a comfy place with good food ...just can’t tolerate poor service on my only two visits.
Ernie was our server and his attitude was complete trash. Couldn’t be bothered. My guess is he related to the manager or owner because there is no way in hell he would be able to work anywhere else . I waited 45 minutes for a Bloody Mary and he gave me attitude saying it’s being made. Didn’t know it takes 45 minutes to make a Bloody Mary. News to me. I’ll never go back.
Cold food, poor presentation, pretty bland, and the restaurant leaned awfully quickly into the lack of a mask mandate for their staff.
Not sure if it should matter but the restaurant closes at 2:30 and that was the time of our reservation. It was mothers day and the menu was a buffet style so you can imagine our disappointment when we were charge full price for scrapes. Everything was cold and pretty much not very good. Probably won't go back. Or recommend to anyone. We felt like we were being scammed out of our money from the beginning.
Mother’s Day was buffet only. Very costly @ 30$/adult. Spread has nice variety, but some hot items (pancakes & waffles) just sat on plates getting cold. Service was nonexistent. Will not go again.
The Mother’s Day buffet was disappointing, over priced and the food was cold.
Alejandro was so friendly and helpful! The chicken and waffles knocked it out of the park and the passion fruit mimosa was delicious! We sat in the patio, and the atmosphere was hoppin’! Love this place!
Part of our party arrived and checked in on time and part of us were late, it still took the restaurant twenty minutes to seat us. We waited another 15 minutes before our server took our order, he forgot our coffee, and it says 20 minutes before food arrived. The food was good, but the service level is lacking.
The food was not great, less than mediocre. The service was not good, we weren’t even sure who our server was since they didn’t greet us with hi or hello, they just started pouring our water. The server never came back to check on us either. Pretty bad experience.
Very frustrating experience. We were seated directly next to the waiter station, so it was consistently busy and loud and the wait staff hovering over our table. I understand they have to have a station but they should not to put a table there. Took an hour to get our food. Had to ask multiple times for cream and sugar for the coffee. I ordered Johnny cake waffles ‘flavored’ with peanut butter and banana and bacon as the meat. I was very shocked to see if that for $16 I got 4 smaller than the palm of my hand waffles that were burnt. Also the “flavoring“ was just a scoop of peanut butter in the middle with a sliced banana on top. That’s fine but the menu made it out to sound a lot better than that. I asked for syrup and the manager grab syrup and hot sauce from a table that had not been bussed yet and set it down on my table. It was dirty and sticky and I don’t appreciate in these COVID days not wiping things down before you had them to somebody else.
When I didn’t like the flavor of these apparently corn filled waffles, the manager actually argued with me instead of just accepting the fact that I didn’t like them. Then proceeded to come back to our table 3 different times interrupting us about me not liking the food. While I appreciate the waiter trying to help out, this manager would not leave us alone. He did take some of the meal off the bill, but charged me $5.06 for two slices of bacon.
I will not be returning.
We weren't seated until 40 minutes after our reservation. Our food took an hour to arrive and our waiter was not attentive at all
We can't review the food from the Early Bird Restaurant because we were never served. Our reservation was for 11:45. It took almost a half hour to be seated. We gave them the benefit of the doubt on that one based on it being Sunday Brunch. Then it took another half hour to be served the correct beverages. (It was obvious my smoothie had been sitting at the bar for some time as it was very melted. And they served the wrong soda. The bloody Mary was tasty.) We sat there as the table behind
us received their food. They were seated right after us. At 1:00 the Manager said he would check on our food order. We thanked him. The table behind us, seated right after us, had finished eating and left. A new group was seated at that table at 1:00. At 1:30, that table received their meal. And we still had not been served. Again, we spoke to the Manager. After much blaming of everything from COVID to the computer system, and some defensive rudeness from our server, the Manager admitted that our order had not been prepared. He admitted our food was not ready. So, after 1 hour and 45 minutes of sitting politely and waiting patiently, we left, for good. So disappointing! I was looking forward to trying their gluten free chicken and waffles. I guess I'll never know.
Too crowded in the main room. Waited for food too long. Coffee did not taste good. Covid-19 9% surcharge in addition??? Food was decent
I really enjoyed this. Their offerings are new and unusual (not in a weird way) and it was nice to try something new. I had the benedict that has bbq pork on a biscuit with creamed spinach and hollandaise with poached eggs. Sounds unusual but it really worked. I will absolutely order it again. It is a nice breakfast option in the DTC.
