Earls Kitchen + Bar - King Street Ratings and Reviews
I was extremely disappointed. Having visited 6-7 other Earls across Canada, I was surprised. The server was pleasant to begin the evening, but quickly lost us and rarely came back.
1. My father in law ordered mushrooms with his steak. We asked 3 times about them. He was done eating his steak by the time they finally arrived.
2. My medium rare steak was medium to medium-well.
3. Due to the over-cooked steak, I asked for Steak Sauce. The server said, yes, right away. I waited for 5 minutes...asked again..he said a couple more minutes. I waited another five and he brought our Peppercorn sauce. I am not sure how EARLS staff could be so clueless or confused.
I corrected him, he went to the Bar and asked them..and they helped him finally bring me HP sauce. ..cold over cooked steak.
I rarely complete this but I use to love Earls and respected the franchise. Please take these comments to heart.
Excellent service, ambience and great food. We had a reservation but arrived 30 minutes early and they were able to seat us right away. Our server was sooo friendly and knowledgeable and the food came out fast. I particularly LOVE the Caesar Salad. Tastes almost as good as my own!! Always a good time.
When visiting Toronto from out of town we always go to Earls. It is in a great location for the Theatres and shopping downtown. We were going to the theatre so wanted an early dining time. The staff are always very friendly, knowledgable and very efficient. As always even at an earlier time it was lively and just what you need to start off a great evening.Great selection of food on offer for anyones taste.
I would encourage anyone to try Earls if they have not been before. I would also encourage you to book if possible so as to not be disappointed and not get in.
The service was excellent, the food was great and we will be back with family and friends.
Having traveled internationally, the quality of food and service of this restaurant is of a high standard even though the noise level was higher than expected for a business meal.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Earl's before going to Roy Thomson Hall. The salmon was amazing, the spare ribs were "fall off the bone" and the linguini was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and accommodating. We were certainly glad we had made a reservation as it was a busy place!
First time at Earls glad we made a reservation it was very crowded. We had the fundido dip with chorizo it was delicious. We then had the salmon and the Kung Pao chicken both very good. They have a great drink menu as well. Our server couldn't have been more efficient considering how busy it was she was always very attentive. Would definitely go back!
Lighting very dim that you can hardly see the contents of the menu. Vegetable bland taste. The jerk chicken i ordered is too spicy and does not taste right(fusion i guess). For the price of the food vs. Quality, pretty disappointing. That is too bad since we only had an average expectation of the venue and yet still came up short.
This place is only good for cocktail and appetizers.
Great downtown location, atmosphere and menu for business lunch, dinner or drinks. Love the patio. Tried the new swordfish tacos. Though tasty, could be improved with a slightly larger portion of protein, better dressed, better prepared to produce a tender bite. My guest had the old standby cajun chicken declaring it to be excellent. Service was also excellent, well-timed and pleasant. The patio is attractively laid out with a variety of seating options. Overhead toasters work well to overcome a slight chill. Would like to try after hours with family dining.
This is a good place for a business lunch, with a wide selection of menu items. My warm kale salad was delicious. However, I would have expected the waitress to be friendlier than just taking the order, refilling the water and never asking if we enjoyed the food or if we needed anything during the meal. We basically lost her after another person brought us our lunch until when she brought the bill to our table.
The resturant is beautiful the food was amazing and the front staff was very friendly. Our server were very nice and knowledgable however she took a bit long at times to return to the table, other than that her service was great. The only thing that was very disappointing to us was that Earls does nothing for Birthdays. Also the part I dont understand is when making the reservation why do you all have the option to select birthday or a specialy occasion when you dont offer anything for it? Almost all other resturants gives a dessert with a canadle or something for choosing their resturant to celebrate ones birthday or special occasion but this resturant gives nothing. Thats was very disappointing. Other than that the experience was very good.
