On the patio just before things were shut down again. The heaters helped. Food was good and it was a lot quieter outside than it ever is inside which wad great.
Overall everything is great, especially the waitress is awesome friendly and polite. We had a great time.
Patio, food and service was great.
It was the best set-up could ask for to comply with the COVID restrictions. The food was delivered to the table HOT, rarely has this occurred anywhere previously. Very enjoyable time.
Excellent outdoor setting...servers were on time and the food was good.
Due to the Covid restrictions the only dining options are outside. They have a lovely patio and it was so nice to sit in the evening sunshine and enjoy a meal.
Great service! Brett was an awesome server. Only thing was the heaters weren't working but they had a good patio set up and great atmosphere!
Was very disappointed as we were there to celebrate a 60 th bd and were told after 2 hours we had to leave It ruined our whole evening and prevented us from having dinner. We should have been told at time of booking as we would have gone somewhere else As a frequent customer of Dalhousie Earls it was very disappointing and embarrassing as I suggested going there
Horrible experience will not be going back
Great patio setting! great service, food always as expected
Due to poor weather the reservation was cancelled and no one bothered to let us know.
The only reason this isn't a one star review across the board is that the lady on the phone (who we talked to after arriving there) was very nice.
Great menu choices. Great service. Super cozy patio
Amazing food and service!!
Website did not mention that brunch items (ie. eggs benedict) were not available. I understand it's Covid related but you could have spared us the trouble by just noting that fact and saving us the trip. Also, once seated outside on the patio, another table was seated near us with no barrier in between and which seemed to be closer than 6' apart while other tables were available. Not a great overall experience to be sure.
It was a windy afternoon and we were cold. Heaters didn’t help that much. We had to finish the lunch quickly.
Excellent food and drinks. Great service. It was a bit loud but hey, people are out having fun.
As always, we were made to feel welcome. Food and service good as always.
All good - a little noisy on bar side but that’s to be expected! Service was excellent
Earls has consistent, good-quality food. Their appys are excellent and the service is generally good. After having eaten at the Keg recently, I'd have to say that the Keg serves a better steak. If you crave steak, go to the Keg. If you want fusion-type food or seafood, Earls is excellent. The atmosphere is more open at Earls and if like to hear that "buzz" of fellow diners, it's great. If you like it a little quieter and are having a dinner that's more intimate, or personal, I'd give the nod to the Keg also. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately, the food was not cooked as requested and the service was very poor
While I understand that CoVid-19 requires some adjustment to menu pricing; however, Earl's have been a middle-top tier restaurant and establishment/chain.
I (along with many other patrons) feels that the pricing is moving into upper-middle class. Like Moxies, Joeys, Earl's, and Cactus Club, it will either benefit your establishment or cost you clientele - like Moxie closing multiple venues (Market mall in Calgary).
Just think I like the ambience, food, and service and within my price range... it's somewhat out-of-reach to others... BECAREFUL of moving up the ladder and losing your current bread and butter clientele (like your Downtown Earl's on Stephan Ave, Calgary ~ not as busy as it once was, lesson learned after your trial of mandatory tipping policy)!
We were seated by the patio door and a cold wind was blowing in, I ordered GF salad. It came and was not GF and I had to send it back. NO compensation given. Service was beyond slow. Waiter didn’t come back to see how we were for over 40 minutes. We had to flag down another server. Water container & glasses were FILTHY! As a celiac I expect better awareness and attention to detail. Will not be coming back anytime soon.
Still great food but expensive and small potions. Great service.
Service was absolutely the worst I’ve had in a long time. It took a long time to even order our first drinks, then she never came around, we ended up ordering 2-3 drinks at a time just so they weren’t empty. Our table was completely filled with empty plates and cups and even when we moved everything to the end of the table to make it clear we wanted the table cleared she’d come by and take nothing. Another server ended up bringing a tray and clearing a few things but stuff was left there for over an hour. She then disappeared and didn’t see her for probably half an hour. We planned to spend more time there and have a few drinks but all our cups were empty and she was no where. We ended up asking someone for her to come by and getting our bills and leaving.
Expected ‘one family home gatherings’, not the case! We don’t hold Earls responsible but ??? I guess we go back to staying home!
Food could be tasty, but the lobster and shrimp ravioli was very salty, it actually detracted from the taste! Fresh ground pepper would be better.
We always have a great meal and fun time at this Earls!
It was a very very busy Friday but our waitress was constantly checking in on us and bringing our food/drinks in an extremely timely manner. She was so kind and attentive considering my friends can be annoying and confusing when ordering haha. It was busy but the staff handled everything with grace and patience. Such a great night and can’t believe how well everything was handled.
We were sat at 4:40 and immediately appoint a server who told us she was doing last call for happy hour. We asked if we Collin at the menu first so she went away and came back shortly after saying we had to order now or miss out on happy hour.
Our understanding is it goes till 5? We ended up ordering off regular menu which was delicious and although we ordered before 5 we did not get happy hour prices.
Great food and service
Good as usual. Upset they changed the artisan bread..no more oil to dip it in, they drizzled it on top- not very good this way
Nice, clean good atmosphere. Could have a few more items to choose from but everything that was ordered was great.
Always a good meal at Earls.
The dining was fine. The meal was not quite as good as last time but certainly well done.
Excellent service. Food was delicious and we were impressed by the value as we didn’t realize we had come at happy hour (2:00)
Error on bill was not noticed until we arrived home, if we return I will make sure to check more closely before paying. Earls is doing a reasonable job considering current guidelines
Usual good service. Always worth a visit.
The menu has wonderful variety; everyone loved their choice. Service is superb! Highly recommend!
Went there for happy hours, the prices are great and the food always tastes amazing. Drinks are always good too.
This was our first visit to a restaurant in 6 months. We were pleased with the safety protocols they have put in place, touchless menus and payment if you are interested. The food was very good and service was good.
Food came very fast, waiters were amazing and the food was delicious.
