My experience was just OK due to my food choices. I went for Savor Sarasota and had the prix fixe 4 course menu. 1st course was delicious; Smoked Salmon Spread! 2nd course Tuna Poke ; nice chunks of ahi tuna, but very bland. 3rd course Mahi Picante; fish was overcooked and favorless, very disappointing. (Restaurant was packed so did not send fish back). At least the dessert was delectable; Key Lime Pie! If I go back, it would probably be for drinks and appetizers at the bar. Ok and maybe a slice of PIE!

We live close by Duval’s and go there quite often. The staff is fantastic and the food is amazing. We went to the first day of Savor Sarasota for one specific reason. It was for the chicken Marsala. It was special. Please don’t take it off the menu. I would recommend Duval’s to everyone.

We had an excellent dinner with awesome service from Jesse. We had great cocktails & wine, we each had the crab cake appetizer and our entrees were the scallops and the seared tuna. No room for dessert. Highly recommended!

We received a gift certificate to Duval's so were happy to try a new restaurant that we had never been to. The food was good, nothing to get too excited about but we did enjoy our meals. Our service was friendly, attentive and quick (we had a 5:30 reservation so the restaurant was not busy). The restaurant is small. The larger tables for parties of 3 or more run along one side and are arranged in what I call NYC-style seating (you are sitting in a row right next to the adjacent tables) except for the very small tables along the other side where we were seated, but it was adequate. There is no ambience and the whole place looked a bit time-worn. Fine for a simple dinner but not for a special occasion.

The food and waiter were good but the seating was terrible. They sat us at a table right next to the parking with nothing in between. We had headlights in our face when a car would leave and another pull up. One of the drivers actually apologized for the lights.

Savor Sarasota menu was excellent!! Great value for the price. Had the mahi piccata which was delicious, very moist, generous portion. The vegetable vermicelli was crisp and tasty! Tuna poke appetizer was very tasty. Dessert was outstanding, the cherry bread pudding was fabulous, as was the key lime pie. Husband had the chicken Marsala and was very impressed, the sauce was delicious.

This is one of our favorite restaurants, and it is very pricey. The food is absolutely exceptional and the portions are medium. Wait staff is well trained and very attentive. The sea food selections are all absolutely incredible and we go to this restaurant on special occasions as it’s out of our normal dining price range.

Another visit to Duval's, this time an early dinner before a show. Started with the seafood bruschetta. Flavor bomb! It was outstanding. Hint to other diners: If you're sharing, go for the extra piece of baguette so that you don't have to split the third piece of the regular serving. We each had grouper for an entree, Mrs. JWLnGLL's grilled and substituting fingerling potatoes for rice, mine blackened with rice. Portions were very generous and the fish was cooked nicely with good flavor. The vegetable side of sauteed vegetables was rather bland. We split a piece of key lime pie with blueberries for dessert, and it was decent. Our server was terrific, attentive and fun. Another very enjoyable meal at Duval's.

The fresh catch was black grouper, and it was magnificent. Well prepared, very fresh and excellent. My favorite fish. A little pricy at $35, but well worth it. Served with a tasty rice and sauteed vegetables. Others had fish and chips, also excellent, three large battered pieces of cod, served with french fries. Caesar side salad very good, just the right amount of dressing. Duval's never disappoints.

Katie, our server was so welcoming and informative regarding he menu. The calamari was excellent, as always. The pan seared swordfish was moist and my friend's tuna was wonderful. Duval's always has some of the best seafood dishes in Sarasota.

We have been to Duval's many times since moving to Florida, and have never had a bad experience. We were celebrating a birthday, and told the waiter at the beginning of the meal. We started with martinis and an order of calamari. The drinks were very good as ususal. The calamari,though, was not up to par. Their recipe is a bit unusual, served with cucumbers, pineapple chunks and sliced peppers and their special sauce. The calamari was all stuck together and not as tender as in the past, though it was still pretty tasty. The shaved beef spring rolls with their knucklehead sauce never disappoints, and is a must-order preliminary. After two apps we decided to order one serving of grouper and their house salad as our entree. The waiter had both the salad and grouper divided into two separate plates, which is a great touch. We ordered a third martini to share, which he also served in two glasses, both of which was nearly a full pour! After clearing the dinner plates he announced that she could pick a dessert of her choice on the house for her birthday, a nice touch. We decided on the flourlees chocolate lava cake, which was to die for. Our waiter provided us with the best service we have experienced in a long time. I am just sorry I didn't get his name, because he was the best.

Had the bouillabaisse, best I have ever had! Sat at the bar and a top shelf pinotour. For appetizers we had the calamari, which was a little too heavily breaded and the beef shank spring roll which was amazing. Our bartender/waiter was very attentive and on it! Love this place!

While Duvall's food quality was delicious and right on par with prior visits, the timelines of receiving our drinks and meal took much longer that it ever has before. I believe there were only two waitpersons trying to manage the very busy lunch crowd. Our waiter has so much to do that we had to flag him down and even a passing manager to get a refill on our beverages and to check on our order. We even had a reservation for this lunch gathering so they didn't have to try to work us in, as they were expecting us. Usually the service there is very attentive and timely so I hope that this was a one off. I have enjoyed this wonderful place many times over the years. And I want them to succeed. P.S. When they offer me an alternative side dish due to a food restriction it would have been really nice if they give me a heads-up on the surcharge or make a note on the menu that there are no substitutions with out a charge. Just be transparent. Thanks!

Brought out of town guests to our fav restaurant and started off with a broken table. Then the salmon was raw in the middle scallops under cooked one of the grouper dinners was over cooked. But they fixed the salmon and gave us dessert. Just expected better.

They have an excellent reputation and work hard to attain their spot in the Sarasota dining arena, but the tightness of their space does not comport with the menu and the entree prices; seems odd. The service is excellent and friendly; just wish they'd double the space. For me, I think their lunch offerings and outdoor dining are hard to beat. For dinner, need the ambiance.

Took some out-of-town guests to Duval's. Being the first time I'd been there, I was hopeful it would be good. It exceeded all our expectations. The Ocean Scampi was excellent, as was the halibut and two grouper dishes. We opted for the key lime pie dessert, and that was the best key lime pie I've ever had. Service was top notch.

Calamari app was not your usual calamari app. This one is so yummy and you get a ton of calamari. We had the Salmon entree and the Grouper entree that was a special for the evening. I will be back again for the Salmon. My father ordered the Salmon on a previous visit and said it was the best! I was cooked perfect with lots of flavor. Staff always friendly. Recommend reservation which we did. Next time in Lobster mac and cheese!

Took out-of-town family guests to Duval's for lunch and as a newbie here, was my first time too. Definitely lives up to its rep as a top-notch seafood restaurant--so many folks have recommended it to me! Can vouch for the excellence of the Twisted Tuna Sandwich and the Signature Salad. Plus, the service was exemplary. We chose to eat indoors and it was quiet and pleasant. Highly recommend!
