Duke's Seafood - Tacoma
My wild salmon, the "Marry Me with Hop Scotch Butterscotch" was delicious. The service was impeccable, the margarita was yummy. Definitely will go back. It was a very busy Valentine Day lunch and yet the service was prompt and attentive. Good job Duke's!
The music was not pleasant that they had playing, mostly loud bass and unintelligible. Overall the atmosphere was too loud. I don't mind some noise and understand that but when it is so loud that you cannot converse easily at your table that is too loud.
My wife and I celebrated my birthday with another couple on Sunday afternoon. Our server Alex was outstanding as he guided us through menu selections and anticipated our every need. The clam chowder was amazing as always and then all of us feasted on cod and Copper River salmon. We topped off a perfect experience with delightful desserts. Highly recommended.
From the moment we entered the host was very welcoming he gave us a perfect table by the window the service was speedy and very pleasant and the food was really good the salmon I had was copper river salmon and it was the best I’ve ever had! The potatoes and zucchini were perfectly done. It was a little pricey so will save it for special occasions.
We were celebrating our daughter’s concert choir win! We had the most fabulous server, the best we’ve had at Dukes-Alicia B!
The food was delicious, as usual.
I absolutely love the food and they accommodate people with Celiac Disease. I haven't had clam chowder in over a decade and loved it. Highly recommend...
Excellent food. Excellent staff/service. Somewhat slow food service.
Excellent food in a great location. We all had something different, and two of the three of us need gluten free choices. I think Dukes has the most array of GF options. Our server was great, too. So sorry I didn't make a note of her name.
I have never been disappointed at Dukes and am already planning another trip for the best seafood in the area.
Amazing food, great service and a beautiful location! Couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner!
Great evening. Wait staff was excellent and food was awesome.
Some of the best chowder in the world and bread...world class service....
My spouse and I had a birthday lunch and ordered cod and chips plus a Dungeness Crab salad. Both luncheon entrees were prepared to perfection. Service was attentive and a nice table with waterfront view on a stormy day. Early lunch so the restaurant was quiet and could have good conversation and leisurely lunch. Really like that the fish was prepared with a light coating and not over cooked. Thank you.
We are a family of international teachers. Duke's is our restaurant of choice when getting ready to say "goodbye" until the next trip!
I love coming to Duke’s! It’s my favorite place to celebrate special occasions. The service was exceptional and the food so delicious and fresh!
Fabulous service… Best clam chowder in the world… Incredible atmosphere
Another excellent dining experience at Dukes. This was a client dinner with spouses and everything was wonderful. Absolutely First Class Service by Wade, as always.
The restaurant does a great job overall...excellent service, stellar staff and great food.
A couple of dishes came out cold. Staff was fantastic, replaced dishes. Wade our waiter was wonderful.
The service was awesome! The host who sat me was engaged and polite. Our waitress was very attentive, without being intrusive. My frustration is in the price. I had the burger special, which was excellent and a nice size but it was $18.95! With tax and tip my meal was $25! I feel like that is a lot for a lunch! My companion had the small seafood salad with a cocktail and her lunch was over $40! Definitely wouldn’t make this a regular stop! Which is unfortunate because of food and you and staff are great.
We've always had exceptional meals at Dukes, And I just wrote a glowing review about our last visit. But today, things were just a little off. The salad that usually wows us was mediocre. It didn't have the usual complement of blue cheese, the greens were tough, and it seemed other ingredients were also missing. My fish & chips, the fish wasn't even warm inside. I don't know if it sat waiting to be brought or wasn't cooked long enough? It was cooked thoroughly, just not hot. My wife said her chowder was also not up to usual standards. Nothing was bad enough to keep us away, we'll be back for sure. But I believe in honest reviews
Great overall experience, consistency is a given at Dukes & their great bread,😊
Love this place! The staff is excellent -- especially Wade and Chelsea! What a pleasant experience they made for us. The food is fantastic, and consistently so. Seafood is excellent and always cooked correctly and served beautifully. The views of the Sound are great, too. Now, my only gripe is that the price of the meals keeps going up, almost too quickly. It seems with each seasonal change, the price of everything increases by $3.00 and goes up from there. I eat here at least 3 times a year and have enjoyed the visit more each time, but I fear the prices are going to exclude a lot of folks from affording to eat at Duke's.
Food and service good. Little difficult to hold a conversation but overall it was a pleasant evening out with the family.
A lot seemed to have changed from only a year or so ago. Dining here used to be special with service and quality beyond what you could ever expect. Tonight’s experience was to be our 35th wedding anniversary celebration. Although we had mentioned this when the reservation was made the staff made no mention of this as they have in the past. The staff were polite, but we felt rushed having not yet finished our appetizer before the main course was served. Finally, the food was average, the fish underdone, and portion size not worth the price paid. Duke’s used to be our go to place for value, quality, and a place to celebrate special occasions. A year ago I would have rated this restaurant second to none. Unfortunately I can no longer do so.
We moved here from Michigan 2 years ago and good food was slim pickens, Dukes is thus far one of our favorites! We have been to one of the local Dukes restaurants several times now.
From start to finish, this is what a wonderful dining experience should be like in both my wife and my opinions.
Even though it was very busy, all the staff we saw were very friendly and inviting; it made us feel welcome and right at home! It was great to see Jeff (asst manager) helping the staff and attending to patrons with a genuine smile. Our waitress, Clorisa, was a delight to have tableside and was a major reason we enjoyed this experience so much!
The food (crab deviled eggs, halibut quesadillas, best clam chowder with the best sourdough, ribs with seafood grill, guava sorbet, and the pier pie) was fresh, well prepared and absolutely delicious! Each course was perfect and left a memorable impression that makes us look forward to our next visit.
I was a first timer to Dukes and didn't really know what to expect. I have to say, checking in on a Friday and being seated within seconds was Amazing! i WAS GREATED BY MY WAITRESS VERY QUICKLY AND WITH A SMILE! My date arrived and we were in the midst of chatting when the waitress came back. She was so polite and asked, "When you are ready just let me know...I'll come back as to not interrupt your conversations"....This was AWESOME! When ready, we ordered. This is where it got really good! My date asked for a recommendation on the appetizer and entre. We received great suggestions from our waitress and ordered right away.
The entire meal was fantastic! Delicious, great temp and served as ordered (some requests for changes in meal prep). We actually were seated at 8 pm and closed the place down. It was such a wonderful experience! I took photos and placed these on "other" sites as well. I received feedback and compliments from other followers, we all agreed "Dukes, for the WIN".
I can't wait to return and try another one of the signature meals!
It was a little chilly, as we were seated next to the window.
Consistently great chowder... ribs were fantastic! Great service!
Gluten free excellent food
They pride themselves on having the best halibut and chips which was very good only to find they have pulled it off the menu and replaced it with salmon. Good halibut is hard to come by, less desirable salmon can be found at any fish house. Guess I will have to go to WIldfin for my halibut and chips.
If there was a "sound" (i.e. water) in my community of Maple Valley or Covington, I'd dine at Duke's MUCH more frequently. Yes, I can go to Kent Commons. Foods always good, but I love it by the water.
The portion/taste of food is not worth the price. The only thing worth the money is the view
The food was tasty, but quite expensive, especially for lunch. We started with the excellent Bloody Mary. Then tried their version of roasted Brussels sprouts, which was outstanding, especially with the little crispy onion slices. We both had the New England style clam chowder, which was delicious, tho a little salty for my taste. My companion had the salmon with pasta Alfredo, which she enjoyed. I had a fish taco, who was well spiced and quite large, served on a thin toasted wheat tortilla. The booths are comfortable, and sitting by the windows gives a great view of Commencement Bay. All in all, Duke's is a very enjoyable place to dine.
we love going to dukes. this time as well as the past, we had the macadamia crusted halibut. it is absolutely the best halibut I have had. the waitress was really friendly, food was served in a proper amount of time and the scenery was just great. the only small complaint I have is in the big room it gets real noisy, its hard if not impossible to have a conversation with anyone sitting across the table from you. but that's ok, I will from now on make sure I reserve a table not in that room
This was our first visit to Duke’s. We were looking for a seafood restaurant to take a friend to lunch for the holidays and we thought we would try Duke’s. The food, atmosphere, and service were terrific. We ordered a variety of items and truly everything was great. I wouldn’t hesitate to plan a specific event or just an evening out at Duke’s.
