Awful worse dining experience ever. Food was good DF is one of my favorite restaurants but I will not return to this location.
My wife took me out for my birthday and the waiter brought us a free fried ice cream! It was a great meal, ambience, and customer service!
I have eaten at this restaurant many times. The sushi is very good and I recommend the location!
The atmosphere was very nice and quite. My friend and I were seated right away and taken care of. Our server was very sweet and helpful.
Our sushi was incredible! Thank you to the chef! I will definitely be back!
Bad service, only 2 out of the 5 items we ordered were correct
Although there were a lot of open tables and we had a confirmed reservation, we were sat in the bar area while the bartender was slammed with customers. He did his best but was clearly overwhelmed. Took 15 minutes before he was able to get to us just to get water. It was also loud since we were in the bar area with a large group of parties. It was fine, just a curious choice by the host staff.
The wine menu was average at best. The $42 bottle of Cabernet was average at best
Bonsai soup was wonderful!
We went to Drunken fish (not our first time) this year for Christmas Eve. Our waiter was very attentive. The food was very good. My husband was especially happy with the soup he chose, so much he ordered a second bowl--(Bonsai soup). I would also like to mention Drunken Fish occupies a very good corner of the CWE, as we will normally sit at their outside tables on the sidewalk. Being December 24, that was not possible in St. Louis.
Awesome like always.
I've ate here a few times and its always been good. I think it's a little overpriced. I've had better sushi for less.
The service at the Central West End location was supreme. Blake our waiter was friendly, informative, and provided the correct amount of service without going overboard. We were not disappointed at all with the flavor of the food.
The food was absolutely fantastic. We had 3 different rolls and each was distinctly unique. The dessert was wonderful too. The only issues were the service and the music blasting out of the kitchen that sounded like it coming from a phone or small speaker. We asked if the music could be turned off as it could be heard through half of the dining area... the music was turned up. We then moved the other side of the dining area and had a much more pleasant environment. The server was indifferent to our request which was disappointing. Its unfortunate that the care to the food is not applied to the dining experience of the patrons.
Excellent food. Great service. Prompt seating.
Received an email about Black Friday 20% off total bill, and indulged in a cocktail, appetizer, and entree. All very good.
Very nice service and great food.
Sushi is fresh and mostly standard fare. Edemame was slightly off in flavor, with a hint of the local water mingled with the usual freshness; plus it was pale, like it had been reheated. Our sushi came out faster than you can roll a tire down a short ally, which suggests it was waiting in the fridge for us. Fried rice was highly recommended by waitress, but it was also average at best, a bit on the oily side and light on the extras (egg, veggies, meats). All of this must be balanced against the reasonable price which is why I would go back at some point, but probably after trying alot of other sushi joints first.
Delicious food, good service
Sashimi supreme was great with nice presentation
Our specialty rolls were creative and tasty
Our server was very good
Great experience, would recommend
Went for a going away party. The food and drinks were amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Manager personally checked on the tables to make sure the event was going how we're wanted.
Had a lovely date with my wife that felt romantic.
We had two young Nieces visiting and they loved it. It is pretty noisy, but we requested a table fairly separate from the others and it worked out well. The waiter was very busy but he did okay. We were seated by a window so we could enjoy some people watching in the CWE. Best of all the food was delicious.
Our Sushi was ok. The place was relatively quiet with very few diners on a Sat night at 830 pm. I was surprised that it was so dead on a Sat night. The waiter was friendly but he never checked on us to refill our waters, or to see if we wanted more to drink. We were finished eating and we waited longer than I thought to get a check. I had to track down the waiter to get a check then it took almost 10 mins for him to loop back to give us a check then a few mins to pay. I don't like feeling like I have to beg them to let me pay for a meal. the waiter told us he had 8 other tables to wait on but there should be a manager to deal with paying if the waiter is busy. I probably won't be back soon. The sushi was fine but not outstanding. The price point was ok but not great for the service.
We were very disappointed with the service and found the management to be very unhelpful.
We will not be returning to that location.
Great sushi. Frequent traveler. Eat sushi most everywhere I go. Creative sushi and great taste. Atmosphere is more casual.... I’d go again for sure!
We eat here a lot. Great sushi. The ONLY two things that were not outstanding was the screaming baby/toddler behind us (seriously parents, bringing a baby to sushi place? Does that even sound like a good idea?) and the ginger salad dressing was not so much a dressing but a topping. It had the consistency of grated cheese. Shouldn't it be more of a liquid? Great things...no wait, the waiter was awesome, didn't wait long for the food. We'll be back.
It was a nice outing with my boyfriend
YUM. Very good food
The food was amazing and the ambience was wonderful. The only downfall was a group of girls sitting at the table behind us. They were obnoxiously loud. I could not hear my boyfriend speaking to me from across the table. This is no fault of the restaurant's at all. However, it would have been nice if they could have been told to lower their voices as the setting did not call for such obnoxious behavior.
The lobster roll app was great! The sushi rolls were delicious and so were the cocktails! The best part of the night was Corey. He made the meal a real experience and we were blessed to have him serve us tonight!!
My Mom and I went for dinner before going to the Muny. It was not busy when we arrived our server was very nice and helpful. Our food came out quickly, and it was gone almost as fast! It was all very good. Great experience
Daughters Birthday Celebration
Great food - very slow service. Might have been because we got there at the beginning of happy hour, but it took a long time to get our orders. I would have ordered more to take home, but I figured it would take a long time and I didn't have more time to wait.
Too many transient people outside asking for money, meals, drugs and sex! Atrocious. The CWE must clean that up!
Super salad at lunch time. Sushi looked great
WE HAD QUILL AS OUR WAITRESS AND SHE WAS EXCELLANT. FOOD WAS PERFECT HAD A GREAT TIME WITH FAMILY.
Quickly sat. Many choices. Meal was good. A little noisy where we sat.
My family and I were so excited to go there for mother's day. We love the food but they did not have the Asian chicken wings or any type of chicken for the rice or any other dish. We were so disappointed but everything else was fine.
This was not my first time there, however on this occasion it took a long time to get our food. I don't know what was going on. Also the bathroom situation should be addressed there is one bathroom and even though it is clean. It really is an inconvenience to have people forming a line to get to the bathroom kind of cheapens the dining experience.
Not my favorite visit to Drunken Fish. We were seated and not brought any water for the table. Further, we had to request a drink menu as one was not brought to the table. It took a while for the waiter to return, so I could let him know pages were missing from the drink menu and requested a new one. In the meantime, we asked to go ahead and order an appetizer. The request of course was agreed to. We were finally able to place the order for both the appetizer & drinks. When the appetizer came we requested soy sauce from the server, we were brought the little dishes you put soy sauce in (which were hastily dropped off) but no soy sauce accompanied the dishes. After a while I managed to sight some at an empty table across the way. I wish I could say things got better (especially since we brought our friends from Australia here for an enjoyable afternoon out), but they didn’t. It was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at Drunken Fish.
Drinks and sushi were good. The chicken donburi was not prepared well. Tough chicken and over cooked egg. Disappointing for the price.
I don't know what has taken me so long to check out Drunken Fish, but I decided to go there for my birthday. Suffice it say, I have a new Sushi place! The food was fresh, delicious and beautiful. The outside seating corner on Maryland and Euclid was perfect on a gorgeous Saturday Afternoon. The waiter couldn't have been nicer or more attentive and the manager came by to see how we liked our meal as well and was equally nice. Like all Sushi, it is not cheap, but I plan to make lunch a regular stop with their great lunch specials.
