For over three decades, The Drover has been the place to go in Omaha, Nebraska for a good steak. The rustic, vintage decor and dim lighting adds to the traditional steakhouse ambiance. Reservations are encouraged at The Drover due to its popularity.The signature whiskey marinade, available on cuts, such as the filet and the ribeye, is what sets The Drover apart from other steakhouses in the area. Shrimp, chicken and seafood entrees are all also available should a guest prefer an alternative to red meat. Burgers, appetizers and soups are options for those looking for lighter fare. No visit is complete without a trip to the salad bar. Not only is it a healthy choice, it is also known as one of the first salad bars in Omaha.

It is underwhelming. For a seasoning they are known for, it was run of the mill. The salad bar and soup were simple. For the price, we were expecting more. We had a cocktail waitress, an order taker waitress, a bring your food to you waitress, and a closer waitress. Wild. My martini had a crack in the glass I noticed about half way through. They didn’t charge me, but still. After all the paperwork for the reservation set up, they didn’t even read it or they don’t celebrate. It was our 44th wedding anniversary. It’s good we are from out of town and don’t need to make a decision if we will return.

Everything we ordered was delicious, there were 4 of us! Steak, salmon, and shrimp, all divine!

We have been going to the Drover since 1970’s and we love it…food and staff are amazing!!! It’s my HAPPY PLACE!!! 😋❤️

It was a good thing I was wearing sandals, or else my socks would’ve been completely blown off. The gentleman working the grill cooked an absolutely perfect medium steak. His name was Terry and THAT man was on fire cooking perfect steak after perfect steak and rightfully deserves a raise after that experience!! Bravo Terry, bravo my man. I would go back and recommend ANY steak when that man is working the grill and I would probably wait and ask if he’s working to get something like that again cuz 🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🫡. We went for lunch and that was absolutely amazing. Thank you everyone, when I’m back in the area I’ll be back!!

As tourists, we wanted to find a place in Omaha where the locals go for a great steak. The Drovers was recommended to us and it did NOT disappoint. We enjoyed a late night dinner. The Whiskey Filets were cooked to perfection - so tender you could cut with a fork and the loaded baked potatoes were delicious, as were the sauteed mushrooms. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The family-owned and operated restaurant is a gem--off the beaten track, but well worth the trip a bit away from downtown. If we were to visit Omaha in the future, we would definately go back!
