    Our server was polite and somewhat knowledgeable. The cocktails were the highlight of the meal, on point flavor profiles and served timely. The steak was over priced and underwhelming. We ordered the herb butter to go with the steak as they were “running low on blue cheese” and could not sell it to us for use on a steak but we could order the salad if we wanted blue cheese for our steak. The butter came frozen….so putting it in the steak as ordered made the steak cold. The vegetable of the day was seasonal squash and was over cooked to the point of being flavorless. We won’t be returning.

    Drexler's Wood Fired Grill is a wonderful dining experience. Staff greats you as soon as you walk in, the service is outstanding, I never had to ask for anything, staff was very attentive. From appetizer to desert the food was prepared with perfection. I highly recommend Drexler's to anyone planning a special night out or to anyone who just wants a great meal with outstanding service with that small town feel.

    Very nice little quaint restaurant. The service was average and the food was nicely prepared although what should have been a 14oz Ribeye, was more like an 8 oz and it was too charred. Simply too small, my petite wife finished it and she never eats a full steak minus the charred pieces which I consumed. The couple next to us ordered the filet mignon and it was so small…half dolllar size. I was so disappointed for them! The size portions were very small with both entrees ordered. The brined chicken was so petite, you get larger sizes at Churches/Popeyes….the half chicken was like eating a Cornish hen. Again, the food was tasteful but they failed miserably on portion size. The blue crab hushpuppies tasted good but a little overcooked, too dark not golden brown.

    Drexler's has a great location and atmosphere, in a unique space serving quality ingredients. The menu is somewhat haphazard, but hits some high notes. Final product was generous, but lacked in the flavor department. Save your sauces and you'll have something tasty, although with a hefty price tag for the area.

    The food, service, and atmosphere are great. Just wish there was a little less smoke, but it's a wood fire restaurant, so it's expected. Visit, you won't be disappointed!

    First time at Drexler's. Menu was not what I expected, but still quite good. Several beef and fish selections (but not too many!). The items were pricey but you get a lot of food for what you pay for, and (at least for this night), every bottle of wine was half off :). The food was VERY tasty, and the staff was attentive. The restaurant layout is long and narrow, but still fairly spacious. It looked like there might also have been outdoor seating in the back, but we didn't check bc it was too hot (need that AC!). The bartender made a very good (and very large) Old Fashioned for me that was quite good. Several people came in just to sit at the bar and have a few drinks. It had a neat 'neighborhood' feel to it. Would definitely go back again.

    The portions weren’t bad at all, but more than anything the food was not very flavorful at all. We got the empanada starter, followed by me getting the “Land and Sea” (fried Mahi and a 4oz filet mignon) and my girlfriend got the grilled chicken. The fried Mahi was fried very well and was crispy, which was great. The empanadas seemed to have been left in the oil a little long and were VERY oily. These three items, plus a total of 3 drinks (each drink was $14) came to a total of $150, not including the tip. The prices seemed like an upper scale restaurant but the food and ambiance was not at that same level. In general, I felt the value of the meal was a lot less compared to similar restaurants in the area. Would’ve been fine for ~90-110 I think.

    What a find in Phoebus! I have been challenged to find fine dining in the Phoebus/Hampton area when I visit, but now the challenge has been met. We had a delightful meal with 1/2 price wine. Charred pork was great, juicy, tasty. Soft shell crabs were absolutely on target -- right size, cooked like they should be. We took a chance on the crab hush puppies and were absolutely delighted. I only wish we had room for dessert.

    I had the land and sea. Steak cooked perfect medium rare and my flounder was wonderful. Only comment is I wasn't offered vinegar for my fish and fries. Wish I could have finished it all.

    Amazing food! Great ambiance. So worth the drive across the bridge tunnel. Soft shells were large and cooked to perfection. May peas with asparagus were seasoned well. Love having seasonal, local food! Great addition to Phoebus!

    The food was excellent as usual. Our waiter was prompt and attentive. The ribeye I had was chared to perfection and was very flavorful. My wife had the oyster appetizer and it was plenty for a meal. The oysters were so large they had to be eaten in bites. Though pricy at $59 for the ribeye it was worth every cent.

    Simply outstanding steaks! Great little gem of a restaurant! Service was good, although staff not very assertive and somewhat unsure about the offerings … something easily fixed with some mentoring and experience. Overall, it’s a must try!

    This was our first visit….very pleased with our evening including the atmosphere, food and service. Everyone there was welcoming and friendly. The proximity to the American Theater was why we went but we will definitely return.

    Was excited to try this place as I'd heard so many great things. Very disappointed. Not at all worth the money. The char on the filet was unbearable and it had no flavor. The potatoes and zucchini had no flavor. I guess the bread and wine were the best part. For the price I would have expected an elevated level of service as well. Definitely not a repeat for me.

    Out first time and it was fantastic! Was our first choice due to the fact that they take reservations and it turned out to be the best choice we could have made! The bread and spring onion butter (house made) is off the hook and so were all of our dinner choices!

    The pork chop was mind-blowingly delicious! The drinks and ambiance were spectacular! They also had a thin mint cheesecake for dessert that I would come back for over and over again! I can’t recommend this place enough!

    $8 for a very skinny “loaf “ of bread was disappointing. However the butter spread of that day was delicious!!! However it was almost frozen so very difficult to spread. Should be soft!! Needed more sauce on the meats but nice crust on them

    I took my wife out on a spur of the moment the appetizer and cocktail I ordered were great. The entrées, however, were poor The burger and fries I ordered were awful. I couldn’t even take two bites of the burger literally. The fries were overcooked. My wife’s entrée was not any better. Her chicken was tasteless. And the beans and rice were tasteless. Great service great ambience. Just wish the entrées were better.

    I took my adult daughter out to dinner before a show at the American Theatre. The prices were at worst mid range for the high quality dining experience we enjoyed. My daughter had the rockfish special and I, the signature pork. Both were delicious. One drink order took a bit, because the bartender was back logged, but service was otherwise impeccable. Despite our sitting near other tables, we were able to converse without strain. The owner came by asking about our experience. The final bill was lower than I had projected. It was a great experience.

    There were 4 of us with a reservation. We were sat within 10 minutes of reservation time. We were served drinks in waiting area. Our waiter was excellent. Manager stopped in to make sure we were happy. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. The roasted almonds & bread service with flavored butter were excellent. We frequent all the restaurants in Phoebus and we will definitely be back for special occasion or date night dinner since this is a pricey menu but definitely high quality and done well. They have a new enclosed back patio that we will probably check out for happy hour as the weather warms. There was a grade school age child there but I didn't see a kids menu (there may have been a children's menu but I wasn't looking for it) and I really would not recommend this as a younger child friendly place but more of a grown up nice dinner out or business dinner type atmosphere. Not a big place and tables are all along one wall, pretty close to each other.

    Drexler’s was clean and cozy, with a nice atmosphere and vibe. My husband and I shared a few small plates and we had cocktails — everything we ate was enjoyable and the drinks were nice, too. Our server, Brady, was extremely pleasant and helpful. I’ve already recommended Drexler’s to friends. We will be back!
