   My friend and I were here for the first time to just chat/get up to speed as girlfriends do-it was too loud at times. The wine was okay and place really cute inside. However, the food was not what we were expecting (curly fries?) and very large/over-sized portions. It didn’t feel as elevated as the prices suggested. Our server did visit often, sometimes we felt a little rushed (like on a clock) and we were looking to experience the full menu, etc. Although she did offer to box up our enormous leftovers to take home but the server never brought it back. Left underwhelmed and unsatisfied with all the hype.

   Went here for my year anniversary, had the best experience. You have to get the 24layered strawberry cake. If you like tres leches you’ll love it. Spicy Cesar salad was also one of my favorites!

   This is my second time at Drakes and it was as exceptional as I remember. The food was delicious, I loved the live music, and our server Cassandra was so sweet! She recommended a steak to my very VERY picky friend…and she actually loved it. I was more than impressed and also very happy. It was her first time so I was a little nervous on how this visit would go. I got the Pasta Za Za and it was delicious. For drinks we all got the French 76 and they were perfect. I can’t wait to come back soon!

   The only “interesting” thing that happened was when my party arrived, (total 3) at 7:15 for the 7:30 reservation, we were told they were getting tables ready. No issues there. However at 7:37 when a party of 4 arrived for a 7:30 reservation, they were seated first. I thought it was odd and was slightly perturbed at the thought of why that happened. The server however was amazing. And the food was delicious.

   Our server was really knowledgeable and gave excellent recommendations. I tried the espresso martini for the first time and it was great! I’m not a coffee drinker so I was hesitant. She also recommended the vin scully fries, which were great. And my friend had the Hawaiian Steak, loaded mashed potatoes, and broccolini.

   Our experience was jaded by what seemed to be a social media influencer who had a tripod and light set up recording her entire experience. They first began seated at the bar, directly in front of our table and were recording from the second they sat down; I could see myself clear as day in her video. The light was obnoxious and bothersome as well. Management should have stepped in and said something about them disrupting others dinning experience, but they ignored it. Additionally, we came here for our anniversary and were sat in the bar area at a half table, despite having standard seating reservations. Overall after spending close to $300 total, I would’ve liked a better experience.

   The steakhouse had a nice ambience—calm and cozy, great for a dinner out. The service was attentive and our waitress knew the menu well, but she felt a little flat and low-energy, which made the experience feel less warm. We ordered the Hawaiian ribeye, and while the temperature was spot on, the outside was way too charred. It made the texture kind of crunchy and burnt, which really took away from enjoying the steak. My partner only took one bite. The flavor itself was good, just hard to get past the overly crisp exterior. Surprisingly, the fries ended up being my favorite part of the meal—they were crispy, seasoned well, and super satisfying. The lobster in the lobster mac was very fresh too, which was a nice touch. Overall, not a bad meal, but I wish the steak had been cooked with a little more balance.

    Thank you for making my 27th Anniversary special! Everything was perfect. Bonus was the Jazz musician, he definitely has talent.
