Got to the restaurant for dogs for sale at the smallest table to the point there was no room for the menus and plates. We asked to move. Yes they did move us now the four of us order appetizers two appetizers came 10 minutes later the other two between that time I never seen the waitress by the time the appetizers were all gone and we were going to a concert at 8 o'clock at the Fox. She came by at 7:30 and see if you like to order dinner we respond that we have to be at a concert in 30 minutes and we have been there since 630, so the truth of the matter is, I will probably never go back there

We had an open table reservation, showed up on time, and we’re led to a table that was literally partially behind the upstairs servers station. It was closer to a dirty linen bin than to other tables, and was not the only open 2 top in the restaurant. We requested another seat, and we’re led to a table directly behind the hostess station (despite there being a set and unoccupied 2 top in the upstairs area that did not have a view of dirty linens). We decided to walk out, so I have no opinion on the food, and luckily found another restaurant that was able to seat us on valentines night.

We stumbled upon Louie’s looking for a casual but nice place to eat our first evening in Detroit. It was the perfect choice. The steak tri-tips were dreamy and we soaked up every bit of sauce with our bread. It was a great start to our trip.

Went to Louie’s for a holiday dinner for 6. Quick reservation time, and overall good experience. I don’t think the food was as good as the prices which is the only reason I am giving 4 stars. When I pay $50 for lamb I expect it to be more than 3 tiny chops. Other than that it was a great atmosphere.

Food and service were outstanding; however, we won't eat there again because of their policy of automatically adding a 20% gratuity to the bill. Tips are the diners' way of rewarding the quality of service. If our service had been poor, we would not have wanted to leave a 20% tip, making it clear that we were not happy with the quality of service. If the owner wants to increase the servers' salary, then do so with increased prices, but don't try to hide that increase with a mandatory tip!

Atmosphere was great, service was not. Table not ready at time of reservation. Server did not come to check very often, glasses were empty, had to drink out of water bottle we brought. 6:15 reservations, to make an 8:00 pm show at DOH, we were half an hour late, think they may have had to butcher cow first. Calamari was salty. Steaks tips over done. Caesar salad bland. Should have just stuck to drinks an ate popcorn at the show. On a positive not other couple had filets and they were cooked great.

Very pretty restaurant, felt cozy and was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Portions were a bit on the small side especially for the price. I ordered the filet. It was seasoned well and tasted good but it was over cooked. My husband ordered the New York strip and had the same complaint. Overall it was a nice restaurant and I would go back.

We walked from the Fox theater to the restaurant. It was a short walk but wish we would have found a different restaurant. We had 4 ppl at our table. 2 kids and 2 adults. My daughter loves Filet but at $55 I said no. She ordered the Pomodora…fancy for spaghetti with marinara…she and her friend did not like it. I had the chicken on special. It was good but lacked flavor. I also had the poached pear salad. The pear was so hard and there was something breaded and fried in the salad and the waitress had no clue what it was. The other adult had whitefish. It had a ton of bones in it. She said it was fair. For myself and daughter we spent $120. We will not be coming back.

We loved the ambiance for our group dinner. We split the charcuterie board to start and it was more then enough for 4. Lamb chops, bolognese and burrata salad was ordered and we finished our meals with delight. Would definitely dine again!

The waitress never checked on us after she took our orders. 3 of our party of 5 wanted more drinks but we waited a very long time before we had a return visit to ask. 2 of our party had food delivered cold after we waited 45 minutes for it, and the food the rest of us had was only ok, certainly not worth the $29 we paid for it each. The french onion soup was tasteless. The house added a 20% gratuity that we reduced to 15% which was generous given the service we had. An $18 burger is the most popular item on the menu which doesn’t surprise me since the rest of the menu items are over-priced and based on our experience not worth the cost. The ambience was the best part but we won’t go back and don’t recommend.

The food was amazing, we all loved our meals. Beautiful location and ambiance. The service was good but not amazing. I think it’s maybe because there is a required 20% gratuity which I’ve never seen before coming to Detroit. I would come again, the chicken dish was amazing!

I was charged $42 for a glass of angels envy bourbon. The bottle at the store is only $48. And I’ve never paid more than $13 at a restaurant for a glass of angels envy bourbon. I did mention something to the waiter and he returned with an adjusted charge down to $25. I won’t be returning to downtown Louie‘s

We have been coming here for years. This place is the best steakhouse in Detroit. The servers are always amazing but Glenn is the absolute best. From the manager on down, this place is great and we will continue to spend date nights here.
