   Yesterday we arrived for Mother's Day and it did not disappoint. My wife and I have been here several times on date nights and special occasions, about 4 times in the last few months. It was the first time we brought along our daughters 17 and 14. Normally, my wife and I have had their steaks as they are wonderfully made and so do our girls usually at other restaurants. However, something strange happened last night. The couple last night sitting next to us both had the Apple Brie Burgers with frittes. It was at point we became the easiest table for our wonderful server Teresa who was both attentive and pleasant. Rarely do we all order the same but for appetizers we had three wedge salads (if you have not tried, trust me order one) one caesar (daughter does not like blue cheese). And for dinner, you guessed it, four burgers! Delicious. It is quite telling about a restaurant that elevates a burger to a meal where my wife and I were not disappointed not having one of their wonderful filet mignons. Our girls loved the burgers and enjoyed the evening with Mom and Dad. The atmosphere at Downtown is lively. Don't expect a quiet restaurant, there are families with children, friends and couples all sitting around laughing and having a great time, we love to hear it. And we will be back...soon.

   We had high expectations. They were met by our server. Unfortunately, the food was average and very overpriced. One and done.

   Our waitress was inexperienced and not very knowledgeable about the menu offerings. She got our order wrong. The food was very good, as usual.

   I apologize our server was not more on top of your gluten free items for you and you did not get the experience you were hoping for. I personally delivered your food, addressed the battered fries considering a gluten free bun, and rectified the issue before having your meal. I apologize that with this your service was still a 2 star experience. I have put it into your notes to be hyper attentive for any future server you may have.    The absolute best gem in the city. Our favorite place in Winston. You can count on the freshest best tasting food source from local farms. Absolutely amazing Birthday celebration for 8 last night… thank you so much!

   What a truly delightful experience. Our server, Nicky, guided us through an absolutely incredible culinary adventure. All of the dishes were thoughtful and some of the best I’ve had in Winston in the 20 years I’ve lived here. We will return. Cheers.

    Food and service were good. The acoustics of the restaurant makes it extremely noisy. I could not hear or talk to my wife without her or I having to raise our voices above a normal level. Restaurant was a bit pricey for a feeling of like you are eating out on your back patio.
