Down South CaJJun Eats was founded by twin brothers Jahmaal and Jermaine Dumes in the Spring of 2017. While Studying at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX they decided to take a leap of faith. Originally from Beaumont, TX, they felt a tremendous part of their lives was missing in Austin. And that was Crawfish!!

Coming from a family of cooks, they’ve always dreamed of starting a restaurant in their home state. With the help and support of family and friends, they were able to make this dream come alive.

We take pride in our authentic style of cooking and strive to give you the full Down South CaJJun experience with great food, great people, and a great time! Bringing the great taste of Southeast Texas/Louisiana to Austin!

Came here for a watch party. That started at 8pm. made reservations for 7:30, arrived and was seated. They turned the show on about 30 to 45 minutes after the time was supposed to start, just for the audio to not match up with the tv. I asked if we could get moved to a different table and was told it was not possible. Then a little over halfway through the episode, they started playing music and stopped playing the audio to the show. We continued to watch the show however and I was approached by multiple employees informing me that by 11 we needed to leave and I informed them we were there for an event that they were hosting and the show was not yet over. Absolutely a terrible experience altogether with high prices. Our server was okay but the service overall just was not exceeding or meeting any expectations whatsoever! Do not host a watch party if you cannot even catch your audio up with your tv’s, as well as, turn off the audio altogether? what kind of watch party is that? Especially for a finale for a show.

Was staying in Austin for my bachelorette over the weekend! I searched high and low for a hip hop/ r&b brunch, and this place did not disappoint! Staff was welcoming and our server Jeremy was great also! Lots of photo ops, bomb DJ and the food yall was amazing!!!! The bathrooms could have been cleaner/updated but that is my only complaint. Will definitely be going back!

Overall the place had a good vibe. The waitresses are super friendly and knowledgeable of their jobs...I loved the old school music, Cocktails and the food was delicious.....I give them a 10/10 ..........The club vibes are from 10pm to 2AM.... we didn't stay that long but I've heard it's really nice after hours

The food is amazing, service was professional. I would buy food to go next time because I’m a bit dated for scene. Again the food is AMAZING! FYI- There is a 15% gratuity automatically added when dining in, which I was happy to pay.

If you are searching for a brunch spot…restaurant with excellent food, great service, young adult-vibe, this is the spot. The DJ on Sundays plays a good variety of music too.
