Down South CaJJun Eats was founded by twin brothers Jahmaal and Jermaine Dumes in the Spring of 2017. While Studying at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX they decided to take a leap of faith. Originally from Beaumont, TX, they felt a tremendous part of their lives was missing in Austin. And that was Crawfish!!

Coming from a family of cooks, they’ve always dreamed of starting a restaurant in their home state. With the help and support of family and friends, they were able to make this dream come alive.

We take pride in our authentic style of cooking and strive to give you the full Down South CaJJun experience with great food, great people, and a great time! Bringing the great taste of Southeast Texas/Louisiana to Austin!

Overall the place had a good vibe. The waitresses are super friendly and knowledgeable of their jobs...I loved the old school music, Cocktails and the food was delicious.....I give them a 10/10 ..........The club vibes are from 10pm to 2AM.... we didn't stay that long but I've heard it's really nice after hours

The food is amazing, service was professional. I would buy food to go next time because I’m a bit dated for scene. Again the food is AMAZING! FYI- There is a 15% gratuity automatically added when dining in, which I was happy to pay.

If you are searching for a brunch spot…restaurant with excellent food, great service, young adult-vibe, this is the spot. The DJ on Sundays plays a good variety of music too.

As always the food was excellent. My out of town guests loved everything they ordered. One of my favorite spots for great food and good cocktails!

I had high expectations due to reviews I saw on the resturant...I think those ppl were paid. The menu is very limited for brunch literally only having the options for chicken thighs with either French toast or waffles, cat fish with French toast or waffles, grits with 3 shrimp, and a sausage sandwich. Food was mediocre the cat fish was very fishy so I sent it back because YUCK! Ended up having a back n forth with one of the staff regarding charging me for half the cat fish plate and the full price for the replacement plate of chicken (Where they do that at???) I ended up talking to the manager who made it right and only charged 50% of the replacement plate. The French toast was deep fried and super greasy, chicken could use more seasoning. The music was fairly loud for the place to not have a large crowd. Our waitress was BOMB! She was super sweet and accommodating I appreciate her getting the manager and making things right. Overall probably wouldn't go back just wasn't for me.

Music was great but if we talking about the food. The food was cool very basic and not flavorful I wouldn’t come back unless it was just to drink
