Great food and service! One of my favorite downtown restaurants. Perfect choice before a show at the Majestic!
Steak undercooked, potatoes overcooked. Very limited menu and one item not even available. Very disappointed.
Service was good, but they are short of staff. The plates were served at different times although we were
just two people.
Perfect date night downtown.
Not really all that impressed.
Great restaurant. Great food. Great service. Great experience overall. It was our first time being there. I would really recommend. It is a restaurant I will definitely be going back to.
We went for Thanksgiving dinner I looked online and liked the idea of Argentine dinner a few days later after making the reservation I called cause I had a feeling that they'd have a set menu and of course they did which they did not list, However the operator emailed the menu to me. luckily the waiter told us that when we arrived at the bar we could get the regular menu and of course that's where they had my dessert that I wanted the set menu did not however he did work his magic and was able to bring that out. The butternut squash was delicious and So was the lemon curd dessert with fresh fruit and white chocolate ice cream. Everything else was pretty much basic.
I miss the Thanksgiving Buffet, but we enjoyed our meal. The servers were nice.
Excellent food and a very attentive waitress. We knew it was pricey but it was worth it. We are coming back for my wife’s birthday.
Our server was very attentive, courteous, and seemed genuine in her desire to make our evening a success. The food was excellent. The chicken was wonderful, moist and flavorful. Red Snapper was prepared wonderfully.
My wife and I went to try out the restaurant before a show at the Majestic. We ordered 4 of the small plates to share. The stew was really good, and the cheese was good cause it was cheese. However the empanadas lacked flavor and the sausage tasted extremely pork-y flavored. The sauce that was served with the sausage was really good though. The service was great an fast. The best part of the dinner was probably the Casa Rosado cocktail, it was amazing.
Food was great and so was service! The empanadas were so yummy and steak was perfectly cooked.
Excellent! Would go there again without question.
We love Argentinian cuisine and Borrega was authentic and stylish. Empanadas arrived hot with a tasty sauce. Steak was cooked to perfection and the quantities were very adequate. Service went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful experience. Only complaint was a limited whine selection but that is probably the result of COVID
Our server, Peter, was really good, well informed about the food and specials and how things were cooked and served. Food was delicious and carefully prepared and filet was so tender could cut with a fork. We hosted out of town guests and it was a lovely and memorable dinner. Are outside overlooking the Riverwalk and the night was lovely.
We had a dinner reservation at 6, didn’t get our food until 7:10, and we had a show at the Majestic starting at 7:30. We refused the food and left. We didn’t even get the second plate! My order was brought out but we were still waiting on the other plate after over an hour.
We went to celebrate our 1st year anniversary and loved the experience. Our waiter Pete was very helpful and attentive. He suggested we try the tomahawk steak and it was amazing. The chef Greg made it perfectly. He even came out personally to check if we liked our food and gave us a dessert on the house to celebrate our anniversary. Absolutely loved it here. We will definitely be returning here.
Food was over cooked and over seasoned
The empanadas are awesome! Wish there were more entree options. They seemed a little short staffed but that's the norm everywhere during the pandemic.
Amazing! Love the atmosphere, the decor, the ambiance
We chose this restaurant because we wanted Argentinian food. Unfortunately the lunch selection lax that. We were hoping for more of a Argentinian parrilla (carne, chorizo, molleja, morcilla, etc). There was none of that. So we stayed for the choripan and went for a steak elsewhere.
Great Dinner and Venue! Excellent Argentine Sasson!
Very impressed with service and food quality. Great wine selection. Best restaurant on our trip so far. Small and large plates available.
Very Good service, good quite fancy restaurant would good food
The chicken was rubbery. But everything else was very good
Dorrego's looks better than it is in terms of food. I was the unlucky one last night at a birthday table. Although the rest of the party seemed to like the food, I got a plate of overcooked pasta with a can of tomatoes thrown over the top. A few shrimp were the only edible part of the meal. Also the fruit dessert was more sweet liquid than fruit. Nice ambience, but there are many other better places to eat for $50-per head.
Thus was our last meal after 6 days in San Antonio and while all of our dining experiences went well, this was by far the best. Antonio and his team were great as was the food. Steak, empanadas, chorizo, salads and even the house Malbec.
Definitely will be back and plan on staying at the hotel too!
Took advantage of Restaurant Week and booked at Dorrego's. Right now almost every street in downtown is torn up or closed, so it was a challenge finding Hotel Valencia and the restaurant. Valet parking is free if you are eating in the restaurant. Very courteous service all the way around. Restaurant is not large, so the sound level was very low. Made for a nice atmosphere. Dinner began with a small glass of complimentary wine. We had nice sections of foods to choose from. Salad was very good, as was the hot provolone cheese appetizer. We ordered the New York strip and this is where the food dropped a little. Steak was thin and just so, so. Dessert was pot de cream and was delicious. All in all, was a very pleasant experience.
Pretty good food seemed a little under staffed but they did a great job not showing it because our waiter tried his best while getting all the other tables
Awesome job all around. Was running late in in fact we missed our reservation time staff still got us in no problem
We went not knowing what to expect, but I love Latin food so we figured why not. We were treated exceptionally well by the waitstaff, they all made us feel like we were their only guests yet the restaurant was busy. We started with the empanadas they were amazing! We struggled with what to get for dinner and the waiter told us about their tomahawk ribeye for two. We decided to go for it and wow!!! It was the best ribeye we ever had! It has a smokey flavor from the applewood cold smoke they did prior to cooking the meat and then it was cooked to perfection, medium-rare. It came on a large skillet with mushrooms cooked in bacon, asparagus and potatoes all delicious! We focused on the ribeye and ate some sides but we didn’t want to stop eating that steak! We were full but really wanted something sweet so we got the chocolate mousse, it was light and so very chocolatey it was the perfect end to the meal. If we are ever in San Antonio again, this is where we will go!
We had a great experience. The food was delicious! The waiter was very attentive and the ambiance was fantastic.
Good service and food. Quiet
Very personal service
Amazing meal and service - exceeded expectations!
The ribeye was delicious and so were the empanadas.
Mother daughter trip
My server was so nice and the food was wonderful. I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. The Argentinian cab paired nicely too.
My steak was good. My wife had a special that was shrimp and linguine that was ok. Not bad, but not excellent. The server was great and the ambiance was excellent. I'd try other similar restaurants in the area before returning.
